  • This study searches for an abstract aesthetic dimension that has an important response to preference by finding products excluded in past studies on aesthetics. Furthermore, the adjective image languages are examined, grouped and examined in order to also take into account the dimensions that are regarded as important for the selected product. Based on this, the preference trends will be inferred and the level of aesthetic dimensions that are import in the product will be found and presented based on its preference to create an accurate objective point. Based on the values of the levels of the aesthetic preference types and aesthetic elements found by this and presenting the preferred types in the design process, the objective of this study is to create designs with small chance of failure. In addition, it attempts to present a new direction for research of aesthetic dimensions.

  • This paper shows the need to study the commercialized color book game screen composition and manipulation interface type in order to enhance the utilization of the serious game mobile coloring book game, which is utilized from the learning of color sense in modern people and children to the hobby life of adults or old people. For the healing of modern people, we are going to look at the design configuration of game screen interfaces in simple and fun mobile coloring book games, and propose a new way to improve interface design that improves uncomfortable design by organizing and analyzing basic interface UI design types.

  • 본 연구는 제 1보와 2보로 구성되었으며, 본 연구의 목적은 1) 동작 인식형 입력기술에 기반한 디지털웨어(이하, DMDI로 약칭함)의 의류상품화 가능성을 탐색하고, 2) 소비자의 잠재적 수요에 기초하여 DMDI의 디자인을 개발하는 것이다. 제 1 보에서는 소비자의 DMDI 에 대한 잠재수요를 고찰하기 위하여, 디자인 에스노 그래피적 견지에 기초하여 개발된 심층면접 방식 및 범주분석 방식을 취하였다 그 분석 결과를 토대로 하여, DMDI를 위한 7가지의 가능성있는 애플리케이션 영역과 DMDI의 6가지 디자인 방향이 제안되었으며, 이를 토대로 디자인 프로토타입 개발을 위한 기본형 디자인을 제시하였다. 제 2보에서는 제 1보의 결과를 토대로 하여 DMDI의 디자인 프로토타입을 개발하였다. 본 학술발표는 제 1보의 내용을 중심으로 하여 DMDI에 대한 소비자 수요의 분석결과와 DMDI를 위한 기본형 디자인을 주요 내용으로 구성하였다.

New Platform of Orientalism-Based Design Education (동양성 기반의 디자인 교육의 새로운 플랫폼)

  • As the recognition toward the Korean design education development to nurture creative talents for the future society has been expanded recently, various supports and promoting strategies are being suggested. This study suggests the orientalism-based new design education platform in design education field to nurture creative talents. To have the competitiveness of creative talent nurturing, the system and education programs to rear creative talents are required. The purpose of this study is to suggest the new platform for the change of direction in design education and search for the methods in detail. The research process can be described as following: First, this study stated about the research background and its boundary. Based on the literature review and the condition of the crisis of Korean design education (Korean Industrial Statistic Investigation), it described the current condition and the characteristics. Second, this study stated about the education which will be disappeared in the information society, the change of direction in design education, and the new platform. In the current study, the change toward the strategies that give priority to the growth strategies on the knowledge-based industry was stated. Third, this study stated about that the future design education should be centered on the orientalism-based creativity in the trend changing to the six conditions for the future talents and the beliefs and values toward Asia, and what methods should be sought to achieve this trend. It suggested focusing on the aim for the direction for College education and its program curriculums as the solutions in detail. Fourth, based on the contents stated earlier in this study, it stated synthetically the direction of practice through the network of the design cluster and derived the implications. In conclusion, based on the recent orientalism-based mind, this study suggested the ways to find the identity of Korean design education itself and have the competitiveness in design education programs. The ways to secure them is to come from the integrated system innovation of the network. By actively applying the design clusters, colleges and universities, designers, studios, government policy organizations, design institutes, corporates, media, and fairs, this study suggests the sustainable education system and the practical methods.

A Study on the Change of Design Terms in Multimedia Age (다 매체 시대에 있어서 디자인 용어 변천에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the four aspects of design terminology : dictionary, legal, academic, and popular according to the changes of various media and the stream of times and to establish a basic framework for design terms that can be refined in time. Based on an understanding of the essential meaning of design terms, it provides the basis for establishing the basic direction of the use of design terms that can be used between the design industry and other industries. The research methods are as follows: First, the preliminary meaning of design terms was examined through previous studies. Second, the present state of use of design terms was analyzed using the Internet and various network media. Third, through interviews with experts in each design field, the criteria of contemporary design terms was explored. Ultimately, the direction to establish design terms was derived through these research processes. The result of this study is meaningful to provide the new index of the time and conceptual change of design terms. In the future, it will be necessary to expand the research on design common terms continuously in design-related academia and related industries, and try to establish professional and popular design terms through diverse opinions.

The Design Museum as a Promoter (디자인 진흥 기관으로서의 디자인 박물관)

  • After the establishment of the world's first design museum in London, design museums have - despite the criticism regarding commercialization and centralization - contributed to improving both the quality of life and the national competitiveness in establishing a design identity and promoting the excellence of design by preserving and cultivating the design industry. With the increase in the value of design in the cultural economy of the 21$^{st}$ century, the need for Korean design museums has been growing. Given this, the purpose of this study is to serve as a fundamental basis in introducing a new role and direction for future Korean design museums. In order to provide a foundation for such innovation, the evolved role and the promotional strategies of design museums are examined through the diachronic and synchronic approaches.

뉴미디어 시대 전문대학 디자인 교육 전략과 문제점 연구 - 커뮤니케이션 툴 학습기능을 중심으로 -

  • 본 연구는 전문대학 디자인 교육의 문제를 점검하고, 전문대학만의 차별화 된 디자인 교육을 위한 전략과 방향을 정보화에 기반한 커뮤니케이션 툴 학습기능을 중심으로 찾아보는 것이 목적이다. 연구 방법은 주로 문헌 조사 방법을 사용 했다. 전문대학 디자인 관련 현황과 문제점을 분석하고, 새로운 학습체제의 대안을 제시 했다. 연구에서 도출한 결론은 첫째, 전문대학 디자인 교과과정은 중견 직업인 양성 목적 보다는 4년제 교과과정의 모방이며 둘째, 학과목의 연계성 부족과 과도한 학과목으로 전문성 양성과 거리가 있고 셋째, 정보화와 멀티미디어화 등에 대한 대응력에서 취약하며 넷째, 학교 시설과 교수 인력에 한계가 있다. 이에 인터넷등 네트워크 미디어를 통해 가상학교를 구축, 상호 시너지를 확보하는 전략 전개의 필요성을 제시했다. 결론적으로 본 연구 논문은 전문대학의 현실적 디자인 교육 진단을 근거로, 국가적인 교육 정보화 정책과 세계적인 사이버 교육의 트렌드를 접합하여 현실적인 대안을 제시했다.

A Study of the sustainable Design Direction for a City Commuter Vehicle (씨티 커뮤터 자동차를 위한 지속 가능한 디자인 방향에 관한 연구)

  • This thesis is about design spirit demanded by the 21st century vehicle design studied in consideration of city commuter. First of all, going over the transition of the last century vehicle design led to the arrangement of the changes in vehicle models. Even though the invention of vehicles brought about immense improvement in living standard of the people, it also brought about other factors that were harmful for human living. Through this realization the main fact that should be emphasized is that the vehicles in 21s1 century should not be a threat to the human life or be the main cause for the environmental pollution of the earth. With the question as to whether the vehicles development direction at the beginning of the year 2000 like the Retro design and Hybrid-Compact car development is appropriate to these demands, the development of City Commuter vehicle (the most human and environment-friendly concept which can also serve as the connecting means in transportation system) and its case studies were compared. Through this, the design spirit that should be inherent in environment and vehicle human and vehicle relationships and the design factors needed for the continuous development of the vehicles were arranged.(classified) Rather than suggesting a new direction for the specific style for vehicle design, this thesis is to emphasize that to improve the standard living of the people with vehicle as a product that will be continually produced in the 21st century, the morals and the mission of the designers about the environment and humanity recovery should be the core of the active movement and education of vehicle design.

  • In recent years, graphics authoring tools have evolved into a variety of formats in line with the rapidly changing digital design field. However, in the field of interface design, screen shape and size depending on the user's environment, it needs more flexible and scalable authoring tools. Along with the emergence of variety of new tools, work processes are also changing. This study investigates what kinds of graphic authoring tools are currently used by designers and compared the result to the case of overseas and examined the difference in the environment of graphic authoring tool. This study looked at criteria and satisfaction of designers choosing authoring tools and how the choice depends on the type of company we are working in and the type of project we are involved in. Research shows that the choice of authoring tools depends on the type and efficiency of the project. Based on this, a reference is provided to establish the standard and working environment for designers and companies to select graphic authoring tools and propose the future direction of graphic authoring tool environments.

A Study on the Analysis of the Morphological Attributes for the Design Development of LED Lighting Fixtures (LED조명등기구 디자인 개발을 위한 형태적 속성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to establish the standards to give the design weight in case when developing equipment designs, by classifying products with similar purposes in accordance with the morphological characteristics and also extracting the typicality. Limiting the sampling group for the extraction of the typicality to a pendant-type and a ceiling buried-type through the preceding case study and consultation with experts, the survey was conducted for majors and relevant workers in six cities, sampling products released in Korea and Japan before May 2016. The 1st survey was about the Morphological classification, and the 2nd times about the extraction of the typicality while the 3rd one was about the classification of the morphological attributes. By drawing the design attributes based on the functional/morphological classification and formative principles, it aimed to establish the base of the future research on the measurement of design weight. The results of this study aim to efficiently establish the roles of design technology in accordance with changes in the lighting fixture market caused by the substitution of light sources, and also to draw the development direction to rapidly cope with the accelerated changes in lighting design types and corporate R&D.
