  • This study was attempted to identify the status of the work of the PA and provide the direction and evidence of policy making on the PA scheme. A convergence study was conducted to analyze a total of 23 articles of papers and Internet news through systematic review methodology. A literature search was performed using KISS, NDSL, RISS, National assembly library, and 11 major domestic daily newspapers and Youth Medical Newspaper. The analysis of eight papers showed that the PA's work-related exhaustion, job stress, unclear scope of work and lack of regulations reduced job satisfaction. Through 15 press articles, it was understood that it was urgent to establish a legal system and education system for qualifications and work as professional medical personnel amid a conflict of positive and negative opinions of related agencies. In order to increase the utilization of PA in the future, it is necessary to secure institutional devices suitable for Korean affairs and prepare educational programs.

  • EBLIP seeks to improve library practice by utilizing the best available evidence in conjunction with a pragmatic perspective developed from working experiences in librarianship. The purpose of this study is to apply the evidence-based library and information practice(EBLIP) in Korean librarianship with encouraging the practitioners to publish in their workplace. Content analysis on papers accepted for publication among five LIS journals and focus group interview were performed in order to investigate the contexts and perceptions on the publishing activities of practicing librarians. While the proportion of papers that librarians wrote was calculated at 26 percent among the sample, the percentage of papers with librarians as a single author was only 9.2. Significant obstacles for librarians to publish papers due to organizational level were observed. The author suggests organizational support and better framework for communicating research based on practice such as publication of evidence-based practical journal and the adoption of structural abstract. The findings reinforce the importance of teaching rigorous research methods in workplace.

  • This study investigated whether applying the Project-Based Learning in LIS education affects students' self-efficacy for group work in a positive direction and if the authenticity of the project has any relationship with their self-efficacy for group work. 26 students were surveyed before and after they took the "Evaluating Digital Library Systems" course with the same set of questions asking about their perceptions on the individuals' capabilities to successfully perform group tasks and their perceptions about the project's authenticity. The paired sample t-test showed statistically significant differences between the results of the pre- and post-test, in terms of their capabilities as a leader as well as exchanging, evaluating, and integrating ideas when performing group activities. In addition, the authenticity of the project's task shows some correlation with subfactors of students' self-efficacy for group work.

In addition, to improve the Barrier Free, the improvement facilities of the kindergarten were investigated and analyzed. First, from the institutional viewpoint, it is necessary to amend the existing regulations of the Act for the Promotion of the Convenience Promotion of Disabled Persons, Elderly and Pregnant Women in Korea, and to change the facilities for duties and recommended installation of the kindergarten and the Barrier Free certification standards. Second, in order to apply the Barrier Free certification system to the kindergarten in terms of facility environment, it is necessary to activate the barrier kind of the kindergarten so as to receive the Barrier Free certification by lowering the score of the items difficult to improve due to the terrain or building structure. Third, the perception of Barrier Free is still not high in terms of social awareness. The purpose of this study is to investigate the method of creating a Barrier Free for a kindergarten in the education and living space of children who are the socially underprivileged. Therefore, based on this study, it is anticipated that it will be an opportunity to promote change of Barrier Free in Kindergarten if an attempt is made to improve the Barrier Free certification index suitable for public kindergarten.

  • Various digital literacy and critical competencies are crucial for success in the information and media-rich 21st century game of life. This study explores and describes the digital literacy practices of role-players in WildStar, a science fantasy Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). Active role-players create and participate in group-driven interactive stories while in-character. A hybrid ethnographic method integrating overt participant observation and engagement, collection of community artifacts across multiple sites (such as wikis, discussion boards, and social media), and semi-structured interviews was employed to understand how role-players seek, use, evaluate, and manage information, media, and technology. Role-players used various media and technologies to supplement, simplify, and make role-playing more immersive. The relative digital literacy skill levels of individuals varied, leading role-players to leverage the skills of more proficient or experienced community members. Given the broad appeal of online games and educational benefits of role-playing, implications and applications for digital literacy skills instruction and library programming are also discussed.

  • This study conducted a systematic review of evidence-based interventions to confirm the importance of gait in dementia patients and to inform the necessity of various interventions necessary for gait. Based on PRISMA's guidelines and evidence-based intervention, a systematic review were conducted, and papers published in domestic journals for the past 10years were collected, and the dependent variables measured along with the intervention type and gait were analyzed. For data search, research papers from January 2011 to June 2020 were collected through RISS, KISS, the National Library of Korea, and the Library of Congress. The main search terms were 'dementia patient', 'walking', and 'walking ability'. Searched 57 papers on dementia patients and gait that meet the literature selection criteria. Among them, papers overlapping with papers before 2010, papers whose dependent variable is not related to gait ability were excluded, and finally, other than dementia diseases. As for the type of gait intervention, there were many programs related to exercise such as fall prevention and physical activity, and the dependent variables measured along with gait were physically and psychologically diverse. Although domestic studies for dementia patients are conducted in a variety of directions and methods, there are few studies on the improvement of function and gait of the lower extremity part of the body. Therefore, it is necessary to study the multifaceted and various intervention methods for walking in dementia patients.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the topics of research related to the concepts of literacy in the field of Library and Information Science which is related to user education in libraries. Data were collected from the WoS and KCI databases, and complementary keyword analysis and topic modeling analysis techniques were used to identify topics of literature-related research articles in the field of Library and Information Science. Findings presented that there was a difference in keywords and topics between the two databases. Literacy-related topics identified from the KCI database were classified into three groups through topic modeling. Also, it was analyzed that there is a difference between the overall literacy-related research trend, the timing of the surge in research volume, and key frequent keywords in the Library and Information Science field confirmed in the study. In particular, in the study of literacy in all fields, a number of words such as 'literacy', 'education', 'media', and 'digital' were derived. However, in literature research in the field of Library and Information Science, keywords such as 'information utilization ability' and 'school library' appeared. Based on this, it was concluded that research on the ability to develop an evaluative eye for information is needed in line with today's information environment, where information is rapidly increasing in Korea in the future.

  • The present study surveyed university librarians' perceptions of barriers to research utilization using the Barrier Scales. The results shows that in mean Barriers Scale scores, characteristics of the organization had the highest, and then followed by the communication, the research and the librarian. The most important factor was perceived to be organizational support relating to insufficient time to implement new ideas, inadequate facilities, and lack of authority to make changes and in the communication relating to lack of clarity of research implications for practice, lack to demonstrate research's relevance to practice, and lack of readability of research. Also, incomprehensible English research reports and statistical analyses were perceived as major barriers. The comparison with those of nursing was discussed. In order to settle the barriers identified, librarians should be educated to have 'research literacy' and organazational merit and reward systems were reinforced for research utilization. Also, it needs to explore librarians' specific experiences of barriers in utilizing process in practice. In further research, by integrating both the result of the quantitative and qualitative research, it needs to develop and to assess a standard measurement for librarians' barriers of research utilization in national and international context.
