  • This article aims to (1) come up with a new way of the classification by analysing 2,475 of the documents in the Archives of the National Debt Redemption Movement(NDRM) recently registered as the Memory of the World; (2) make a proposal of their rules for archival description with reference to ISAD(G) 2ND EDITION, ISSAR, and NAK. This leads to the suggestion of necessity to make archivistically the rules for archival description of archives in the Memory of the World and manage them on the rules, in view of the recent trend of increasing the number of the records registered as the Memory of the World and adding the records even after their registration. The archives of NDRM is an artificial collection. It can be said that the classification of manuscript collection on the basis of the preparation subject according to Schellenberg's principle of the provenance is the most systematic. On the foundation of it, the suggestions of various classifications by activities, times, sorts of records, medias, topics, etc. would permit to search and interpret the archives in the Memory of the World with more efficiency.

  • RRecords management has focused largely on public records in south korea with a relatively low progress in the collection and management of private records with the enactment of Public Records Act in 1999. This study set out to categorize the records of the Coalition for Democratic Reunification and the People's Movement(DRPM) and develop them into a group collection. For this study, literature reviews, analysis and reorganization of records content, development of a classification system, and expert evaluation were carried out. The findings of this study will contribute to greater efficiency in the search of records about the DRPM by developing a classification system to recategorize its records of various sources and enable their easy access and utilization in a digital archive. In addition, the basic structure of producer-oriented classification can be suggested as an example of the organization of a group collection.

  • Christian records are greatly diversified as they are scattered in various institutions inside and outside of the church, which include records of Christian organizations, individuals, and the media. Given this, their management methods also vary. Because of this diversification of methods, it is difficult for people to access and make use of these records. This study aims to develop rules for the archival description of Christian historical records to provide a foundation that will allow users to have an integrated system where they can access all Christian records from different institutions including the church. For this purpose, the rules for archival description of the National Archives of Korea and the Korea Democracy Foundation, and those of the Presbyterian Church in the United States were compared, and from this comparison, features of each institution were identified. Using the features based on ISAD(G) (General International Standard Archival Description) and Christian historical records, the rules for the archival description of Christian historical records were developed.

  • This study designed a data model linked to Wikidata and examined its applicability to increase the utilization of the digital archive records of the National Debt Redemption Movement, registered as World Memory Heritage, and implications were derived by analyzing the existing metadata, thesaurus, and semantic network graph. Through analysis of the original text of the National Debt Redemption Movement records, key data model classes for linking with Wikidata, such as record item, agent, time, place, and event, were derived. In addition, by identifying core properties for linking between classes and applying the designed data model to actual records, the possibility of acquiring abundant related information was confirmed through movement between classes centered on properties. Thus, this study's result showed that Wikidata's strengths could be utilized to increase data usage in local archives where the scale and management of data are relatively small. Therefore, it can be considered for application in a small-scale archive similar to the National Debt Redemption Movement digital archive.
