The Structural Relationship between SNS Tourism Information Value, Perceived Risk, and Tourism Destination Switching Behavior (SNS관광정보가치와 지각된 위험, 관광지 전환행동 간 구조적 관계 연구)

  • This study aims to prove the value of SNS tourism information by confirming the relation between SNS tourism information and perceived risk and by verifying its influence on the intention to switch tourism destination. The data was collected from 302 tourists. For data analysis, SPSS 18.0 program and AMOS 18.0 were conducted. First, functional characteristics of SNS tourism information have been verified to have no relationship with the tourist's perception of risk, and therefore the functional tourism information is thought to cause individual motive regardless of tourist's perception of risk. Second, aesthetic value and economic benefits of SNS tourism information have been analyzed to reduce perceived risk of tourists. Third, a symbol of SNS Tourism information has proved to be an element that increases the risk perceived by tourists, indicating that various kinds of tourism information provided by other channels including SNS can serve as a momentum to make tourists recognize new risks the other way round as new tourism information is accumulated, which acts as new motivating factor.

Validation of the Korean Version of the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Scale (한국판 동성애자/양성애자 다차원 정체성 척도 타당화)

  • The purpose of this study was to translate and validate the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Scale(LGBIS), which is a scale measuring the multidimensional identities of sexual minorities. For this, we conducted an exploratory factor analysis using a sample of 201 LGBs(homosexuals and bisexuals). Identical to the original scale, eight factors were extracted from the translated scale(i.e., concealment motivation, identity uncertainty, internalized homonegativity, difficult process, acceptance concerns, identity superiority, identity centrality, and identity affirmation), but one item was removed. In addition, the reliability coefficients of the eight factors except for concealment Motivation were satisfactory. The Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the 8-factor model had a good fit to the data. Finally, to verify the criterion validity, correlation among each eight factor and the scales measuring the identity related scale and the psychological-functioning scale were analyzed. In conclusion, the Korean version of the LGBIS consists of 8 factors and 26 items in total. Also it was found to be a valid measure for LGBS in Korea as well.

The Mediation Effects of Post-retirement Preparation on Active Ageing and Productive Aging: Based on Theory of Planned Behavior (중고령 근로자의 활동적 노년과 생산적 노년의 영향요인 비교: 계획된 행동이론을 통한 검증)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare rational process of active ageing and productive aging based on the theory of planned behavior. The effect of post-retirement may be influenced by attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control for old aged workers, then we tested the effect of mediating role of post-retirement preparation on active ageing and productive aging. And we conducted additional analyses of mediating role of post-retirement preparation respectively. Conducting a survey research to 192 employed old aged workers, the data was analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling. The result of this study found the positive effects of attitude and perceived behavioral control on active ageing through post-retirement preparation. There were negative effect of subjective norms and positive effect of perceived behavioral control on productive aging through post-retirement preparation. According to additional analyses, the mediating effect of social post-retirement preparation was significant on active ageing, and the mediating effect of emotional and social post-retirement preparation was significant on productive aging. Suggestions for future research and practical implications were provided based on the findings.

Effects of Risk Generation Factors Perceived by Fire Service Officers on a Public Service Motivation and a Vocational Calling (소방공무원이 지각하는 위험유발요인이 공공서비스동기, 직업소명에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of the risk generation factors on the public service motivation and a vocational calling of fire service officers during their work. This is based on the assumption that the risk generation factors of firefighters in their organization should be related to the effectiveness of the organization by affecting the psychological capital of the individual. For this study, the survey was conducted on fire service officers who participated the official training session in Kyuunggi and Seoul area and analyzed the data collected by the regression analysis and t-test analysis. As a result, the higher the perception of generation factors, the higher the level of public service motivation and vocational calling. In addition, there was a significant difference between a high risk generation factor perception group and low risk group regarding the perception level of public service motivations and vocational callings. These results show that there is a need to provide more field-based training opportunities for firefighters who can recognize the risk generation factors better.

The Effect of Individual Motivated Propensity on Perceived Characteristics and Use Intentions for Mobile Medical Service (개인 동기성향의 차이가 스마트폰 의료서비스 사용의도에 미치는 영향에 대한 구조관계 연구)

  • This paper attempts to analyze how the psychological factors would have an effect on the user's intention to make use of the mobile care via smart-phone, identifying the relationships among individual motivation propensity that consists of prevention propensity and promotion propensity, perceived usefulness and ease of use, perceived cost, behavioral use attitude and use intention based on technology acceptance model, and verifying them empirically through the structural equation modeling. The findings are as the followings. First, prevention motivation propensity affects positively on usefulness of smart-phone for mobile care service, but there are no significant indications that it affects on the ease of use and perceived cost. Second, promotion propensity affects positively on perceived ease of use and perceived cost of smart-phone for mobile care service, but there is no significant indication that it affects on perceived usefulness. Third, perceived usefulness and ease of use, and perceived cost affects positively on the use attitude. In sum, this paper confirms that the prevention propensity and promotion propensity might be used as antecedent variables for developing new smart-phone services of mobile care.

Disparities in Perceived Constraints and Loyalty Based on Motivation to Visit Ecologically Sensitive Area(ESA) - Visitors to DMZ Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil - (생태민감지역 트레일 방문동기별 지각된 제약요인과 충성도 차이 - DMZ평화누리길 방문객을 대상으로 -)

  • This research was conducted to understand the extent to which visitors to the DMZ Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Trail(located in one of the most Ecologically Sensitive Areas(ESA) of Korea) are motivated by perceived constraints and loyalty to the trail. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to the participants of the '2010 DMZ Border Trekking Course', which resulted in collecting 317 valid responses. For statistical tests, the respondents were divided into three clusters(accidental, activity-driven, and nature-driven) by their motivation for the visit. ANOVA was conducted to examine if the three groups differ in terms of the perceived constraints and loyalty to the DMZ Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Trail. The results showed that nature-driven visitors were more likely to perceive "psychological constraints" than accidental or activity-driven visitors. As for loyalty, accidental visitors displayed the lowest level of loyalty while nature-driven visitors indicated the highest level of loyalty. These results illustrate that nature-driven visitors not only have the strongest desire to experience and learn about ESAs but also possess the highest sense of loyalty to the trail. It can further be argued that nature-driven visitors are the ones with the greatest concern for the trail's well-being. The paper concludes with the contention that understanding the demand and characteristics of trail visitors is critical to the future development of the trail.

Examination of the Learning Motivational Process Models Based on Self-determination theory (자기결정이론을 토대로 한 학습동기 경로 모형 검증)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine learning motivational process models, based on Self-Determination Theory(SDT) in academic settings. I examined if SDT's assumptions would fit for Korean adolescents, using a learning motivation scale(LMS), Basic Needs-autonomy, competence, and relatedness-Satisfaction Scale(BNSS), academic grades and life-quality scales, and also tried to search for the adequate motivational process models for Korean adolescents through regression analysis and structural equation model analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Basic needs satisfaction influences positively on the development of self-determinative motivation, which influences positively on academic achievement. But academic achievement and self-determinative motivation doesn't always influence on subjective well-being positively. And Korean adolescents who study autonomously or achieve good grades, are not better in a dimension of subjective well-being than others. Basic needs satisfaction while growing is more important than any other variables to improve adolescents' autonomous motivation, academic achievement and subjective life qualities.

Disadvantaged Gifted Students' Characteristics and Needs in Daegu and Kyongsang-Bukdo Providence (대구·경북지역 소외계층 과학영재의 특성 및 요구분석)

  • This study aimed to analyze the disadvantaged gifted students' affective characteristics and needs. The subjects of this study were 93 disadvantaged gifted elementary and middle school students in Daegu and Kyongsang-Bukdo Providence. The survey questionnaires including learning motivation, beliefs on intelligence, beliefs on academic achievement, interpersonal relationship, family variables, affective characteristics related to science and self-esteems were used to investigate their affective characteristics and needs. The results indicated that the disadvantaged gifted students showed the different characteristics on their intelligence, academic achievement, and family variables compared to those of general gifted students. They showed that they needed the financial and affective supports including transportation and continuous attention to disadvantaged gifted students.

A Study on the Relativity of Mathematical Anxiety Depending on the Types of Students' Characteristics (성격유형에 따른 수학불안 관련성 연구)

  • This study examined and compared the level of mathematical anxiety according to the types of students' characteristics based on the former research study showing that there exists a close relationship between characteristics and mathematical anxiety. The subjects of this study are 159 students enrolled in Chungnam Gongju and Kyunggi-do Ahnyang. They were categorized into groups following various standards such as preference index(E-1, S-N, T-F, J-P), ability & disposition, 16 types of characteristics. Then these were tested for types and the level of mathematical anxiety by the factors of mathematical anxiety. The results show that Type E students show the greatest anxiety in learning motivation, and Type N students in the pedagogy of teaching and loaming for the subfactor of mathematical anxiety. Further, Type NT students respond strongly to the pedagogy of teaching and loaming in psychological ability and disposition, which shows that mathematical anxiety and sub-factors of mathematical anxiety are closely somehow related.

The Effect of Harmonious Passion and Concentration on Perceived Performance: Based on Comparison Analysis by Strength Use Groups (조직원의 조화열정과 집중이 지각된 성과에 미치는 영향: 강점활용 집단별 차이비교를 중심으로)

  • This research is to investigate the impact of strengths use and development on individual perceived performance. The present research aimed at exploring the role of harmonious passion and concentration on individual perceived performance and in this relation verify the group difference by the level of strengths use. This study was conducted on a sample of 460 employees and structural equation modelling analyses were performed to test the proposed model. The results showed that harmonious passion and concentration is positively related to individual perceived performance. In the relation between harmonious passion and perceived performance, there was the difference between high strength use group and low strength use group. Over all, the findings provide encouraging support for the potential benefits of employee's strengths use at work and the importance of intrinsic motivation variable on perceived performance. In addition practical implications on developing employee strengths use are discussed.
