  • Recently, acccording to price decline and miniaturization of drone, it is increased dramatically that drone usage in various category including military and private sectors. In accordance with popular usage, There is a increasing risk of safety accident, national security and public privacy problem. Hence there is a high demand for study and analysis applicable to the related technology and anti-drone method including drone detection and jamming. In general, it is extremely difficult to detect and recognize drones using conventional sensors. In this paper, we classify drone detection technology and Drone detection experiments are performed using CW RADAR to obtain and analyze micro-doppler pattern. This preliminary study aims to provide fundamental theory on radar drone detection and experimental test results such that in-depth anti-drone technology can be established in future.

  • The absolute dependence on GPS signals for positioning, unstable flight, and short flight time due to battery limitations are the major problems to extend the practical use of drones in the industry. In particular, the short flight time of about 20 minutes is a big issue to the use of drones, and to overcome this, the liquid hydrogen powered drone is being actively developed. However, the revision of the current regulation and certification system for liquid hydrogen powered drone has not been completed yet, making it difficult to test, certify, and commercialize the hydrogen powered drone, which eventually becomes a problem in pre-occupying the increasing drone market. In this paper, we analyze the development trends of hydrogen powered drone and provide the current issues on regulations and certification systems for hydrogen powered drone.

  • As the drones industry evolved, the security of the drone network has been important. In this paper, MTD (Moving Target Detection) technique is applied to the drone network for improving security. The existing MTD scheme has a risk that the hash value is exposed during the wireless communication process, and it is restricted to apply the one-to-many network. Therefore, we proposed PHT (Preposition Hash Table) scheme to prevent exposure of hash values during wireless communication. By reducing the risk of cryptographic key exposure, the use time of the cryptographic key can be extended and the security of the drone network will be improved. In addition, the cryptographic key exchange is not performed during flight, it is advantageous to apply PHT for a swarm drone network. Through simulation, we confirmed that the proposed scheme can contribute to the security of the drone network.

  • With the development and popularization of drone manufacturing technology, the drone market, which was mainly focused on industry, agriculture, and military, is also showing great growth in individual and commercial markets. Among them, DJI has a high share in the personal and commercial drone market, and accordingly, forensic analysis of DJI drones is drawing attention. In particular, when stealing and analyzing drones used in criminal acts, a technology to interpret flight logs recording drone flight paths and hardware information is needed, which inevitably applies drone models due to differences in decryption methods. Therefore, when an unidentified drone is acquired from the perspective of a digital forensic investigator, a clear classification of a drone model to which analysis can be applied is required. This paper proposes a method of extracting and analyzing artifacts of DJI drones through forensics, and analyzes media data analysis and flight log analysis results and decryption methods for three drone models with different release years of DJI. Finally, drones in the DJI product line are classified according to whether the commercialized DJI drone flight log is decrypted.

  • With the development of drone and ICT convergence technology, the use of underwater drones such as leisure underwater drones such as underwater exploration for fishing and industrial drones such as bridge piers is increasing. Existing motor controllers are suitable for aerial drones and these can increase the completeness of underwater drones and their reliability in motor control by developing BLDC motor controllers dedicated to underwater drones. By developing a battery management system (BMS) exclusively for underwater drones, battery stability was ensured by checking the state of charge, checking the state of discharge, adjusting cell balancing, and implementing high/voltage protection functions.

  • The government sees drones as a key future growth engine, prepares plans to foster the nation-led drone industry, conducts pilot projects in various fields, such as transporting goods, forest protection, monitoring, facility safety diagnosis, and is actively in the use of drones. In particular, the police are attempting to use drones to search for missing people. However, existing drones have a short operating time due to the limitation of battery time. The effectiveness of the existing drones is insufficient because it has no choice but to search by aerial photography on the mountain tops in hillside or dense forest. In this study, we propose an FPV drone that utilizes virtual reality as a drone that can overcome the limitations of searching for missing people.
