A Path Fault Avoided RPAODV Routing in Ad Hoc Networks (Ad Hoc 네트워크의 경로손실 회피기반 RPAODV 라우팅)

  • Ad Node transmits packets to a destination node using routing function of intermediate nodes on the path in Ad Hoc networks. When the link to a next hop node in a path is broken due to the next hop node's mobility, a new route search process is required for continuing packets transmission. The node which recognizes link fault starts a local route recovery or the source node starts a new route search in the on demand routing protocol AODV. In this case, the new route search or the local route search brings packet delays and bad QoSs by packet delay. We propose RPAODV that the node predicts a link fault selects a possible node in neighbor nodes as a new next hop node for the path. The proposed protocol can avoid path faults and improve QoS.

An Analysis on the Propagation Prediction Model of Earth-space Communication Link using Local Data (로컬 데이터를 이용한 지구-우주 통신 링크의 전파 예측 모델 분석)

  • The propagation prediction model of the earth-space communication link used as an international standard was used to calculate and analyze the total losses on the communication path. The standard definition and scope of ITU-R Rec. were analyzed for each parameter(rain, scintillation, atmospheric gas, clouds) used to calculate the total loss. The total losses were calculated using the standard model for each parameter and the statistical data provided by ITU-R, and the results were analyzed using the validation examples data. The rain losses were calculated using long-term local rainfall attenuation statistics data measured in the region, and compared with the calculation results using a rainfall map in the ITU-R Recommendation. The data of Cheollian satellites for the L-Band and Ka-Band were used to calculate the rainfall attenuation. In the range of 0.01% to 0.1%, it was found to have a greater attenuation slope when using local data than attenuation by the model of ITU-R.

  • Korean construction engineering firms want to pave the way for expansion of overseas markets through the World Bank's Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects as a way to improve their overseas project performance. However, since the World Bank project competes with global companies for limited projects, building partnerships with suitable business partners is essential to gain an upper hand in bidding competition and meet the institutional conditions of the recipient country. In this regard, many network studies have been conducted in the past through Social Network Analysis (SNA), but few have been analyzed based on the process of changes in the network. So, This study collected winning data from the three Southeast Asian countries that ended after the World Bank's ODA project performed smoothly, and established a learning-based link prediction model that reflected the dynamic nature of the network. As a result, the 11 main variables acting on building a cooperative relationship between winning companies were derived and the effect of each variables on the probability value of cooperation between individual links was identified.

  • ABR service is defined by ATM Forum and ITU for the efficient use of link bandwidth, and 2-pass service policing is proposed for this service. 2-pass service policing is effective by the real-time measurement of the used bandwidth, and this scheme obtains multiplexing gam and control efficiently ABR traffic as dynamically allocating rate by residual bandwidth information. In this study, we propose the real-time bandwidth prediction scheme for ABR traffic control, as using dynamic rate allocation by available bandwidth information. This study can obtain the simple hardware structure by means of as predicting available bandwidth by the total link bandwidth and the sum of transmission rate on the backlogged state connections.

  • 전력연구원에서는 ATM WAN 통합망 기반 구축을 통하여 통신회선 임대비용의 절감과 안정적이고 고속의 인터넷 서비스를 수용함으로써 통신망의 경쟁력을 확보하는 것을 목표로 ATM 기반 전력통신망을 설계하였다. 이를 위하여 기존의 패킷 통신망 트래픽 통계 분석결과와 연간 트래픽 증가량 예측치를 기반으로 향후 서비스 수용계획을 고려한 토폴로지와 링크용량을 설계하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 전력통신망에서의 ATM 스위치 기반 네트워크 모델을 확립하였다. 본 논문에서는 ATM 기반 전력통신망의 설계결과를 요약한다.

  • In this paper, we present the forward link ACM method to improve the link availability and system throughput. Also, we compare the prediction algorithm between slope based prediction and LMS algorithm. The simulation results show that the 99% of predicted values in LMS algorithm is within 3dB and that of predicted values in the slope based prediction method is within 4.5dB.

  • This paper proposes a routing scheme for multi-hop LEO satellite networks with inter-satellite links aiming for reducing the number of link handovers while keeping the efficient use of network resource. The proposed routing scheme controls the link handovers by taking account of the deterministic LEO satellite system dynamics, geographical location of a ground terminal and statistic information of call duration. The performance of the proposed routing scheme has been evaluated and compared with previous routing schemes in terms of average number of link handovers during a call, the call blocking and dropping probability, and the network utilization.

  • Due to its self-configuring nature, the tactical mobile ad hoc network is used for communications between tactical units and the command and control center (CCC) in battlefields, where communication infrastructure is not available. However, when a tactical unit moves far away from the CCC or there are geographical constraints, the data link between two communicating nodes can be broken, which results in an invalid data route from the tactical units to CCC. In order to address this problem, in this paper we propose a hierarchical connectivity maintenance scheme, namely ADLCoM (Autonomous Data Link Connectivity Maintenance). In ADLCoM, each tactical unit has one or more GW (gateway), which checks the status of data links between tactical units. If there is a possibility of link breakage, GWs request ground or aerial unmanned vehicles to become a relay for the data link. The simulation results, based on tactical scenarios, show that the proposed scheme can significantly improve the network performance with respect to data delivery ratio.

The Path Loss Estimation Model over the sea at 2.4 GHz Wireleless Network (해상 무선통신 네트워크에서 2.4 GHz 대역의 해수면 경로손실 예측 모델 연구)

  • 경로손실 예측 모델은 무선 네트워크 설계를 위한 기본 척도이며, 적용 환경과 적용 시스템에 영향을 받는 특징이 있다. 대부분의 기존 연구는 도심, 교외와 같은 육상 환경을 기반으로 한다. 일반적으로 해수면 경로 손실은 전파의 잦은 굴절로 인해 지표면 보다 크며, 주파수에 비례한 경로손실이 있다고 알려져 있다. 하지만 해상 환경의 관련 연구는 자유공간에 적용하기 때문에 예측 모델의 정확성을 낮춘다. 본 논문은 해상 무선통신 서비스를 위한 2.4 GHz 대역의 해수면 경로손실 예측 모델을 제안한다. 이를 위해 육상과 해상에서 각각 수신신호 세기를 측정하고, 다양한 예측 모델과 비교 분석하여 실용성과 정확성을 입증한다.

Artificial Intelligence Estimation of Network Flows for Seismic Risk Analysis (지진 위험도 분석에서 인공지능모형을 이용한 네트워크 교통량의 예측)

  • Earthquakes damage roadway bridges and structures, resulting in significant impacts on transportation system Performance and regional economy. Seismic risk analysis (SRA) procedures establish retrofit priorities for vulnerable highway bridges. SRA procedures use average daily traffic volumes to determine the relative importance of a bridge. This research develops a cost-effective transportation network analysis (TAN) procedure for evaluating numerous traffic flow analyses in terms of the additional system cost due to failure. An important feature of the TNA Procedure is the use of an associative memory (AM) approach in the artificial intelligence held. A simple seven-zone network is developed and used to evaluate the TNA procedure. A subset of link failure system states is randomly selected to simulate synthetic post-earthquake network flows. The performance of different AM model is evaluated. Results from numerous link-failure scenarios demonstrate the applicability of the AM models to traffic flow estimation.
