This research examines the effect of area level characteristics on individual health, particularly focusing on the vulnerable populations in Seoul. We consider adult individuals whose family income is under 1.5 million won, who are aged 65 and over, or who have neither spouse nor job but aged 40 and over as vulnerable populations. Using the 2005 Seoul Citizens' Health Interview Survey, we conducted multilevel analyses to simultaneously investigate the effect of area and individual level characteristics on health. Between-area variance of self-rated health status was greater for the elderly population than for all populations. Area material deprivation index and happiness index were associated with the self-rated health of economically disadvantaged populations. Vulnerable populations showed greater between-area variances in emotional health than the same for all populations. Area happiness index, material deprivation index, the proportion of households below poverty line and street safety showed statistically significant association with emotional health. The effect of area characteristics were particularly salient for the emotional health of elderly population and its between area variance was also notable.

All Neo-Confucian literati used the theory of heart/mind as a sole useful method in political field from after King Myeonjong and Seonjo. "Cheonmyeong-Doseol" by Jeong Ji-wun was a first step to this scene. Especially "Cheonmyeong-Doseol" was got famous by arguments of Yi Hwang and Ki $Dae-s{\breve{u}}ng$, great scholars in the history of Chosun Dynasty. They firstly developed Sachil-Nobyeon, Sandan(pure morality) comes from li, Chiljeong(emotions) comes from Ch'i, is it right or not? This argument with "Cheonmyeong-Doseol" raised up the level of Neo-Confucian theory at that time. Like this, "Cheonmyeong-Doseol" was on the first step for Neo-Confucian literati to study and develop their theory of political thought which covered politics in Chosun Dynasty.
Considering the long time that modern man has been autonomous, it can be said that the brutal human violence prevalent around the globe today is an 'exceptional situation'. Behavior such as killing animals or devastating the natural environment are thought to be unavoidable. However, if human beings have been 'social animals' pursuing connectedness and seeking meaning in the relationships of others beyond themselves since the beginning of time, how can the incredibly powerful violence which humankind has inflicted on plants, other animals, or the earth itself be explained? With this in mind, I propose the following arguments. First, the crisis of consciousness in the loss of hope for the future of mankind under the technology of modern Western civilization has already come to a dead-end causing Western philosophers to think of ways to discover new opportunities, apparent as ecology and ecological philosophy. Second, as reality has become governed by the technology of modern Western civilization and ecological philosophical rationality fails to co-exist with this reality, an understanding of ecological philosophy should be deepened and continued. In this context, I will investigate the existential conditions for human life to continue in the future in consideration of ecological philosophy and the meaning of Forest.
What this study aims is to analyze that how the stories of Prince Hodong are represented in modern historical fictions. The stories have been reproduced in many forms such as TV dramas, films, fictions, plays. It can be depicted that the narratives are indeed national and popular. Interestingly, however, the description of Hodong has not been found in pre-modern documents or fictions. The story began to appear and became popular in 1935 by Yoon Baek Nam. It can be explained that the narratives are the one of the example of the invented tradition since it became visible in modern period. Yoon, Lee Tae Joon, and Yu Chi Jin have constructed the character of Hodong what we are familiar with. Yoon depicted Hodong as a romatic lover with the motif of a lovers suicide. Lee and Yu put a context of nationalism by explaining Nakrang as a Nakrangkun of Hansagun(the four colonies of China). These are pure invention of the writers which cannot be found in The History of Three Kingdoms(三國史記). These characters are closely related with the surrounding of their own society. Yoon shows how the past can be seen as a nostalgic object by modern aesthetic perspective. Lee illustrates the ambiguous thought of a colonial intellectual who (anti)internalizes the ideology of militarism. Yu tries to find the way to recover the muscularity of the nation by re-colouring the memory of the past. These, the representations created in various contexts, make our common knowledges of Prince Hodong nowadays.
Rather than an abstract discourse, the purpose of this study is to outline the core concepts in the 2015 revised curriculum as a concrete teaching and learning method in the school context. We interviewed eight secondary science teachers and reported their perceptions and perspectives on core concepts using a backward design model based on the cyclical process of the platform, deliberation, and design for developing teaching and learning materials to understand core concepts. The participants perceived these core concepts differently, such as big ideas corresponding to the ultimate principle, minimum science concepts required for daily life, and primary and significant key concepts. In addition, this affects the association of teaching and learning. When core concepts are understood as transferable and expandable big ideas, there is a tendency to focus on the relationship between concepts and design project learning in a specific direction. However, if core concepts are identified as minimum science concepts at the level of science literacy, that can be recalled within the context of life, there is a tendency to emphasize on activities that make a meaningful difference to the lives of students with focus on case studies that are relevant to everyday life. Once core concepts are identified as key scientific content elements, such as basic or significant concepts, teachers recognize that it is essential to emphasize concept changes by correcting misconceptions, acquiring accurate scientific knowledge, and developing problem-solving items through paper-and-pencil evaluation. As the 2015 revised curriculum is finalized and the 2022 revised curriculum is scheduled for release, effective policy support is required to ensure that the curriculum is revised, which emphasizes the purpose of big ideas by naming core concepts as core ideas, to be stably implemented in schools.

Since there are differences in the content, structure and functions of interpersonal communication during the practice of school science classes, it needs to articulate the difference of the modality of pedagogical practice in order to understand science teaching in detail. These characteristics of science teaching can be investigated by further insightful analysis on language in the science classroom. In this study, classroom discourse language codes using Bernstein's code theory were analyzed in the case of a middle school science class on the unit of minerals. The discourse language code was identified by the value of classification, which revealed power relations to the contexts of discourse and participants of discourse. It was also identified by the value of framing, which showed hierarchical relation between teacher and students as discourse subjects, and discursive control on the initiative of discourse. The results addressed that six types of discourse language codes were constructed and that those language codes reflected diverse modalities of science teaching from student-centered instruction to teacher-centered instruction in relation to classroom discourse. The modality of science teaching according to the transition tendencies of discourse language code showed dynamic variations of 'controlled student-centeredness inducing teaching' - 'positional student-centeredness permissive teaching' - 'controlled students' participation permissive teaching' - 'controlled student-centeredness facilitative teaching' - 'student-centeredness enhancing teaching'. In addition, results released that discursively and hierarchically weak control of discourse is necessary for enhancing student-centeredness of science teaching. Moreover, teaching practice enhancing student-centeredness can be accomplished by the harmony of a teacher's perception of discourse language code and his/her orientation to constructivist teaching and student-centered teaching.
With the recent increase of sensitivity to decors, there has been an ever-increasing significance of exhibiting the beauty of the outer looks of an article. This trend has necessarily led to the diversification and also specialization of the color scheme activities. And so, it is inevitable that we should form the substantial ideas of the color scheme and further on, enhance the efficacy of its orientation under the prevailing circumstances. Now, we come to a realization that we must first take a glance at the whole picture of the arrays of color embedded in a variety of articles in the sixties and seventies of the 20th century, a bold introduction of color designs, thereby tracing the birth of color designs and finding a meaning in its mechanism. This study begins with the obtaining of a large collection of articles in those days, along with the literature on the commercial effects color suggest, and looking into the background of their trend and finding a meaning that underlies what these colors suggest. The general idea of those color designs exemplifies that the color selection was none other than the simplicity and convenience in the making of things in doser relation to the easy selling. With the advance of material quality and enhancement of the industrial idealism, it has been proved that color plays an important role in depicting the image of quality and tastes of class. In that role color has been given the indicator of visual delights and differentials in quality articles. All this has been reflected in a diversity of articles: for instance, white for household appliances, prime color for living necessaries and natural color for the decore like furniture. Formerly, after all, people used to have little regard for color. What is color for, it was thought, in relation to the selling image of articles? That is wily our preceding generation pays attention only to the first-hand looks of articles, neglecting the intensive study on color. We are beginning to understand what image a certain color scheme evokes in our feeling.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the directions for the development and improvement of mathematics textbooks in Korea by examining these characteristics of German textbooks. As a result, German mathematics textbooks were free for unit order and names of units. German mathematics textbooks defined a function for various real life and natural phenomena, relation after intuitively knowing the correspondence between two variables through a graph. In addition, it exercises interpreting the characteristics and information of the graph, guides the activity of graphing various functional situations, and contents to convert various expression methods such as graphs, tables, relational expressions, mathematical terms and sentences. In the German mathematics textbooks, mathematical expressions of the functional relations of the materials in various contexts of daily life, and the activities of predicting and predicting the future, were made to feel the usefulness of mathematics. It has raised functional thinking and provided problems related to other subjects, thus enhancing connectivity with other disciplines. It also included open issues and issues that required mathematical communication.

To understand the structure and dynamics of different forms of learning, whether incidental or conscious, we have to study them as parts or aspects of concrete historical activities with specifiable contexts. This realization is more embodied in apprenticeship learning situations of the student teachers. In this perspective, this paper aims to understand the student teachers' experience on geography teaching as a participant observer in the secondary schools. The 9 student teachers during the teaching internship have written their 38 journals, which was quality analysed to find out key concepts for the purpose of this research. Major conclusions are suggested below as follows. First, the most student teachers were experienced in geography teaching in the secondary schools through the 2-weeks practice teaching. Second, in the positive perspective, student teachers observed on that teachers would teaching well interact with student and experienced teachers would settle down to student's studies. Third, in the negative perspective, student teachers observed on that teachers lecture with only text, and cooperative learning by student presentation in the geography class. Finally, In third person perspective, there is no students' or teachers' productive questions in the whole-class conversation. In addition to that the most mentor teachers lecture do all of the talking in class. In effect these student teachers' experiences, especially 'reality of the geography teaching' and 'practical knowledge of the novice mentor teachers or experienced mentor teachers', either reinforce or modify understanding about the geography teaching practices.

This study contemplates spatial context of startup in manufacturing, mainly analyzing job creation effects of time lag of startups in manufacturing at different technology levels. Using DID model, we found that each region including capital, non-capital and metropolitan area shows different job creation effects of time lag. In capial region, startup cohort in high R&D intensity manufacturing was found to show short-term job creation effects, but in non-capital region, long-term job creation effects was found with the one in medium-high R&D intensity manufacturing. In case of metropolitan area, we couldn't find much evidence of job creation effects that was statistically significant. The result of analysis implied that, in capital region, startup support policies, targeting at high R&D intensity manufacturing, ought to be focused on scale-up of startups that survived for a certain period. And non-capital area and some of metropolitan areas in non-capital region that have comparatively inferior infrastructure and brain-drain problems as well should focus on fostering startups in medium-high R&D intensity manufacturing in a long-term perspective and utilize their traditional manufacturing base.
