The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of parenting and peers on youth engagement to pornography media, the fourth year data of the fourth-grade panel (first year at middle school) and the fourth-year data of the eighth-grade panel (first year at high school) were analyzed. The number of cases investigated for this panel study were 2,378 subjects among the fourth-year panel of the fourth grade and 2,361 subjects among the fourth-year panel of middle schoolers. But this study, the total of 720 subjects that the response were made in the pornography items are analyzed. The result of this study reveals that male students were more likely to be addicted to pornography than female students. Also, inconsistency and excessive intervention among the parenting attitudes and peer attachment and numbers of delinquent friens among the peer factors were shown to have influence on youth addiction to pornography. Based on such results, a proposal that a plan to increase the parental education and strengthen peer relationships is important ahead of the Controlled intervention in the meantime was made.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the family and peer relationships on adolescents' self-esteem. The subject of this study were 563 students of second grade of middle school who reside in Bucheon, Geonggi-Do and 532 self reported questionnaires were used for final analysis. The findings of this study suggested that there was no significant difference between male and female adolescents in self-esteem. Second, adolescents' self-esteem were associated with relationship with parents, parental supervision, interparental conflict, friendship quality and peer victimization. Male adolescents' self-esteem was affected by peer victimization, relationship with parents, friendship quality. Female adolescents' self-esteem was affected by relationship with parents, friendship quality and peer victimization.
The purpose of this study was to examine how a creative musical play program affected peer relational skills of children in a community child center. The creative musical play program was implemented with six children in K Community Child Center for twenty (20) sessions. To investigate quantitative change, the Peer Relational Skills Scale and the Revised Social Skills Scale (for teachers) were filled out by children and teachers before and after the program. Also, to investigate musical and behavior changes related with peer relational skills in the creative musical program, the responses of children were categorized from the data of the children's responses according to previously identified sub-factors of peer relational skills. The results show that the participants' average scores presented an improvement in peer relational skills. Qualitative analysis of session logs presented that negative factors which had appeared in early sessions changed to positive traits as the sessions went on. In conclusion, the creative musical play program was effective in increasing peer relational skills of children in the community child center.
This study was done to explore the correlation among internet game addiction, family functioning, offense experience, victimization experience, possibility of peer violence and to identify factors related the possibility of peer violence. Participants were 789 elementary school students with survey. SPSS/WIN(20.0 version) were used to analyze the collected data. Internet game addiction was negatively correlated family functioning and was positively correlated the offense experience, victimization experience, possibility of peer violence. Multiple regression analysis showed the factors as offense experience of peer violence and relationship with teacher significantly accounted for 63.1% of the possibility of peer violence. In conclusion, it is need to health education for prevention of internet game addiction and breaking offense experience. The activating relationship with teachers are alternative plan that prevent to possibility of peer violence.
In recent years, the subject of peer rejection in school settings has received increased attention in the massmedia and counseling literature. This study focused on the effect of individual and environmental factors on peer rejection. Dependent variable was the number of perpetrating peer rejection and independent variables were psychological, behavioral, familial factors, exposure of peer rejection and perception about school policies. Ordered Probit model was employed because of the nature of limited dependent variable. The data were collected from 714 middle-school student in Seoul. Major findings were as follows. First of all, the adolescents who has aggression and problematic behaviors in school were more likely to participate in peer rejection. Second, negative parent-children relationships and the family structure didn't have significant effects on peer rejection. And there were not a significant effect of attitude toward academic value and academic achievement on peer rejection. Third, environmental risk factors such as negative peer relationship and the exposure to rejection had a significant increasing effect on peer rejection. But consistent school policies didn't have a significant effect. In conclusion, this study confirmed that peer rejection in school settings was affected by school environment such as negative-peer relationship, and exposure to rejection. Therefore, comprehesive and systematic intervention programs should be required to ensure that all the pupils at school have a right to learn in a safe and fear-free environment.
The aim of the present study was to analyze the factors that affects the peer attachment in Korean youth. Subjects were 419 middle school students (210 male, 209 female). Dependent variable was defined as peer attachment. Explanatory variables were included as gender, academic achievement satisfaction, subjective household economy level, parent - child dialogue frequency, subjective health status, depression symptom, self - esteem, subjective life satisfaction, and mobile phone dependency. In the multi-layer perceptron artificial neural network algorithm analysis, depression symptoms, gender, parent-child dialogue level for school life, subjective household economy level, subjective health status were significantly associated with peer attachment in Korean youth. Based on this result, systematic programs are required in order to prevention of peer attachment in Korean youth.

The purpose of this study is to develop and validate Inventory of Peer Relation for middle and high school students. First of all, in Study 1, 113 preliminary test questions were developed after reviewing of precedent studies in order to develop the Inventory of Peer Relation for Middle and High School Students. In Study 2, for the factor analysis, the survey was conducted for 600 students in three middle schools and three high schools in Busan to develop a final test, and finally 42 questions of them were selected. In Study 3, correlation analysis with another two inventories of peer relation was conducted to validate the developed Inventory of Peer Relation. The Inventory of Peer Relation developed through this study can be said reliable and valid. We made some suggestions for future studies.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the gender differences of peer relationship and to analyze the effects of the individual psychology and family variables on adolescents' peer relationships. The subject of this study were 1,444 students of second and third grade of middle school who reside in Seoul and 1,397 self reported questionnaires were used for final analysis. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the findings suggested that there were significant differences between female and male adolescents in peer relationships. Female adolescents' friendship quality was higher than male adolescents', and male adolescents' peer victimization was higher than female adolescents'. Second, higher self-esteem, positive parenting behavior, higher level of parental supervision and lower level of interparental conflict predicted higher level of friendship quality among male and female adolescents. Higher depression, lower self-esteem, positive parenting behavior, lower level of parental supervision and higher level of interparental conflict predicted higher peer victimization among male and female adolescents.

This study was to investigate the moderating effect of the protective factors in the relationship between impulsivity and suicide behavior of elementary school students. This study surveyed total 573 elementary school students located in Seoul. They completed survey questionnaires of impulsivity, suicide behavior and protective factors. Collected data was examined using correlation analyses and hierarchical multiple regression analyses. First, a total of 29(5.1%) students reported suicide plan, 17(3.0%) students reported suicide attempts and the rate of suicide behavior was 7.1%(n=41). Second, there was a negative relationship between impulsivity and protective factors and a positive relationship between impulsivity and suicide behavior. Also, it was found that the protective factors(individual factor, family factor, peer factor, school factor) moderated the relationship between impulsivity and suicide behavior of elementary school students. The implications and limitations of this study were discussed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the gender differences in depression and the effects of individual and family variables on depression among male and female adolescents. The subjects of this study were high school students who reside in Seoul. Data from 735 adolescents(342 males, 393 females) were used for final analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: First, there were gender differences in depression of adolescents. Females experienced higher levels of depression than males. Second, depression of adolescents were predicted by self-esteem, peer relations, and parent' marital conflict. Lower self-esteem, poor peer relations and higher parent' marital conflict were associated with higher levels of depression among male and female adolescents.
