A Study on the Direction of 'Library and Information Life' Curriculum Revision Based on '2015 Revised National Curriculum' ('2015 개정 교육과정'에 따른 '도서관과 정보생활' 교육과정의 개정 방향에 관한 연구)

  • The curriculum in primary and secondary school is at the heart of the education. In education, a curriculum is broadly defined as the comprehensive plan consisting of educational goal and objectives, instructional content, materials, teaching and learning method. Many countries has national level curricula in primary and secondary education, such as the Korea. Korean national curriculum has been revised 10 times. Currently, '2015 revised curriculum' is applied in korea. On the other hand, the Korean library association developed called a 'Library and information life' curriculum for information literacy instruction in 2007. However, this curriculum is based on the '2007 revised national curriculum', so it differs from the system and contents structure of the '2015 revised national curriculum'. Since the primary and secondary school applying the '2015 revised national curriculum', 'Library and information life' curriculum should be revised. Therefore, this study suggests the direction of revising the 'Library and information life' curriculum after comparing and analyzing '2015 revised curriculum' and 'Library and information life' curriculum.

  • Information literacy education is a important role of today's school libraries. So the development of information literacy curriculum and textbook is necessary to establish educational role of school libraries more firmly. The purpose of this study is to examine the development of new information literacy textbook, School Library and Information Literacy published in 2011. For this, this study investigated the status of information literacy education and instructional media in Korea, the United States and Japan. After all, this study presented the textbook's development progress, curriculum, contents and method of application.

  • Gagné proposed nine instructional events, gain attention of the students, inform students of the objectives, stimulate recall of prior learning, present the content, provide learning guidance, elicit performance(practice), provide feedback, assess performance, enhance retention and transfer for effective teaching & learning practice. Gagné's theory is widely applied in various subjects because it increases student participation and allows classes to be developed systematically. The purpose of this study is to develop a lesson plans for the 'library and information life' subjects in middle school using Gagné's nine instructional events theory, conduct actual instructions, and verify its effectiveness. The research procedure was conducted as follows. Development of lesson plan that using Gagné's theory to Section III (Information Analysis and Interpretation) of 'Library and Information Life' in middle school. Actual instruction were conducted and student survey, peer teacher assessment, and instructor self-assessment were conducted. Based on the evaluation results, a elements to revise and improve the lesson plan was presented.

A Study on the Relationship between Teachers' Information Need about Guidance and Perception regarding Educational Guidelines to Improve Teachers' Perception of Educational Instruction (교사들의 교육지침 인식 개선을 위한 생활지도 정보요구와 교육지침 변화에 대한 인식 간 관계 연구)

  • This study aims to present the relationship between the teachers' information needs regarding guidance and the perception of educational guidelines issued by the Office of Education. The research design was conducted based on the reviewing theoretical background studies, and questionnaires were found in in-depth semi-structured interviews in a pilot study. Gyeonggi Province is divided into four regions, which is the target of the survey. Teachers of three schools in each region were surveyed, and eventually 217 copies of the survey were used for the final analysis. The result shows that the role of school libraries in caring for teachers' information needs ultimately influences the improvement of teachers' guidance. Based on this result, the study suggests ways to improve information services provided by school libraries. In particular, the study is meaningful in that it has presented a potential service plan that can be performed by school libraries to help address teachers' information needs about guidance in schools.

  • Teachers must design instruction to meet effective teaching and learning before teaching implementation. The traditional models of instructional design such as Dick and Carey, ADDIE and ASSURE have been widely applied. However, the traditional models of instructional design have limitation in that students fail in deep understanding of subject content because of break down essential goal of the unit small pieces of contents. To solve this problem, Wiggins and McTighe have suggested backward design. Backward design is a method of designing instruction by setting evaluation before choosing activities or content to teach. Therefore, this study explores the effective teaching and learning by analyzing structure of backward design and appling backward design to 'Library and Information Life' subject for information literacy education. Backward design for 'Library and Information Life' subject applies the template which Wiggins and McTighe devised for instructional design.

A Study on the Effect of Middle-Aged People's Use of Cultural Programs in Public Library on their Library Perception and Life Satisfaction (중장년층의 공공도서관 문화프로그램 이용이 도서관 인식과 생활만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study designed the research model to identify whether the characteristics of cultural programs of public libraries and middle-aged people's experience of the programs impact on their life satisfaction. To verify our model, we conducted our survey to random middle-aged users of five public libraries in Gyeonggi-do and nine public libraries in Seoul, and 246 valid samples are used. Our analysis showed that the characteristics of cultural programs and middle aged people's experience of the programs affect their perception of cultural programs, and the regional perception of public libraries had a significant effect on fulfilling personal needs for life satisfaction. Our analysis also showed the change in values of public libraries that spread to the realm of daily life. This study is meaningful in suggesting directions for national and local public library policies and public library cultural programs.

  • 과학문명이 고도로 발달함에 따라 모든 문제의 해결에 있어서 신속하고 정확하게 처리할 수 있는 기법의 개발이 고조되어 왔다. 이러한 시대적 요구에 부응하기 위해서 인간은 Computer를 만들었고, 이를 실제로 여러 분야에 활용함으로써 괄목할만한 성과를 이룩해 왔다. 그리고 앞으로는 더욱 더 인간 생활의 여러 분야에 깊이 응용될 전망이고 보면, 정보처리조직 분야는 결코 소수의 특수 분야에 특정인들의 생활 도구로 활용되는 것이 아니라 모든 사람의 필수적인 생활 도구화하는 추세이다. 특히 우리나라에서 Computer가 활용되기 시작한 역사는 일천하지만 활용분야나 그 질적인 면에서 대단한 성장을 계속하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 오늘의 시점에서는 정보처리조직에 대한 기본적인 지식과 활용 기법은 누구나 이해할 필요성이 제고되고 있는 것이다. 이와 같은 추세에 따라 관심을 가지고 정보처리조직에 대한 교육을 실시하고 있다. 따라서 도서관자동화논의가 한창 진행되고 있음에 보조를 맞추는 뜻에서 본 전자정보처리조식개론을 게재하는 바입니다. 그래서 본서는 위에 지적한 사항을 유념하여 전체구성을 10개 Chapter로 엮었다.Chapter 1과 Chapter2는 컴퓨터의 개요와 Computer에서의 자료의 표현방법을, Chapter3 부터 Chapter5까지는 기억장치와 중앙처리장치를 비롯하여 입출력장치를 ,Chapter6부터는 각 프로그래밍 언어의 특성과 오퍼레이팅 시스템 및 기타 사항 등으로 되어있다.

The Effects of College Students' Library Satisfaction on College Life Satisfaction (대학생의 도서관 이용 만족도가 대학 생활 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of college students' library satisfaction on college life satisfaction. In order to test this relationship, two surveys were conducted involving 360 college students at two universities in Seoul. The results of the first survey show that after controlling for the educational service satisfaction and facilities satisfaction, there is a significant influence of college students' library satisfaction on college life satisfaction. The second study added variables for the three components of library service quality (librarian service quality, library resources and service quality, and library facilities and environmental quality). The results of the second survey show that there is a significant influence of library service quality on college library satisfaction, and again a significant influence of college students' library satisfaction on college life satisfaction. Moreover, the results of two group analysis show that the influence of college library satisfaction on college life satisfaction is stronger in high usage group than low usage group. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.

A Study on the Effect of Book Festivals on Personal Reading Habituation and Library Revitalization (북페스티벌이 독서생활 및 도서관 활성화에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • This study is to examine the effect of book festivals on personal reading habituation and library revitalization. The survey of participants of book festivals is conducted. As a result, it appears that participation of book festivals has a impact on personal reading habituation and recognition of and using library. The followings are results of this survey: recognition of participants about book festivals has a impact on personal reading habituation and recognition of library and using library, but the effect(2.1~4.7%) is slight; Satisfaction of book fair(display and selling booths) has a impact on personal reading habituation(30.1%); Satisfaction of experience booths has a impact on recognition of library(22.4%) and using library(26.4%); Satisfaction of participating in book festivals also has a impact on participant's reading habituation(24.5%), recognition of library(20.1%) and using library(27.5%).
