Tendencies toward Game Addiction in the Group of Adolescents with Highly-educated Parents (고학력부모를 둔 청소년의 게임중독 성향)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the reason of higher tendencies toward game addiction in the group of adolescents with highly educated parents than the group of adolescents with non-highly educated parents. The results show that the variables affecting adolescents' game addiction in the group of adolescents with highly educated parents are very different with those in the group of adolescents with non-highly educated parents. In the group of adolescents with highly educated parents, most of variables related to family function and communication types are not significantly affecting game addiction, while they are affecting in the group of adolescents with non-highly educated parents. This indicates that highly educated families might have particular family system related to stratification culture.

A Study on Fair Parental Role Model of Dual Earner Couples, their Expectation for Parental Nursing Capability and Real Nursing Practices (맞벌이 부부의 부모역할 공평성 가치관 및 아버지의 양육수행유능감과 양육수행)

  • This study aims to explore the variable factors by which fathers affect nursing practices. for this study 544 married couples were interviewed, which resulted in the following conclusions. First, wives have higher fairness than husbands in sharing their parental roles. Second, in some couples, there was a difference seen in the expectations of each parents nursing capability, but rarely were differences in real nursing practices actually observed. Third, all couples interviewed showed some disparity between their expectations of parental nursing capability and their real nursing practices, where the expectations for nursing capability were higher than the real nursing practices. Fourth, higher expectations for nursing capabilities from fathers result in them having better parental roles. Fifth, there is no correlation between parental nursing practices and social demographic variables. Lastly, the impacts on the parental nursing practices are ranked by relative importance as parental nursing capability, the wife's expectation for parental nursing capability and so on.

  • 가까운 미래의 가정에서는 여러 기능을 가진 로봇이 등장하여 사람과 늘기도 하고 집도 지키는 방범활동도 수행하는 등 공상과학영화 속의 일들이 현실로 다가올 것이다. 핵가족화와 맞벌이 부부의 증가로 어린이들이 혼자 집에 있는 시간이 많아졌으며 이에 불안을 느낀 학부모들은 자녀들을 학원 등의 사설교육기관에 맡겨 사교육비의 증가가 사회문제로 대두되고 있다. 그러나 가정에서 부모와 떨어져 있는 동안의 어린이의 생활을 보여주거나 학습을 도와주는 로봇이 가정에 있다면 부모들은 안심하고 직장생활에 더욱 충실하게 될 것이며 사교육비의 감소현상에도 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 가정용 로봇이 서비스하게 될 기능들 중에 초등학교 어린이의 학습을 도울 수 있는 기능에 초점을 맞추어 설문을 통해 요구를 조사하고 분석하였으며 홈 로봇과 사용자간의 메뉴를 크게 일정관리, 학습관리, 학습, 메신저 등의 카테고리로 분류하여 각 항목별로 세부 서비스 내용을 체계화하였다. 로봇을 활용한 학습 도우미 시스템의 설계는 앞으로 무한한 부가가치를 창조하게 될 로봇산업의 발달과 새로운 형태의 교육을 가능하게 하는데 큰 기여를 하게 될 것이다.

An Ecological Approach to Analysis of Variables in the Parenting Stress of the Dual-Earner Mothers and Fathers (맞벌이 부부의 양육 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 생태학적 관련 변인 탐색)

  • The objective of this research was to determine the relative impact of demographic variables and ecological factors on the parenting stress of dual earner families. Subjects were 318 fathers and 405 mothers who completed the questionnaire on parenting stress and ecological factors. Results showed that mothers perceived high parenting stress compared with fathers. Degree of satisfaction with child care was a significant correlate of parenting stress. Demographic and ecological factors were also important in understanding the variation in parenting stress of dual earner families. These findings imply that the formal child care systems and parent education programs are needed for working parents.

Patterns of Childhood's Smart Media Literacy and Effect of Parents' and Teachers' Mediation (유년층의 스마트 미디어 리터러시 유형과 부모와 교사의 중재 영향)

  • This study is to identify different patterns of childhood's smart media literacy and to predict factors relating to smart media literacy behaviors. Also, the purpose of the present study is to examine parents' and teachers' mediation of childhood's smart media literacy. The data were collected from 400 elementary students in Korea and we presented two patterns of smart media literacy : perception literacy, critical literacy. The results showed positive relationships between perception literacy and parental active and passive mediation. And a teacher's active and passive mediation was positively associated with children's perception literacy. In addition, the results of this study showed that parental active and passive mediation also affected the critical literacy. It was found that there were significant differences in sociological characteristics like in gender, school year, spending time, a double income family on smart media literacy. This suggests that a parent's active and passive mediation may lead to activate children's smart media use.

  • 최근 한 자녀 가정이 늘어나면서 아동의 정서적 안정을 위해 반려동물을 키우는 가정이 늘고 있다. 그러나 맞벌이, 알레르기 등 기타 요인으로 실제 동물을 키우기 힘든 환경의 가정이 많다. 본 연구에서는 인터렉티브 동물 장난감이 반려동물의 대안이 될 수 있는지 조사해 보고 그의 필요성과 발전 방향을 모색한다. 만 4세~9세 자녀를 둔 10개 가구를 대상으로 Ethnography 연구조사를 통해 다각도로 관찰하여 결론을 제시한다. 인터렉티브 동물 장난감의 외형 및 목적에 따라 두 개의 그룹으로 나누어 부모를 통한 근접 관찰 및 아동과 부모의 사전/사후 설문 등을 통해 현재 인터렉티브 동물 장난감이 아동에게 줄 수 있는 영향을 분석해 보고, 아동과 정서적 상호작용을 하는 목적으로 발전하기 위한 방향성을 제시한다.

  • This study analyzed the policies related to parents in child care centers from 1991 to 2013 as shown in the guidance for child care business book published by the government and accredited journals by the National Research Foundation. Policies related to parents in child care centers were divided into the following periods: 1) the period of passive parent education focused on low-income families (1991-1994), 2) the period of relief for dual-income families (1995-1997), 3) the period of relief for adoption families and the practice of child care support services (2004-2007), 4) the period of active parent involvement (2008-2013). On the other hand, the research trends of parent education in child-care centers were as follows: 1) the survey of parent education was the most common at first, 2) the studies of the role and disposition of parents occupied the bulk, 3) the studies of parents' needs and satisfaction on parent involvement appeared plenty, 4) the studies of the personalized parent education increased. Consequently, the need for home care services and the importance of parents' education were suggested.

Work-family Balance for Working Parents with Elementary School Children in Korea (취업 학부모를 위한 초등학교의 "일-가정 균형" 제도 현황)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the education policies for work-family balance in Korea. Data were collected from homepages of elementary schools(n=196). The major analysis was performed through the following 4 subjects, parent-teacher association, after-school programs, holidays on every alternate Saturday, arbitrary no school days. Based on the results, the policy implications on social investment policies were discussed : To promote work-family balance, family-friendly culture in workplaces as well as schools should be established that develop childcare system for working parents. The linkages between educational system and work system will contribute to parents' rights in Korea.

  • 맞벌이 가정이 증가함에 따라 자녀가 홀로 학교 또는 학원 활동을 하는 경우가 증가하고 있다. 어른이 동행하지 않기 때문에 부모는 자녀의 안전과 일정을 올바르게 유지하고 있는지에 확인이 어려운 문제가 있다. 이 논문에서는 스마트폰의 GPS기능으로 위치전송을 통하여 어린아이의 위치를 알려줌으로써 자녀를 둔 부모를 걱정을 덜어주는 자녀 일정 관리 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 자녀의 일정을 입력하여 지정된 시간과 장소에 자녀가 진입 및 이탈시 메시지로 알려주고 자녀의 현재위치와 이동경로를 확인할 수 있다. 자녀는 부모에게 실시간으로 자신의 위치를 전송하고 스케줄을 확인할 수 있다.

The Structural Relationship among Parent-Child Differentiation, Marital Stability, and Psychological Well-Being: Focusing on Eco-Boomer Married Daughters (에코부머 세대의 부모-자녀 분화, 결혼안정성 및 심리적 복지의 구조적 관계: 기혼 딸을 중심으로)

  • This study examined the relationships between socio-demographic background variables, parent-child differentiation, marital stability, and psychological well-being in 382 eco-boomer married women (born in 1979-1992) whose mothers were born in 1955-1963. As a result, the higher the average monthly contact frequency with the mother, the greater the intimacy (connectivity) with the mother. The higher the number of years of marriage, the lower the marriage stability, the higher the education level, and the higher the average household income were related to the higher the self-acceptance. In addition, compared to women in single-income families, married women who receive help raising their children from their mothers did not form reliable relationships with others or show satisfaction compared to women who do not receive the assistance. Those who were well connected with their mother (or had high intimacy) had higher marriage stability, and those with higher marriage stability had higher psychological well-being. They also had better relationships with other people when married women had a higher level of parent-child differentiation.
