Scale model measurements should be conducted under an actual sky or in a simulated sky where conditions can be held constant. A number of successful attempts have been made to develop artificial sky domes with man-made sun emulators. With reference to formerly-developed examples, sky simulator facility has recently been activated in oder to provide desirable sky conditions for teaching and studies. The structure is a 6m-diameter dome and promises to set various condition for energy related and lighting research activities. The sky dome is also equipped a heliodon, the tilt table, to facilitate additive direct sun impact under clear skies. Shading studies, using scale models with the heliodon, reveal how a building's design blocks or permits light's passage to the interior; solar access studies, and tests of the reflection and transmittance characteristics of new daylighting technologies. The design and construction specification and the initial operating experience with a building configuration are reported.

The objective of this study is to analysis the seismic response of 200m spanned honeycomb lattice domes under horizontal and up-down ground motion of El Centro earthquake. For the analysis of seismic response of the honeycomb lattice domes by rise/span ratio, the time history analysis is used for the estimation of the dynamic response. The low rise lattice dome is less deformed and less stressed than the high rise lattice dome for the earthquake ground motion. The 3-dimensional earthquake response is not significantly different the dynamic response of one directional ground motion. The earthquake response of domes with LRB isolation system is significantly reduced for the asymmetric vertical deformation and the horizontal and vertical accelerations.
This study examines the restoration project of Sokkuram, and introduces its preliminary plans by the architect Pai Ki Hyung. The restoration project started in 1958 with an inquiry committee of the restoration project, and was completed in 1964. Despite having undergone extensive repair work under Japanese supervision from 1913 and 1923, the repair work caused water leakages inside Sokkuram, and regular cleaning work that began in 1933 caused a lot of damage to the sculpture. In result of the surveys, the top priority of this project was to protect the sculptures inside Sokkuram by improving the environment of the cave. At that time, the architect Mr. Pai participated as a head of the fourth field surveyors to plan the restoration project and to design the preliminary plans. He proposed the installation of a double dome structure to prevent further water leakages on the concrete addition that was built up around the grotto by the Japanese. However, in 1961, the Cultural Heritage Committee of Korea examined the plans of Mr. Pai and immediately rejected them. The factors of the rejection were the omitting of entrance design, system of new double dome structure that presses the existing structure, and these changes that had to be made outside of the drainage plans. The repair work of Sokkuram began in 1961, and the main construction was building double dome structure and entrance installation. In this we realize that Mr. Pai's double dome structure plans were very important key concept of this project. This study attempts to demonstrate the double dome installations that Mr. Pai initially proposed, which ultimately remains as emblematic factors of Sokkuram's legacy.

Recently, energy saving buildings are interested in many parts and many types of thermal insulating materials have been developed. The temperature and brightness of inside and outside building are influenced by weather change and sun's brightness and location. The location of building considering the natural daylight is an important parameter to build a building. To modeling the natural daylight, we used 342 electric bulbs which mean artificial daylight. All these bulbs are installed on dome shape frame. Especially it is focused on the luminosity control of each bulb in this paper. The luminosity of bulbs is controlled by phase control using several PIC microprocessors and triacs.
This paper is a study of Le Corbusier's trace regulateur of the 1920s, particularly its role in the design of the Villas La Roche-Jeanneret and Stein-de Monzie. It proceeds on the basis of the following three themes: first, the relation between the regulating line and the dom-ino frame; second, its status as a proportional device based not on a module system but one that defines relations; third, its function as an essential practical device in the design process. In the Villa La Roche-Jeanneret, the embedded horizontal planes of the dom-ino frame were constant, but the vortical lines of the columns were altered according to the changes in plan. Initially, a left-hand bay window formed a symmetry with the right-hand bay window, the only constant in the design process. With subsequent changes, mullion sections of the horizontal window and roof elements came to provide the reference points for the regulating line. Eventually, a regulating line different from the one that controlled the bay window and the elongated volume came to control the entrance hall of Villa La Roche, resulting in three different kinds of regulating lines in the final version. In contrast to the Villa La Roche-Jeanneret, a singular and consistent regulation line was anticipated in the earliest design stages of the Villa Stein-de Monzie. The repetition of its A:B grid and the standard $2.5m{\times}1.0m$ sliding window determined the proportions of both its plan and elevation, and thus the regulating line became 'automatic,' losing its viability as a practical tool. Though the regulating titles of the La Roche-Jeanneret look as if they were an afterthought, drawn after the design was complete, they were most active, requiring tenacity and discipline in their application. On the other hand, the seemingly 'redundant' regulating line of the Villa Stein-de Monzie gains its raison d'etre from the dom-ino frame. Its cantilevers and uninterrupted horizontal window could be used in decisive fashion because of the guarantee that the correct proportion would always be maintained. Thus we discover that Le Corbusier's discipline of the 1920s had a certain spectrum of flexibility. His 'parti' ranged from the extremely loose and malleable grid of the Villa La Roche-Jeanneret to the fixed grid of the Villa Stein-de Monzie. In different ways, these projects retain the tension between the dom-ino frame and the regulating line. For Le Corbusier, as much as the grid was an object with fixed attributes, it was also an active medium manipulated by the will of the architect.

The study is about the efficient alternative to concrete surface in the field of visual inspection technology for deteriorated infrastructure. By combining industrial drones and deep learning based image analysis techniques with traditional visual inspection and research, we tried to reduce manpowers, time requirements and costs, and to overcome the height and dome structures. On board device mounted on drones is consisting of a high resolution camera for detecting cracks of more than 0.3 mm, a lidar sensor and a embeded image processor module. It was mounted on an industrial drones, took sample images of damage from the site specimen through automatic flight navigation. In addition, the damege parts of the site specimen was used to measure not only the width and length of cracks but white rust also, and tried up compare them with the final image analysis detected results. Using the image analysis techniques, the damages of 54ea sample images were analyzed by the segmentation - feature extraction - decision making process, and extracted the analysis parameters using supervised mode of the deep learning platform. The image analysis of newly added non-supervised 60ea image samples was performed based on the extracted parameters. The result presented in 90.5 % of the damage detection rate.

Thin-walled structures are efficiently utilized an automobiles, aircraft, satellite and ship as well as needed light weight simultaneously. This paper presents new shape of automobile hood reinforcement that rotating parts as engine, transmission are protected by thin-walled structures. The automobile hood is concerned about the resonance occurs due to the frequency of the rotating parts. The hood must be designed by supporting the stiffness of design loads and considering the natural frequencies. Hence, it is sustained the stiffness and considered the vibration by resonance. It is deep related to ride. Therefore, the topology, shape and size optimization methods are used to design the automobile hood. Topology technique is applied to determine the layout of a structural component optimum size with maximized natural frequency by volume reduction. In this research, The optimal structure layout of an inner reinforcement of an automobile hood for the natural frequency of a designated mode is obtained by using topology optimization method. The optimum size and the optimum shape are determined by PLBA(Pshenichny-Lim-Belegundu-Arora) algorithm.

The cold eddies around the Ulleung Basin in the East Sea were identified from satellite altimeter sea level data using the Winding-Angle method from 1993 to 2015. Among the cold eddies, the Dokdo Cold Eddies (DCEs), which were formed at the first meandering trough of the East Korea Warm Current (EKWC) and were pinched off to the southwest from the eastward flow, were classified and their migration patterns were analyzed. The vertical structures of water temperature, salinity, and flow velocity near the DCE center were also examined using numerical simulation and observation data provided by the Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model and the National Institute of Fisheries Science, respectively. A total of 112 DCEs were generated for 23 years. Of these, 39 DCEs migrated westward and arrived off the east coast of Korea. The average travel distance was 250.9 km, the average lifespan was 93 days, and the average travel speed was 3.5 cm/s. The other 73 DCEs had moved to the east or had hovered around the generated location until they disappeared. At 50-100 m depth under the DCE, water temperature and salinity (T < $5^{\circ}C$, S < 34.1) were lower than those of ambient water and isotherms made a dome shape. Current faster than 10 cm/s circulates counterclockwise from the surface to 300 m depth at 38 km away from the center of DCE. After the EKWC separates from the coast, it flows eastward and starts to meander near Ulleungdo. The first trough of the meander in the east of Ulleungdo is pushed deep into the southwest and forms a cold eddy (DCE), which is shed from the meander in the south of Ulleungdo. While a DCE moves westward, it circumvents the Ulleung Warm Eddy (UWE) clockwise and follows U shape path toward the east coast of Korea. When the DCE arrives near the coast, the EKWC separates from the coast at the south of DCE and circumvents the DCE. As the DCE near the coast weakens and extinguishes about 30 days later after the arrival, the EKWC flows northward along the coast recovering its original path. The DCE steadily transports heat and salt from the north to the south, which helps to form a cold water region in the southwest of the Ulleung Basin and brings positive vorticity to change the separation latitude and path of the EKWC. Some of the DCEs moving to the west were merged into a coastal cold eddy to form a wide cold water region in the west of Ulleung Basin and to create a elongated anticlockwise circulation, which separated the UWE in the north from the EKWC in the south.
