A Study on the Educational Necessity and Activation Plan of Image Making Program for Life Care (라이프케어를 위한 이미지메이킹 프로그램 교육의 필요성과 활성화 방안)

  • This study is aimed at exploring the current state, necessity and activation of curriculum related to image making program in domestic colleges. To achieve this, an empirical survey was carried out to college students to provide basic data for the development of image making education program in the college curriculum as a measure to guide job interviews with them and improve interpersonal skills of employees-to-be. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 400 college students in Gwangju and Jeonnam areas. The analysis was conducted to verify the collected data using SPSS v. 21.0 through the process of data coding and data cleaning. The results are as follows. First, the necessity of image making program curriculum showed that they needed the image making program in the college curriculum, the image making program curriculum to get a job and manage an image of employees-to-be after graduation, and other people's help to figure out the images objectively. Second, the educational importance of image making program showed that attitude (behavior) was the highest, followed by manners & greeting, look, speech, relationship, clothes, hairstyle, and makeup. In terms of the important educational factors of image making program, look was the highest, followed by makeup, hairstyle, attitude (behavior), relationship, speech, clothes, and manners & greeting, which look was the most important. Third, the educational influence of image making program showed that the influence on employment was the highest, followed by the influence on relationship, and the influence on life. Fourth, the educational activation of image making program showed that the appropriate educational time for image making program they want was from the second year. Education hours they want were once a week for one semester. And the curriculum they want was liberal arts or an optional course of liberal arts. In terms of image making program-related curriculum contents, manner & greeting was the highest, followed by makeup & coordination, job fair, education to acquire a skill qualification, and training for domestic companies, which their biggest wish was manner & greeting. And image making program leaders they want were major professors. In terms of image making program-related education, speech or voice was the highest, followed by education to analyze communication, education to analyze and practice matching hairstyles and makeup, Education on corporate interviews, and education on walking or posture correction, which their biggest wish was speech or voice and education to analyze communication.

Study of Relation Between Beauty Curriculum Awareness, Career Education Satisfaction and Career Decision Efficacy (미용교육과정 인식과 진로교육 만족도, 진로결정 효능감 관계 연구)

  • This study surveyed 289 beauty specialized high school students to analyze the relation between beauty curriculum awareness, career education satisfaction, and career decision efficacy. The beauty curriculum was concentrated towards the hair major and technical education for license acquisition, and the career plans were high in employment and college entrance admission. In terms of awareness and satisfaction of the beauty curriculum, nails and entrepreneurship were low (p<0.05, p<0.001), nails were low in career decision efficacy, and makeup and entrepreneurship was low in career education satisfaction (p<0.01, p<0.05). The career education satisfaction was higher as the beauty curriculum awareness rises, and educators had a positive influence on career education satisfaction. The following areas had the positive influence for each section; the school operation and facility area for job information, the curriculum area for future planning and problem solving, and the educator area for self-evaluation (p<0.05, p<0.001, p<0.001). Therefore, it is necessary to improve the curriculum in the majors of make-up, skin, and nails, and effective career education programs should be developed.

A Study on The Influence of Relational Benefits on Brand Image and Trust of Trainees in Make-up Beauty Academy (메이크업 전문 뷰티아카데미 교육생들의 관계효익이 뷰티아카데미 브랜드 이미지와 신뢰에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effect of relational benefits that students of Makeup Beauty Academy perceive about Beauty Academy on brand image, trust and recommendation intention. The survey was conducted on students from five Beauty Academies in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province. The analysis was done using SmartPLS 2.0, which enables simultaneous measurement of causal relationships, mutual influence and structural models among potential variables. According to the analysis, social benefits, economic benefits, and customization benefits, excluding psychological benefits, have a significant impact on the brand image. Psychological and economic benefits were found to have no significant impact on trust. Both brand image and trust were found to have a significant impact on the recommendation intention. Based on the results of the analysis, the implications necessary for the formation of customer relationships between the makeup-specialized Beauty Academy and the students were presented.

Analysis of Manpower Demand in the Nail Art/Makeup Industry and Its Relationship with NCS Education and National Technical Qualification (네일미용·메이크업 산업체의 인력 요구분석과 NCS 교육, 국가기술자격과의 관계)

  • This study analyzed the qualifications necessary and manpower required in the Jeju nail art and make-up industry. We aimed to investigate the relationship between NCS education and national technical qualifications. For this study, 164 participants were given a questionnaire, and the collected data were analyzed via frequency analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Ver. 18.0. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Matching job seekers with available positions was more difficult in nail art businesses than in makeup businesses. The main routes by which practitioners found jobs were Internet job sites and acquaintances. In addition, experience was the first consideration in hiring employees. 2. Those in high positions had less intention of employing students who had received NCS education, than those in lower positions. Intention to employ NCS graduates was high in businesses that found their employees through Internet job sites, vocational training institutes, acquaintances, or colleagues. Nail art workers prioritized NCS educational units in the following order: nail care, nail shop hygiene, gel nails, cosmetic nail removal, and tips/wraps. Makeup workers had the following priorities: basic makeup, wedding makeup, makeup shop safety, and hygiene management. They also mentioned basic occupational skills such as communication skills, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills. Moreover, the new national licensing system was found to reflect competency in the most important skill sets.

  • In the movie market, make-up shows various ways of make up in professional technology as the industry develops. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the trend of making a movie with a change in the type of movie Regarding the characteristics of makeup in the early days of silent films, the stage makeup was fully used. also in the days of sound films, the realistic and concrete makeup was expressed such as straight makeup, character makeup, Special effects makeup, and digital makeup. With the development of the fourth industry, CGI special effects have become possible not only in the background of movies but also in makeup. In the movie, makeup does not use CGI makeup alone, but it is used in a combination of straight makeup, character makeup, and special effects makeup. That's why a variety of makeup needs to be taught. In the future, the domestic film industry should establish the improvement measures for educating the techniques of prosthetic/digital makeup by securing the sufficient finances to more vitalize the film industry of Korea in domestic/foreign markets.

  • The reality of this study is that, in accordance with the development trend of human body art, art makeup and semi-permanent makeup are emerging as promising industries in the beauty industry among beauticians, and awareness of professional skill improvement is gradually increasing over time. Accordingly, interest in semi-permanent makeup has increased not only among beauticians who specialize in beauty industry or learn semi-permanent makeup, but also at beauty academies where they learn many beauty techniques, and this trending technology has been promoted at international beauty competitions by holding skill competitions for beauty technicians who specialize in semi-permanent techniques. As a venue for exchanging information about education, it is expected that synergistic effects such as dissemination of the education system can be expected. Korea's rapid industrial development has brought about great changes in the supply and demand of professional and detailed skilled manpower and in the formation of manpower in terms of technical level according to industrial development, and the skills and professional skills of beauty beauticians have improved due to the excellence of the professional education qualifications of beauticians and high skill evaluations. This had a significant impact on self-development and led to a re-recognition of the importance of efforts to achieve skilled skills.

  • 본 연구는 미용업 분야를 헤어, 네일, 피부, 메이크업으로 나누어 사고재해 실태와 사용 제품에 대한 안전 인식도를 비교하기 위하여 수행되었다. 그 결과 근무하는 사업장의 작업 시 발생하는 유해요인으로는 분진, 근골격계, 화학물질 함유 제품의 유기용제 순으로 높게 나타났으며, 지난 1년 동안의 사고 및 재해는 26.3%가 경험한 것으로 파악되었다. 사고나 재해의 종류로는 베임, 인대 늘어남, 하지정맥류 등의 근골격계 이상이 가장 많았다. 미용업에서 사용되고 있는 제품의 화학물질 함유에 대한 인지도는 77.2%, 중금속 함유에 대하여 인지도는 59.1%로 나타났으며, 미용업 관련 제품의 표시사항(성분, 주의사항 등)에 대한 확인 여부는 '중요한 내용만 확인'한다는 응답이 가장 많았다. 화학물질에 대한 물질안전보건자료(MSDS)의 인지여부는 88.8%가 알지 못하는 것으로 나타났으며, 물질안전보건자료(MSDS)에 대한 인식도 및 사업장의 비치 여부가 낮은 것으로 파악되었다. 안전교육의 필요성은 73.6%로 높게 나타나 안전 교육에 대한 대책 마련이 요구되었다. 본 연구는 미용업 전반에 대한 사고재해 실태 및 안전의식에 관한 포괄적인 연구가 수행되어 미용업 근로자의 안전의식 고취와 정책적 안전관리 방안, 근로자 건강관리의 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

Effect of Image Making Education on Self-Esteem and Education Satisfaction (이미지메이킹 교육이 자아존중감과 교육만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among image making education, self-esteem and education satisfaction using airline service department in the university. In this study, 2 hypotheses based on literature reviews were employed. Questionnaire was also developed based on previous studies. A convenience sample of 240 students was surveyed and 218 usable questionnaires were analyzed. According to the exploratory factor analysis, image making education was divided into 'external image education', 'basic character education' and 'manner education'. Self-esteem, on the other hand, was categorized into the following variables: 'sense of value' and 'esteem' accordingly. Then the data and hypotheses were examined using structural equation modeling (SEM) by AMOS. The results are as follows. Firstly, 'external image' and 'manner education' have positive effect on 'sense of value' while manner education has effect on 'esteem'. Secondly, 'sense of value' and 'esteem' factor have positive effects on education satisfaction. Hence continuous and systematic education should be conducted to administer 'image making curriculum'. Self-esteem should also be taught in schools to encourage student's satisfaction on education. The contribution and limitations of this research were discussed and the future possible researches were mentioned.

An Analysis and Reformation of National Qualification Framework in Beauty Art-related Departments (미용계열학과 국가역량체계(NQF) 현황분석과 개선방안)

  • I have analyzed the present status of national certifications and qualifications systems in overseas countries in order to come up with improvement alternatives to National Qualifications Framework(NQF). Most national certifications and qualifications systems at home and abroad have introduced, implemented or are in the process of modifying evaluation programs on the basis of Level 8. I have come to the conclusion that certificates and qualification titles equivalent to those for education programs in cosmetology related departments should be developed for high school to the masters and PhD diplomas, at the same time, the certification program to foster industrial engineers as well as master craftsman for skin & nail-care as well as makeup courses that are not available in beauty field, and I expect this study to be used as the basis material for onsite education & training programs for professionals in beauty field whose capability are respected upon acquisition of relevant certificates in relations with cosmetology related education courses.

  • This research was attempted in order to raise the actual effectiveness of beauty education by reviewing the problems on beauty education curricula of junior colleges and arranging their countermeasures. This thesis suggests improvement plans of curricula in Korean beauty education as follows. First, one of the main aims of beauty education sought at a junior college should be verified that it is to raise beauty leaders, furthermore, by including artistic knowledge on top of skill-based education purposes we shall put more efforts improve and sublimate beauty art, not only as skills but also as art. Second, it is necessary to fix the department titles in accordance with the contents of curricula. The titles have to be standardized for the right recognition of each curriculum by dividing beauty into hair beauty, skin-care or make up with each curriculum based. Third, it is necessary to standardize major requisite subjects to be completed in certain units by each major among colleges as well as class hours. forth, the curriculum system needs to be revised in accordance with school system for example suitable curricula for each school system level of private institutes and secondary vocational institutes, high school, junior collage, university, post graduates, etc, I have to be developed and enforced.
