A secure and effective on-chip bus for detecting and preventing malicious attacks by infected IPs is presented in this paper. Most system inter-connects (on-chip bus) are vulnerable to hardware Trojan (Malware) attack because all data and control signals are routed. A proposed secure bus with modifications in arbitration, address decoding, and wrapping for bus master and slaves is designed using the Advanced High-Performance and Advance Peripheral Bus (AHB and APB Bus). It is implemented with the concept that arbiter checks share of masters and manage infected masters and slaves in every transaction. The proposed hardware is designed with the Xilinx 14.7 ISE and verified using the HBE-SoC-IPD test board equipped with Virtex4 XC4VLX80 FPGA device. The design has a total gate count of 39K at an operating frequency of 313MHz using the $0.13{\mu}m$ TSMC process.

This paper describes a design of an elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) processor that supports five pseudo-random curves and five Koblitz curves over binary field defined by the NIST standard. The ECC processor adopts the Lopez-Dahab projective coordinate system so that scalar multiplication is computed with modular multiplier and XORs. A word-based Montgomery multiplier of $32-b{\times}32-b$ was designed to implement ECCs of various key lengths using fixed-size hardware. The hardware operation of the ECC processor was verified by FPGA implementation. The ECC processor synthesized using a 0.18-um CMOS cell library occupies 10,674 gate equivalents (GEs) and 9 Kbits RAM at 100 MHz, and the estimated maximum clock frequency is 154 MHz.

This paper describes a design of cryptographic processor that implements the AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) block cipher algorithm "Rijndael". To achieve high throughput rate, a sub-pipeline stage is inserted into a round transformation block, resulting that two consecutive round functions are simultaneously operated. For area-efficient and low-power implementation, the round transformation block is designed to share the hardware resources for encryption and decryption. An efficient on-the-fly key scheduler is devised to supports the three master-key lengths of 128-b/192-b/256-b, and it generates round keys in the first sub-pipeline stage of each round processing. The Verilog-HDL model of the cryptoprocessor was verified using Xilinx FPGA board and test system. The core synthesized using 0.35-${\mu}m$ CMOS cell library consists of about 25,000 gates. Simulation results show that it has a throughput of about 520-Mbits/sec with 220-MHz clock frequency at 2.5-V supply.

A 2-stage 1 watt MMIC(Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits) HPA(High Power Amplifiers) at 20 GHz band has been designed and fabricated. The $0.15\mu\textrm{m}$ with the width of $400\mu\textrm{m}$for single device pHEMT technology was used for the fabrication of this MMIC HPA. Due to the series feedback technique from source to ground, bias circuits and stabilization circuits on the main microstrip line, the stability factors(Ks) are more than one at full frequency. The independent operation for each stage and excellent S11, S22 less than -20 dB have been obtained by using lange couplers. For beginning the easy design, linear S-parameters have been extracted from the nonlinear equivalent circuit in foundry library, and equivalent circuits of devices at in/output ports were calculated from this S-parameters. The measured performances, which are in well agreement with the predicted ones, showed the MMIC HPA in this paper has the minimum 15 dB of linear gain, -20 dB of reflection coefficients and 31 dBm of output power over 17~25 GHz.

This paper presents a branch prediction algorithm and a 4-way set-associative cache for performance improvement of embedded RISC core and a clock-gating algorithm using ODC (Observability Don't Care) operation to improve the power consumption of the core. The branch prediction algorithm has a structure using BTB(Branch Target Buffer) and 4-way set associative cache has lower miss rate than direct-mapped cache. Pseudo-LRU Policy, which is one of the Line Replacement Policies, is used for decreasing the number of bits that store LRU value. The clock gating algorithm reduces dynamic power consumption. As a result of estimation of performance and dynamic power, the performance of the OpenRISC core applied the proposed architecture is improved about 29% and dynamic power of the core using Chartered $0.18{\mu}m$ technology library is reduced by 16%.

Data in a image compression codec are processed with a specific regular block size. The processing order of block sized data is changed in specific function blocks and the data is packed in memory and read by a new sequence. To maintain a regular throughput rate, double buffering is normally used that interleaving two block sized memory to do concurrent read and write operations. Single buffering using only one block sized memory can be adopted to the simple data reordering, but when a complicate reordering occurs, irregular address changes prohibit from implementing adequate address generating for single buffering. This paper shows that there is a predictable and recurring regularity of changing address access orders within a finite updating counts and suggests an effective method to implement. The data reordering function using suggested idea is designed with HDL and implemented with TSMC 0.18 CMOS process library. In various scan blocks, it shows more than 40% size reduction compared with a conventional method.

This paper proposes a hardware architecture for an efficient SAO(Sample Adaptive Offset) with low area for HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding) encoder. SAO is a newly adopted technique in HEVC as part of the in-loop filter. SAO reduces mean sample distortion by adding offsets to reconstructed samples. The existing SAO requires a great deal of computational and processing time for UHD(Ultra High Definition) video due to sample by sample processing. To reduce SAO processing time, the proposed SAO hardware architecture processes four samples simultaneously, and is implemented with a 2-step pipelined architecture. In addition, to reduce hardware area, it has a single architecture for both luma and chroma components and also uses optimized and common operators. The proposed SAO hardware architecture is designed using Verilog HDL(Hardware Description Language), and has a total of 190k gates in TSMC $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS standard cell library. At 200MHz, it can support 4K UHD video encoding at 60fps in real time, but operates at a maximum of 250MHz.
Web on Web 2.0 paradigm is regarded as a kind of platform. Accordingly, users on web can use almost same applications like using certain applications on personal computer, to given purposes. For Web as platform, it needs web-based or web-recognizable file format to communicate or to exchange various information contents and data among applied applications. Text-based JSON is a practical format directly linked Javascript on Web, so that XML-typed data, being previously built, can be possible for tagging process containing JSON format. However, GeoJSON handling geo-spatial data sets is now fledgling stage in standards. Thus, it is not on the practical applicability level, and there are a few tools or open sources for this format. To adopt GeoJSON for the future Geo-web application, users implement GeoJSON parser or apply the server-based open source GIS for their purpose. In this study, a preliminary work for GeoJSON application in Geo-web service carried out using Google Maps API and openlayers library API.

This paper describes a design of a lightweight security system-on-chip (SoC) suitable for the implementation of security protocols for IoT and mobile devices. The security SoC using Cortex-M0 as a CPU integrates hardware crypto engines including an elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) core, a SHA3 hash core, an ARIA-AES block cipher core and a true random number generator (TRNG) core. The ECC core was designed to support twenty elliptic curves over both prime field and binary field defined in the SEC2, and was based on a word-based Montgomery multiplier in which the partial product generations/additions and modular reductions are processed in a sub-pipelining manner. The H/W-S/W co-operation for elliptic curve digital signature algorithm (EC-DSA) protocol was demonstrated by implementing the security SoC on a Cyclone-5 FPGA device. The security SoC, synthesized with a 65-nm CMOS cell library, occupies 193,312 gate equivalents (GEs) and 84 kbytes of RAM.

In this paper a design of high performance cryptographic processor which implements AES Rijndael algorithm is described. To eliminate performance degradation due to round-key computation delay of conventional processor, the on-the-fly precomputation of round key based on modified round structure is adopted. And on-the-fly round key generator which supports 128, 192, and 256-bit key has modular structure. The designed processor has iterative structure which uses 1 clock cycle per round and supports three operation modes, such as ECB, CBC, and CTR mode which is a candidate for new AES modes of operation. The cryptographic processor designed in Verilog-HDL and synthesized using 0.251$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS cell library consists of about 51,000 gates. Simulation results show that the critical path delay is about 7.5ns and it can operate up to 125Mhz clock frequency at 2.5V supply. Its peak performance is about 1.45Gbps encryption or decryption rate under 128-bit key ECB mode.
