A systematic process for establishing basic system of corporate identification (CI 기본 시스템 구축을 위한 체계적 프로세스)

  • Recent Ci(Corporate Identification) booming in korea is representing the importance of managing corporate imge through design. This study aims to identify how corporations can establish desirable corporate image through the selection of basic elements (symbol, logotype, corporate color and others). One of the major reasons for the study is that the selecting procedure and evaluating criteria for basic elements are not well organuzed(or developed) yet. As the first step, the nature of managing corporato imnge, corporate identification and the needs of establishing process for CI basic system and field work. Then, the study suggested a systematic process for cstablishing basic systcm of corporate identity program. Finally, overall procedure and specific guidelines in each stage of the process in relation to the objectives of corporate activitice, basic corporate image strategios and the adoption patterns of CI have developed.

  • 회전기기의 운전 상태에서 on-line 부분 방전시험은 고정자 권선의 절연상태를 검사, 평가 할 수 있는 중요한 수단으로서 이러한 부분방전시험을 통하여 회전기기 시스템의 사고예방을 위한 진단을 할 수 있다. 기존의 비접촉식 센서인 SSC는 부분방전 측정을 위하여 권선의 웨지 아래에 설치하는 방식으로 개발되어 [1], 설치가 불편하고 Global VPI 방식으로 제작된 소형 회전기에는 설치할 수 없는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 소형 회전기에 사용가능한 저, 고주파용 부분방전 센서를 제안하였다. 웨지 위에 설치 가능한 SSC 형태의 마이크로스트립 센서 및 전송선로 이론을 이용한 2선 평행 전송선로 센서는 값이 싸고 소형 회전기에 설치할 수 있을 정도의 크기를 지니며, 기본적으로 센서의 구조가 고주파 웨이브가이드로서 고주파용 센서로 적합하다. 또한 저주파 신호를 검출하기 위한 센서로 로고우스키 코일 형태의 U 타입 센서는 와전류를 검출하는 센서로서 슬롯 외부에 설치 되어야 한다. 이러한 U 타입 센서와 마이크로스트립 센서 또는 2선 평행 전송선로를 동시에 설치할 경우 저, 고주파를 효과적으로 검출할 수 있다.

The Effect of Design Factors from Casual T-shirt on Sensibility of Consumer (캐주얼 티셔츠의 디자인 요소가 소비자 감성에 미치는 영향)

  • The objectives of this study are to identify sensibility factors involved in evaluating casual T-shirts design, and to analyze its effect on consumer sensibility, The consumer sensibility in evaluating casual T-shirts design consisted of three sub-dimensions, those are, 'stylishness', 'commonness', and 'activeness'. This study revealed that design factors of casual t-shirts, such as collar style, detail, position of logotype, size of logotype and demographic trait, have significant impact on the consumer sensibility. A few of scientific design methods were derived from the result of this study. A series of effective casual T-shirt prototypes, which was designed using these scientific methods, was presented to demonstrate how to achieve desired consumer impression. The derived scientific methods are expected to be used for specific valuation basis in design planning.

  • Local self-governing bodies have created community identity to activate local communities. community identity is one of the very effective ways to establish a different image from other self-governing bodies and to raise locals' love of hometown and sense of belonging. In addition to community identity., there are several things to form identity such as symbols (like flowers, birds, and animals) of local self-governing bodies or characters visualizing figures, tradition, and specialties of the region. Recently local governments have introduced various programs such as brand planning like city brand, and local events. This study analyses the basic elements, like symbol mark, logotype, and color, among visual elements of the current local self-governing bodies community identity. and conducts a comparative analysis of the visual elements of symbols and characters. The results show that those community identities and other design elements lack differentiation and consistency among visual elements. To create differentiated image of local self-governing bodies, it needs to develop unique and various themes of the region and to generate synergy effect through consistency and interactions among various visual effects based on community identity.

  • The cyber world is organically alive. It continues to evolve as humans interact with it. Real life and virtual reality are directly or indirectly connected through technology at the network terminal. Branding, in the cyber world, is created by BI(Brand Identity), using designed symbols and logotype developed with digital technology. The objective of this study is to improve the brand value of enterprises and organizations through the use of moving images to adapt to the mobile environment in this rapidly changing cyber world. First, the basic concepts of brand identity, structure, and integrated brand identity were studied. Next, case studies of overseas enterprise branding such Swisscom, HP, BBC were analyzed examining their design concepts and implementation of integrated moving brands. Finally, moving brand identity is explored, for value enhancement, in my projects in ACM SIG CHI 2015, HCI Korea 2014, Aegis Ship 'Yulgok YiYi.' with a discussion of design planning and results. This treatise will contribute to the improvement of brand strategy and design in this country.

  • In the current so-called age of emotion marketing, the independent form of handwriting of calligraphy is being revitalized in various fields such as advertising, book designs, film titles, posters, packages, BI, and even fashion. Thus centered on Gyeyang-gu at the city of Incheon, 100 outdoors signs that used calligraphy were chosen and we researched a reform plan that could revitalize calligraphy in outdoor signs by classifying them according to current conditions of the use of calligraphy, actual conditions of practical use, expression tools, and analyzing the use of colors. The result was trial requests not only from the formalities industry, but also the financial sector, public corporations, and several other businesses, but in order to provide not only for franchise brand logotypes manufactured by expensive experts, but also provide production of high-quality calligraphy for low costs for small private enterprises, the development of a diverse calligraphy education program, centered on the regional society, will be needed. In the midst of globalization, in order to advertise the beauty of Korean alphabet and to create our own unique street culture, a variety of tools and tactile expressions are demanded, in the future the research on the calligraphy of outdoor signs must be revitalized.

A Study on the Graphic Contents of Hyuk-Wha in the late Chosun Dynasty (조선후기 혁화의 그래픽 콘텐츠 연구)

  • About 18th century in the late Chosun dynasty, various kinds of 'Min-Wha' had played a significant role and had an important meaning in the lives of the people in that period. Therefore, both in material and in technique, so many diversified 'Min-Wha' were mass produced in that time. Starting from those backgrounds, 'Hyuk-Wha', is considered as one of unique style of expression. Though, 'Hyuk-Wha', in techniques, was originated from 'Bibaekseo' classified as one of the style of expression in Oriental drawing and writing art. 'Hyuk-Wha' shows and expresses visual differentiation from rough 'Bibaekseo', in substance, written by brush made from the skin of a willow tree or the stem of a sort of reeds. 'Hyuk-Wha', in mode, has very dose relation to the process of the development of 'Min-Wha'. Judging from this point of view, 'Hyuk-Wha' has deep relationship to Taosmic character painting of 'Gilsang: an auspicious sign' or Confucian character painting of 'Hyojae: filial piety. Accordingly, 'Hyuk-Wha' has been developed to that character painting designed by another type of creative differentiations. For these reasons, 'Hyuk-Wha' which significantly shapes and contains the meanings of Chinese Character also has been esteemed to have interrelation with Pictography in application of Word mark or Brand logotype in graphic areas. 'Hyuk-Wha' which was prevalent in use of home decorations for the people existed in the past has been ceased to exist nowadays in use of home decorations by appearance of all sort of decoration articles. All these days, 'Hyuk-Wha' which was diversified as a part 'Min-Wha' and developed together with oriental drawing and writing art and character painting is to be necessarily relighted. And 'Hyuk-Wha', which is also vigorously in practical application in Western Europe is desirable to be reconsidered.

A Study on the Characteristics and Utility of Oriental Calligraphy Technique (동양적 캘리그라피 기법의 특성과 활용에 관한 연구)

  • Nowadays calligraphy technique is widely utilized in diverse areas throughout the world. It is adopted in the visual environment of modern people comprehending from graphic design areas such as advertisement, package, symbol marks, logotypes, and movie posters to modern abstract paintings. It is because its dynamic and suggestive power of expression as symbolic and kinetic representation has been appreciated anew. In response to modern people's aversion from the mechanical and artificial digital environment as well as from the uniform, official, and modernistic trend, calligraphy technique is attracting people's attention as a new expressive style with oriental mysticism and emotional intimacy. Therefore, this study aims at illuminating the history of calligraphy, understanding its characteristics, searching for the expanded value of modern paintings and graphic designs, and ultimately contributing to the propagation of visual languages and expressive styles. In addition, this study attempted to establish the concept of Calli-Illust, which combines oriental painting techniques and materials and calligraphy techniques, and to explore for its potential uses in order to expand the area of illustration. According to the results of this study, calligraphy technique is a painting style of abstract expressionism, contributing to the expansion of the territory of a new formative area. Furthermore, this study proved that it is necessary to develop new expressive styles to overcome the limitation of design styles based on western rational, logical, and geometric functionalism, which have been received uncritically in the design environment of diversity. What is more, the concept and definition of calli-illust, which has been understood as a part of the concept of calligraphy so far, were clarified Research on calli-illust is just in its beginning stage. The present researcher expects that deeper and more extensive studies will be carried out in the future, so that calli-illust can be applied to communication design in various ways.
