함부르크와 항구도시의 문화적 정체성

  • 북항 재개발사업에 대한 기대와 관심은 항만시설의 기능성과 효용의 차원과 나란히 지역민의 정체성에도 깊이 뿌리닿아 있는 문제다. 이러한 의미에서 북항의 이슈와 함께 해항도시는 자신의 항구적 문화적 전통과 정체성을 어떻게 유지하며 발전시켜 나가는가라는 근본적이고도 광범위한 의문이 자연스럽게 제기된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 논의의 확장과 심화를 위해, 독일 함부르크의 사례를 살펴볼 것이다. 함부르크의 슈파이허슈타트와 발린슈타트, 그리고 하펜시티는 도시를 의미하는 슈타트, 시티라는 명칭을 통해서 그 공간이 단지 하나의 건물, 장소에 머무르는 것이 아님을 암시하고 있다. 본 연구는 슈파이허슈타트의 경우는 함부르크 원도시와 일종의 제유법적 관계로서 읽고자 한다. 이러한 의미에서 슈파이허슈타트가 건설된 역사적 사회적 맥락을 논의하고, 이러한 맥락이 어떻게 공간적 시각적으로 확인될 수 있는가를 슈파이허슈타트와 원도심간의 교각을 통하여 확인해 볼 것이다.

  • 도시에 대한 근대적 의미의 도시화는 1960년대부터 본격적으로 시작되었지만 세계 수준과 비교하였을 때 평균수준에도 미치지 못하였다. 이후 급격한 도시의 인구 증가율로 인해 높은 도시화 비율을 나타내었지만 인구 대이동으로 인하여 이농향도 현상이 발생하였다. 또한 도시의 고도화 복잡화 되면서 교통난과 환경문제가 발생하였으며 화재 사고등이 빈번히 발생함으로써 엄청난 피해 규모가 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도시의 안전 평가를 위하여 도심지의 건축물을 대상으로 오피스 빌딩을 선정하여 화재 안전 현황에 대하여 조사 분석하였다.

  • 녹색 도시 조성의 주요 요소인 수목(tree)을 대상으로 도시 대기오염 개선수준을 평가하는 연구가 활발하다. 그러나 측정을 통해 수집된 데이터는 수목의 종류와 밀도에 따라 실시간으로 직관적인 도시 대기오염 개선 정도를 판단하는 데 애로가 있다. 본 연구는 이 문제를 해결하는 데 일조하는 소프트웨어 도구를 제시한다. 본 연구에서 개발한 소프트웨어 도구는 대기환경을 개선할 지역별 대기환경측정 정보를 이용하여 3 차원 모델링과 Google Map 서비스를 매쉬업(mash-up)하여 가상으로 수목을 심고 이에 따른 도시 대기오염 개선효과를 시각화한다. 본 연구결과는 도시대기환경 개선을 위한 정책개발과 예산수립에 일조할 것이다.

A Combined Greedy Neighbor Generation Method of Local Search for the Traveling Salesman Problem

  • The traveling salesman problem(TSP) is one of the well known combinatorial optimization problems. Local search has been used as a method to solve TSP. Greedy Random Insertion(GRI) is known as an effective neighbor generation method for local search. GRI selects some cities from the current solution randomly and inserts them one by one into the best position of the current partial solution considering only one city at a time. We first propose another greedy neighbor generation method which is named Full Greedy Insertion(FGI). FGI determines insertion location one by one like GRI, but considers all remaining cities at once. And then we propose a method to combine GRI with FGI, in which GRI or FGI is randomly selected and executed at each iteration in simulated annealing. According to the experimental results, FGI alone does not necessarily perform very well. However, we confirmed that the combined method outperforms the existing local search methods including GRI.

The Process of Urban Development of Chilgok District in Daegu City (대구시 칠곡지구의 도시발달)

  • Chilgok District is a historical area, which has had a certain amount of development. It has its own regional characteristics originating from its isolation from the existing built up area of Daegu City by the Kumho River This study explores the historical development processes and pending development issues of Chilgok District. In 1640 after the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, the district upgraded into Chilgok Dohobu due to its importance as a transportation hub of Youngnamdaero(the main road of Youngnam province in Chosun Dynasty). In its early stages, the government office was located in Kasan fortress, later the of office was moved to Eupnae-Dong. The Chilgok district has experienced a developmental lag resulting from the office's removal to Waegwan, located on the Kyungbu railroad since 1914. Later, due to the increasing influence of nearby Daegu City, urbanization continued gradually. Finally in 1981 Chilgok district was officially incorporated into Daegu Metropolitan City. In the later 1980s, the housing land development project was applied into the district centered on the alluvial plain of Palgeo-Cheon(stream) of the Northern part of Taejun-Bridge. Although the old built up zone was excluded from public sector development projects, private sector development has made the zone a modern town. Now, Chilgok district has transformed into a high-density residential new town in which high-rise apartment complexes mingle with numerous houses. As the district has developed, traffic jams have become a hot issue and it is going to get worse than now as the development continues. To solve this problem, Daegu city needs to swiftly construct the fourth belt way and the third subway line.

Worries and Reality Regarding Porous Asphalt Pavements: Structural Integrity, Flood Mitigation and Non-Point Pollution Reduction (투수성 아스팔트 포장에 대한 우려와 실제: 구조적 적합성, 홍수 완화 그리고 비점오염 저감)

  • Porous pavements are recommended as a Low-Impact Development (LID) method which is a strategy to develop a water cycle as close to a natural state as possible, and to solve the urban impervious surface problems. Porous pavements can yield a solution if it provides a more permeable surface with extra space to contain extra water from building roofs. But there are few applications in Korea because of a lack of recognition and experience. Highway engineers are mainly concerned about the infiltration of water into pavement structures. They worry about the weakening of the asphalt mixture and subgrade, and freezing during the winter season due to the infiltration of water. Meanwhile, hydrological experts doubt the effects of the amount of water to control during the flooding season, and environmental experts prefer a non-point pollution treatment system established beside highway. In this study, from reviewing the history and the body of literature about porous pavements, conclusions regarding the most advanced technologies were made. First, traditional thickness designs can be used for porous pavement, no extra distresses was found by weakening and freezing during the winter season. Second, hydrological design can be made by controlling the thickness of the pavement and the outlet of water. Third, the treatment efficiency of non-point pollution of porous pavements is not worse than any other method. Importantly, it's a more eco-friendly solution because of its lower requirement for de-icing agents.

A Comparative Study on the Business and Financial Structure of Public Housing Agencies in Asia: Korea, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong (아시아 공공주택기관의 사업특성 및 재무현황 비교 연구 : 한국, 일본, 싱가포르, 홍콩을 중심으로)

  • Recently, one of the critical issues in Korea is the huge debt and future role of Korea Land and Housing Corporation. In this regards, the purpose of this study is to get implications from other public housing agencies in Asian countries such as UR of Japan, HDB of Singapore and HA of Hongkong. The changes of housing policy since 1960s, business and financial structure of housing agencies in each nation are investigated and compared. As a result, some policy directions can be proposed as follows : review of current mass housing program, relaxing qualifications for public rental housing, promotion of urban renewal projects, reinforcing cooperation with private sector and local governments, more government's support to LH's financing and loss from businesses for public interests and re-evaluation of LH's debt. The contribution of this study is that suggestions to improve housing policy and to alleviate financial problem of LH are based on the actual conditions of public housing agencies in Asian countries where the housing policy implementation system is similar to Korea, not on the theoretical basis.

A Study on the Research Trends for Smart City using Topic Modeling (토픽 모델링을 활용한 스마트시티 연구동향 분석)

  • This study aims to analyze the research trends on Smart City and to present implications to policy maker, industry professional, and researcher. Cities around globe have undergone the rapid progress in urbanization and the consequent dramatic increase in urban dwellings over the past few decades, and faced many urban problems in such areas as transportation, environment and housing. Cities around the globe are in a hurry to introduce Smart City to pursue a common goal of solving these urban problems and improving the quality of their lives. However, various conceptual approaches to smart city are causing uncertainty in setting policy goals and establishing direction for implementation. The study collected 11,527 papers titled "Smart City(cities)" from the Scopus DB and Springer DB, and then analyze research status, topic, trends based on abstracts and publication date(year) information using the LDA based Topic Modeling approaches. Research topics are classified into three categories(Services, Technologies, and User Perspective) and eight regarding topics. Out of eight topics, citizen-driven innovation is the most frequently referred. Additional topic network analysis reveals that data and privacy/security are the most prevailing topics affecting others. This study is expected to helps understand the trends of Smart City researches and predict the future researches.

  • 이 논문에서는 표면의 일부에 기지의 압력을 밥는 긴 원주내의 응력분포를 구하는 문제를 고찰하였다. 문제를 혼합경계치조건에서 발생되는 쌍적분방정식의 해를 구하는 문제로 간단히 한후에 제 2종 Fredholm 적분방정식을 해결하는 문제로 하였다. 이 적분방정식의 수직해를 전자계산기에 의하여 구한 다음 도시하였다.

  • 인구의 도시집중화에 따른 교통문제와 생활공간의 확보문제가 서울시가 가지고 있는 여러 가지 문제들 중의 하나이다. 이중 교통문제의 해결을 위해 서울시가 추진하고 있는 정책중 지하철 건설은 밀집화된 시의 공간활용 측면에 있어서 필연적이라고 할 수 있다. 서울시 지하철은 1974년 제 1호선 개통이래 1999년 7월에 제 8호선이 완전 개통됨으로서 40% 이상의 높은 수송 분담율을 기록하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 양적인 증가에 반해 공간적인 밀폐성으로 인한 대기, 소음, 진동 등의 환경 위해성이 논란의 대상이 되고 있다.
