This study investigated the image of library in our society by analyzing newspaper articles related to libraries. A total of 3065 newspaper articles reported in Kyunghyang, Hankyoreh, Chosun, and Joongang from 2000 to 2017 were analyzed using time series analysis. The results of the time series analysis showed the number of newspaper articles related to library declined to a peak in 2009. Also, there were differences in the content of newspaper articles by year except for those content related to books. There were many articles about 'information' and 'use' in early 2000, about 'library operation and opening', 'culture' from 2006, and about 'residents of the area', 'culture' after 2012. These content of newspaper articles may reflects the image of library in our society. Finally, this study dis cussed practical ways of public library promotion.

Since 2014, the Korean government has begun distributing LPG pipelines and LPG tankers to mountainous or island areas where it is difficult to open urban gas supply chains. When installing LPG supply facilities at village level and county level, it supplied consumers with 10 times higher quasi-low pressure (25 kPa to 100 kPa) than conventional gas supply pressure, increasing the risk of gas accident. Due to the pressure that is 10 times higher than the conventional gas supply pressure, large amounts of gas are released at a faster rate when leaked. In order to secure safety of quasi-low-pressure gas pipes, excess flow valves for quasi-low-pressure gas pipes are not developed and are not supplied in Korea. Therefore, Korea Gas Safety Corporation is investigating the performance standards and products of the excess flow valves in order to localize the excess flow valves.

The integrated management of community archives, which is conducted by incorporating them into the category of library data through the system of library materials management is more necessary for residents to use community archives by arranging and preserving them collected by public libraries, than management implemented through a separate system. This study therefore draw25 descriptive factors by comparatively analyzing descriptive factors of the descriptive standards for community archives such as ISAD(G) and DC, etc. and integrating common or similar ones. Such 25 drawn descriptive factors were empirically tested three times by professionals through the Delphi technique, and 3 descriptive sectors and 21 descriptive factors were finally drawn. The drawn descriptive factors were divided into mandatory, mandatory if applicable and optional through KORMARC-integrated format for bibliographic data and mapping and applied to the system of library materials management, by adjusting the descriptive factors for the systems.

Public libraries provide information and cultural programs based on various collections as an information and culture hub in local communities. This study analyzed the cases of cultural programs of public libraries in the United States on "Programing Librarian," a website operated by the American Library Association to identify the trend of library programs. As a result of the analysis, the traditional program types such as hobbies, culture, and reading are major program types, but the new types as society and life are also appearing. New types of program activities such as social activities and experiences are also identified. In addition, it was analyzed that the tendency to effectively operate cultural programs with minimal cost is also occurring in the United States. As a marketing channel, Facebook was the most preferred method of promoting cultural programs.

The purpose of this study is to develop a business model that efficiently converts diesel power generation systems to renewable energy microgrids (MG) in large-scale islands. Most of the previous studies on the conversion of renewable energy MG in islands had limitations dealing with efficiency from the perspective of suppliers. However, the microgrid has the characteristic of getting benefits through the interaction between the consumer and the supplier. In addition, the efficient MG business model from the perspective of new institutional economics is a structure in which consumers and suppliers jointly participate. Therefore, this study assumed that the MG business model in which the supplier's MG and the consumer's community solar participated would benefit all participants, and verified the assumptions using domestic island data. In terms of supplier investment, the cost of power supply (LCOE) of assumed model was calculated to be 14.0% lower than that of the diesel model and 3.7% lower than that of the supplier-only MG model. From the perspective of consumer investment, electricity bills are expected to be reduced by more than 200,000 won per household per year through self-generation of solar power. Social benefits are expected to reduce external environmental costs. The CO₂ emissions of the assumed model were calculated to be 39.5% lower than the diesel model and 1.5% lower than the supplier-only MG model. Therefore, the MG business model with consumer participation proposed in this study is expected to be an efficient alternative to renewable energy MG conversion in domestic islands, and is meaningful as an energy plan that improves the benefits of local residents.

In most countries, public libraries have played a role as a hub of knowledge and information, complex culture of local communities, and a third place for meeting and communication. And recent public libraries are focusing on enhancing their core competencies and expanding services using digital technologies to meet the era of digital transformation and the 4th industrial revolution. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, all public libraries are repeatedly closed, reopened, and partially closed, and all resources are devoted to providing non-contact, digital and online alternative services, and are expected to continue in the future. As a result, future public libraries are bound to face a trilemma in which digital expandability, complex cultural space, and importance as a place of knowledge and information service are conflicting. This study discoursed on the public library trilemma in the post-COVID-19 era and suggested ways to overcome it. The orientation of the future public library is the fusion and harmony of multiplicity and multipurpose, place and space, knowledge & information and complex culture, face-to-face service and remote service. The main body of a public library is not the finger (digital and non-contact), but the moon (knowledge information center).

This study aims to grasp the key issues and the direction for digital divide research in South Korea. Based on the 488 KCI journal articles published between 2003 and 2020, the authors analyzed the changes in the number of articles per year and the subject areas of journals. Furthermore, the topic modelling and keyword network anlaysis were applied to identify the subjects of research. The main findings can be summarized as follows: first, there was a stable trend for a while after the number of articles had increased by the year of 2007, and then there has been a sharp increase since 2019. Second, digital divide research has been conducted from diverse fields including social science, multidiscipline, and engineering. Third, the six subject areas were identified which are 'digital divide among regions', 'digital divide among people with disabilities', 'technical environment of digital divide', 'divide from information use and its consequence', 'legal and institutional environments of digital divide', and 'digital divide of the elderly'. Finally, it was shown that the areas of 'divide from information use and its consequence' and 'technical environment of digital divide' have attracted attention recently.

The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the perceptions of passengers on various topics related to passenger ship operation, by targeting the passengers (passenger ship consumers) at coastal passenger terminals in three regions, Incheon, Mokpo, and Tongyeong, where many coastal passenger ships operate in Korea. The survey period was October 1-October 11, 2019, just before the outbreak of COVID-19, and the number of samples was 277. The analysis was divided into two elements. Results of the analysis show that, for items islanders as well as the general public did not respond to more than 50% positively, a more in-depth review of policies and fare policies for transportation-disabled facilities through comprehensive fare evaluation such as the excellence of transportation-disabled facilities, the appropriateness of fares, and the appropriateness of fare guidance are necessary. It is expected that this study will contribute to the preparation for re-opening after COVID-19, as well as contribute to public transportation policy.

The purpose of this study was to develop and apply an online-based Arduino programming experience program. In this study, the program was developed and applied based on the contents presented in the ADDIE model and Lee's model. The results of this study were as follows. First, two types of educational program were developed for online use by students of the free semester system. Second, the program content included practical materials such as teaching websites and video lectures. Third, the developed program was applied a total of three times in the school environment and when the student did not attend school. Fourth, analysis of student satisfaction confirmed that the students were satisfied with the development program. The content of this study will serve as a reference for instructors who plan online-based hands-on activities in places where instructors are not readily available, such as islands or mountainous areas.

This paper aimed to analyze the effect of SW convergence education applying Yut-nori on the knowledge information processing ability of elementary school students. A study was conducted targeting elementary school students in the islands of Jeollanam-do. A SW convergence education applying Yut-nori was developed and applied to the experimental group. A pre-test for knowledge and information processing competency was conducted, SW convergence education applying Yut-nori was conducted, and a post-test for knowledge and information processing competency was conducted. As a knowledge information processing capability test tool, the upper elementary school knowledge information processing competency measurement tool was used for analysis. According to the analysis, SW convergence education using Yut-nori is effective in improving knowledge and information processing competency, which is the ability of elementary school students to collect, analyze, evaluate, and use selected knowledge and information to solve problems efficiently. It was found to be effective in improving knowledge and information processing competency.
