  • This study was carried out to develop a microcomputer-based data acquisition system and software for analysis of engine vibration. Due to this development of system and software, studies on the vibration of engine was able to conduct efficiently. From the display of color monitor, the outputs of test were compared and analysed on zero-base monitoring. The results obtained are summarized as follows : 1. Data acquisition system in microcomputer was designed and programmed and operated accurately. 2. The results of test were easily compared in monitoring of zero-base at color monitor. 3. The system and program developed was able to control the measuring intervals, number of channels, and number of data.

  • Automatic control system using microcomputer that have been studied in greenhouse, however, it was very difficult operation with success due to handicap for a various conditions and cultivated plants. This study was performed in order to develop of the basic program and hardware system for automatic control in greenhouse, such as automatic supplying of water, liquefied fertilizer solution and chemical solution. The results were summarized as follows. 1. The program for soil moisture control used by the switch type tensiometer was well operated. 2. The proximity switch was applied as well to water level control but it was very expensive, so low-priced sensor has to be developed. 3. The water meter was not excellent for mixing control of liquefied fertilizer, chemical and water, so water meter for only agricalture has to be developed. 4. Interface system for this study was suited to the developed controller. 5. Automatic control system to supply for water, liquefied fertilizer and chemical solution that was well operated as a fundamental study for product of controller.

Designing a Microworld for Recursive Pasterns and Algebra (재귀적 패턴과 거북 마이크로월드 설계)

  • In this paper, we consider changes of algebra strands around the world. And we suggest needs of designing new computer environment where we make and manipulate geometric recursive patterns. For this purpose, we first consider relations among symbols, meanings and patterns. And we also consider Logo environment and characterize algebraic features. Then we introduce L-system which is considered as action letters and subgroup of turtle group. There are needs to be improved since there exists some ambiguity between sign and action. Based on needs of improving the previous L-system, we suggest new commands in JavaMAL microworld. So we design a microworld for recursive patterns and consider meanings of letters in new environments. Finally, we consider the method to integrate L-system and other existing microworlds, such as Logo and DGS. Specially, combining Logo and DGS, we consider the movement of such tiles and folding nets by L-system commands. And we discuss possible benefits in this environment.

  • To convert the analog signal from the drying process into the digital signal, the interface circuit was designed and built. To measure the weight and temperature during drying process, strain gauge type load cell and temperature transducer composed of pt 100 $\Omega$ thermometers and wheatstone bridge circuits were built and used. The temperature control device was composed of photocoupler and triac. Microcomputer aided experimental convective drying system was built with above cricuits and devices. Drying characteristics of onions can be estimated using this system.

  • As one of the application of microcomputer for data acquisition and temperature control of food drying process, these studies designed and built 'the interface system, measuring sensors of weight and temperature, temperature control system'. The basic and assembly language was used to operating these system. These system measured successfully the variables such as weight and temperature during food drying, and controlled Automatically the drying temperature.

  • A method of increasing the equivalent resolution of optical transducers by setting two optical transducer arrays in juxaposed and half- pixel-length shifted position is proposed and tested. The decision in the refined resolution is executed by a microcomputer to show that there is no ambiguous case nevertheless of the fact that these transducers give an intergrated and averaged image signals.

  • A small-scale packet switching system is designed in compliance with the CCITT Recommen-dation X.25 Each switching node is controlled by a single microcomputer for all functions including terminal access control, packet-level control and link control. Basic protocol functions are successfdly implemented for the three basic hierarchical Igvels, and their results are discussed in detail.

  • The increasing heat generation rates in CPU of notebook computers motivate a research on cooling technologies with low thermal resistance. This paper develops a closed-loop two-phase cooling system using a micropump to circulate a dielectric liquid(PF5060). The cooling system consists of an evaporator containing a boiling enhancement microstructure connected to a condenser with mini fans providing external forced convection. The cooling system is characterized by a parametric study which determines the effects of volume fill ratio of coolant, existence of a boiling enhancement microstructure and pump flow rates on thermal performance of the closed loop. Experimental data shows the optimal parametric values which can dissipate 33.9W with a film heater maintained at $95^{\circ}C$.

  • CSP(Chip Size Packaging) SAW Filter Package에 대해서, 유한요소해석(Finite Element Analysis) 컴퓨터 Simulation 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 Package의 온도 분포를 해석하였다. 신뢰성(reliability) Test 조건에서 Transient Thermal Simulation을 한 후, 조건을 변화시켜 가면서 Chip 내부 온도가 어떻게 변화하는지 알아보았다. Chip에 1.8 hour 동안 4W의 열원을 주고, 주위는 2$0^{\circ}C$ 자연대류로 놓고 Transient Thermal Simulation한 결과는 약 99$^{\circ}C$로, 허용 가능한 온도인 11$0^{\circ}C$보다 약 11$^{\circ}C$ 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이는 실험값인 약 95$^{\circ}C$와 유사한 값을 나타내었다.
