The Experimental Study on the Effect of Track System on the Integral Behavior of Railway Bridge (궤도시스템이 철도교량의 정.동적거동에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Track system and periodic live load are characteristics of railway bridges. In the design and construction of railway bridge, periodic live load increases the importance of dynamic behavior. And It is well known that behavior of railway bridge may be affected by track system in real bridge. Through experimental study, static and dynamic behaviors were investigated. Deflection and stress due to bending moment were measured, the location of neutral axis of each section, natural frequency, damping ratio were analyzed for each three track systems - girder only, installed ballast track system and installed concrete slab track system. According to measured values for the each type of track system, concrete track system increases the stiffness of bridge by 50%, and ballast system does by 7%, dynamic responses of structure change linearly with the magnitude of load and location of neutral axis of each sections varies with each track system. Damping ratio is almost equal without and with track. Therefore, the effects of track system on the integral behaviors of railway bridge can not be ignored in the design of bridge, especially in the case of concrete slab track system. So study of the quantitative analysis method for effects of track system must be performed.

A Dynamic Kernel Update System with a Function Granularity for Linux (리눅스 환경에서의 함수 단위 동적 커널 업데이트 시스템의 설계와 구현)

  • Dynamic update of kernel can change kernel functionality and fix bugs in runtime. Dynamic update is important because it leverages availability, reliability and flexibility of kernel. An instruction-granularity update technique has been used for dynamic update. However, it is difficult to apply update technique for a commodity operating system kernel because development and maintenance of update code must be performed with assembly language. To overcome this difficulty, we design the function-granularity dynamic update system which uses high-level language such as C language. The proposed update system makes the development and execution of update convenient by providing the development environment for update code which is same for kernel development. We implement this system for Linux and demonstrate an example of update for EXT3 file system. The update was successfully executed.

Performance Analysis of a Dynamic Priority Control Scheme for Delay-Sensitive Traffic (음성 트래픽을 위한 동적우선권제어방식의 성능분석)

  • This paper considers the performance of a dynamic priority control function (DPCF) of a threshold-based Bernoulli priority jump (TBPJ) scheme. Loss-sensitive and delay-sensitive traffics are applied to a system with a TBPJ scheme that is a general state-dependent Bernoulli scheduling scheme. Loss-sensitive and delay-sensitive traffics represent sound and data, respectively. Under the TBPJ scheme, the first packet of the loss-sensitive traffic buffer goes into the delay-sensitive traffic buffer with Bernoulli probability p according to system states which represent the buffer thresholds and the number of packets waiting for scheduling. Performance analysis shows that TBPJ scheme obtains large performance build-up for the delay-sensitive traffic without performance degradation for the loss-sensitive traffic. TBPJ scheme shows also better performance than that of HOL scheme.

  • The dynamic balancing of a rotor system is needed to alleviate the imbalances originating from various sources encountered during blade manufacturing processes and environmental factors. This work aims at developing a comprehensive analysis system which consists of cumulative module of test D/B and selection of optimal control parameters. This system can be used for the dynamic balancing of helicopter rotors based on tracking results from the whirl tower test. For simplicity of the analysis, a linear relation is assumed between the balancing input parameters and the blade track responses leading to influence coefficients and thereby the rotor system identification is made. In addition, the balancing parameters of the individual blades are sought using the genetic algorithm and the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated in comparison with the test results.

  • 사용자 프로그램의 I/O 패턴을 분석하거나 파일 시스템의 워크로드를 보다 정확하게 분석하기 위해서 실제 가동중인 파일 시스템의 동적 I/O 로그를 확보하기 위한 연구들이 많이 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 대량의 I/O 트렌젝션(transcation)이 처리되는 파일 시스템에서 동적 I/O 로그를 확보하는 일은 시스템의 부하와 막대한 데이터량 때문에 한계가 많다. 특히 다수의 이용자가 사용하는 대용량 분산/병렬 파일 시스템에서의 I/O Tracing은 로컬 파일 시스템에서 I/O Tracing에 비해 더욱 복잡하고 오버헤드가 크다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 파일 시스템 로깅 방법들을 알아보고, 클러스터 시스템에서 널리 이용되고 있는 분산 파일 시스템인 PVFS(Parallel Virtual File System)에서 동적 I/O 연산들의 로그를 생성할 수 있는 로깅 시스템을 제안하고 설계하였다.

A Study on SoC Platform Design Supporting Dynamic Cooperation between Hardware and Software Modules (하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 모듈간의 동적 협업을 지원하는 SoC 플랫폼 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents and analyzes a novel technique that makes it possible to improve the performance of low-end embedded systems through SoC(System-on-a-Chip) platform supporting dynamic cooperation between hardware and software modules. Traditional embedded systems with limited hardware resources have the poor capability of carrying out multi-tasking jobs including complex calculations. The proposed SoC platform, which provides dynamic cooperation between hardware and software modules, decomposes a single specific system into tasks for given system requirements. Additionally, we also propose a technique for efficient communication and synchronization between hardware and software tasks in cooperation with each other. Several experiments are conducted to illustrate the application and efficiency of the proposed SoC platform. They show that the proposed SoC platform outperforms the traditional embedded system, where only software tasks run, as the number of memory access is increased and the system become more complex.

  • Navigation problems include the task of determining the control input under various constraints for systems such as mobile robots subject to uncertain disturbance. Such tasks can be modeled as constrained stochastic control problems. In order to solve these control problems, one may try to utilize the dynamic programming(DP) methods which rely on the concept of optimal value function. However, in most real-world problems, this trial would give us many difficulties; for examples, the exact system model may not be known; the computation of the optimal control policy may be impossible; and/or a huge amount of computing resource may be in need. As a strategy to overcome the difficulties of DP, one can utilize ADP(approximate dynamic programming) methods, which find suboptimal control policies resorting to approximate value functions. In this paper, we apply recently proposed ADP methods to a class of navigation problems having complex constraints, and observe the resultant performance characteristics.

  • 본 논문에서는 전용 코드 방식의 CDMA 슬롯 ALOHA 시스템에서 패킷 전송 확률을 동적으로 제어하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 전용 코드 방식의 CDMA 슬롯 ALOHA 시스템에서는 고유의 확산코드론 이용하여 패킷을 전송하므로 패킷 충돌로 인한 전송 실패는 없는 반면, 다원 접속 간섭에 의한 비트 오류가 패킷 전송의 실패 요인 된다. 제안한 알고리즘에서는 기지국이 망의 부하에 따라 단말기들의 패킷 전송 확률을 계산하여 방송하고, 단말기에서는 이를 기반으로 패킷 전송을 시도한다. 성능 분석의 결과, 제안한 알고리즘은 망의 부하에 따라 적응적으로 전송 확률을 제어함으로써 동시에 전송되는 패킷의 수를 일정하게 유지시킬 수 있었으며, 이로 인하여 시스템 성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

웹에서 운영되는 그래프 모형을 위한 동적인 분석 시스템

  • 그래프 대수선형모형은 계층적 대수선형모형의 부분집합이며 연관 그래프로 모형을 나타낼 수 있다. 또한 그래프 대수선형모형은 연관 그래프에서 엣지를 추가하거나 제거하는 것으로 분석을 수행할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 그래프 대수선형모형이 가진 이러한 특징을 이용한 분석 시스템을 구현하였으며, 본 논문을 통해 이를 소개하고자 한다. 구현된 시스템은 분석자와 상호작용하며 분석결과를 시각적으로 평가할 수 있는 동적 연관 그래프를 제공하며, 단순한 마우스 조작에 의해 명령어 없이 자료입력만으로도 분석을 수행할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 또한 시스템은 자바 애플릿과 어플리케이션으로 구현되었기 때문에 월드 와이드 웹에서 운영할 수 있다.
