최근 몇 년 동안, 레트로를 소재로 한 드라마가 다수 제작되고 있다. 레트로의 소재는 시청자의 과거의 기억을 상기시키면서, 감정에 호소한다. 바로 레트로 소재가 가지는 특징이자, 장점이기도 하다. 이에 연구자는 레트로를 소재로 한 텔레비전 드라마를 중심으로 분석하여 그 특성을 객관화하여 향후의 드라마 제작에 기여하고자 한다.

To study the mechanism of syncytium formation, novel syncytia-inducing ecotropic murine retrovirus was used. Our previous result showed that amino acid substitutions at the RBD (receptor binding domain) of envelope glycoprotein contribute to syncytium formation. In this study, we have investigated if this fusion phenomenon could occur with retroviral vectors pseudotyped with the novel syncytia-inducing ecotropic murine leukemia virus Env. We have found that these vectors were not able to mediate virus-to-cell fusion in M. dunni murine cell lines. These findings indicate that syncytia-inducing ecotropic murine leukemia virus is capable of generating syncytia during its replication. There was also no correlation between the level of ecotropic murine leukemia virus receptor (mCAT-1) and the fusogenic effect.

A serum-free media for CRIP/MFG-LacZ retrovirus production was developed and applied to continuous packed-bed culture system. The serum-free media developed by fractional factorial design contains indulin ($10\mug/mL$), transferrin ($5\mug/mL$), BSA (4 mg/mL), EGF (25 ng/mL), and linoleic acid ($10\mug/mL$). Operation of continuous packed-bed reactor using Fibra-cel enabled the packging cell to stably maintain retrovirus titer for about 1 week. The optimal operation conditions for dilution rate and temperature were 0.67(h(sup)-1) and $32^{circ}C$, respectively. Using this media, the retrovirus titer(cfu/mL) in the packed continuous culture was about 50% that of continuous culture with serum containing DMEM media.

Objective: To examine the efficacy of letrozole in infertile women showing a poor endometrial development at previous ovulation induction cycle by using clomiphene citrate. Methods: Eighteen infertile women were selected who showed a poor endometrial development (endometrial thickness$\leq$6.5 mm) after clomiphene treatment (50~100 mg) as ovulation induction for timed coitus. The mean age of the patients was $30.7{\pm}2.8$ years old and the mean duration of infertility was $33.1{\pm}26.6$ months. The infertility factors were identified as corrected endometriosis (n=1), polycystic ovary syndrome (n=5) and unexplained (n=12). Letrozole was given orally in a dose of 2.5 mg for 5 days starting 3~5 of menstrual cycle. Results: The number of follicles was significantly lower in the letrozole cycle when compared with previous clomiphene cycle ($1.1{\pm}0.3$ vs. $2.2{\pm}1.5$, p=0.011). The endometrial thickness (mm) at the time of triggering or LH surge was significantly greater in the letrozole cycle ($8.4{\pm}1.7$ vs. $5.8{\pm}0.5$, p<0.001). The endometrial pattern 'type C' was significantly higher in the letrozole cycle (94.4% vs. 50%, p=0.036). The pregnancy was achieved in 11.1% of the letrozole cycle. Conclusion: Use of letrozole was associated with more thick and improved endometrium than previous clomiphene cycles in which thin endometrium was identified. Use of letrozole appears to be an effective strategy for second-line treatment in women with inadequate endometrial response to clomiphene.

Human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) are fossil viruses that began to be assimilated into the human genome some 30~40 million years ago, and now constitute nearly 8% of the human genome. These ancient retroviruses have since accumulated mutations that have rendered them defective; thus, they have been termed junk DNA. However, recent research indicates that not all HERVs remain silent passengers. Although they have not been shown to be causative of any human disease, endogenous retroviral sequences may become expressed under select pathological circumstances such as neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis (MS), schizophrenia, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS); viral infections, including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and herpesvirus; and multiple types of cancers. This review focused on the possible interactions of HERVs and neurological diseases.

Recently, the retro content emerges one of the highest topics in the cultural content area. This retro content has been exponentially expanded through the series of and the success of the series highlights the importance of content that can cause user's emotional experience. Along the line, this research tries to know how the retro contents draw user's emotional experience beyond the role of just user's recall for the past through the Answer me 1994 syndrome. As the result of factorial analysis for the user's emotional experience, five factories were classified: the emotional experiences by music, item, sensory, story and actors exposed in the drama. Also, the five emotional experience factories influence the relations between the viewers and retro content. Specifically, the factories for the emotional experiences are statistically significant to the viewer's satisfaction. They significantly influence the viewer's trust and attachment for the retro content as well. The influence for the emotional experience factors which affect to viewer's satisfaction are music, item, sensory, story, and actors in order. The influence on the trust about the retro content are music, sensory, story, item in order. On the other hand, the emotional experience by actors are not significantly affect to the trust for the retro content. Lastly, The influence for the attachment about the retro content are music, item, actors, sensory, and story in order.

This study intends to discover characteristics and methods of retro image wedding dresses by analyzing prior studies about retro characteristics. The characteristics of retro image wedding dresses are as follows: 'Recreative Retro', Trend revival Retro', 'Nostalgic Retro' and 'Remixed Retro'. The expressional characteristics and methods of each character are as follows. The 'Recreated Retro' has been recreated in the wedding dresses worn by celebrities, actresses' wedding dresses in movies, and also in the famous designer's high end wedding dresses. These dresses do not merely duplicate the originals, but also reflect images, which were reproduced by combining modern technology. The 'Trend revival Retro' emerged as a combination of past fashion styles and new trends. It seems to stimulate the customers' reminiscence of past fashion trends and create unique designs through expressing the metaphor or the adaptation of past fashion styles. The 'Nostalgic Retro' started from the discovery of emotional values for something old or the inclination to be attracted to old styles. It has been expressed through design concepts with natural themes. The 'Remixed Retro' is from recombination of Retro elements. It is shown as a new interpretative code which explains how current time blends with different times.

에이즈 치료제로 강력한 항레트로바이러스 치료(highly active antiretroviral therapy;HAART)가 시작된 지 10년이 지났다. 그동안 효과적인 항레트로바이러스제의 가지 수도 늘었지만 좀 더 먹기 편하고, 부작용이 적은 약제 개발로 많은 발전이 있어왔다. HIV감염에 대한 최상의 치료는 효과적인 항레트로바이러스제를 적어도 3가지 약제 이상, 또한 2가지 계열 이상 병용하여 사용하는 칵테일요법이다. 현재의 이 약물치료는 효과적으로 에이즈 바이러스를 억제하고 기회 질환의 발생이나 사망을 현저하게 줄이는데 공헌하였다. 그러나 아직까지는 완치의 개념에는 도달하지 못하고 있다. 항레트로바이러스제의 적절한 사용은 혈중 HIV를 검출한계 미만으로 억제할 수 있고, CD4+ 림프구의 수를 증가시키는 치료효과를 보이지만 부수적으로 소수의 부작용이 동반될 수 있다. 여기서는 최근 국내에 들어와 있지 않거나 임상시험이 진행 중인 신약들과 기존 약제들 간의 차이점을 소개하고자 한다.

To verify enchancing effect of polycation of polycation on the retroviral infecivity, we directly measured the binding affinity of retroviruses to the target cells in the presence or in the absence of polybrene with R18 fluorescence assay and examined the effect of the polymers on the relationship between the host cell and the retroviral infecity. There was no difference in the effect of the types of charge of the polymer on the binding affinity. However, polycations, in general, show effect on the retrovirus infecity. This results suggest that the enhancing effect of polybrene and other polycations on the infecity is not due to the binding step but due to the post-binding steps, especially the internalization step. With the result of the internalization of FITC-labeled poly-L-lysine into the host cells, it is suggested that the uptake of polycations into the host cells would play a crucial role in the intermalization of retroviruses.
