Critical Management Factors of Fluid-Applied Membrane Waterproofing Work for building basements (지하층 도막방수공사의 중점관리요인)

  • One role of waterproofing work is to block external moisture and water. Defects in waterproofing work in building construction brings on huge repair costs for related construction work as well as for the waterproofing layer itself. However, we don't have a quantitative probabilistic management method for waterproofing work to successfully anticipate and prevent defects. From an analysis of the literature and prior research, defects in the waterproofing work in the underground parts of buildings occur frequently. We selected Fluid-Applied Membrane waterproofing work as representing waterproofing work in the underground parts of a building, and researched the general types and causes of defects. In this study, we developed the Relative-FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) approach that merges the Matrix method and FMEA. From a survey of experts, we deduced the most important management factors for Fluid-Applied Membrane waterproofing work for the underground parts of buildings.

Study on Material Characteristic of Modern Cultural Heritage Rickshaw (근·현대문화재 인력거 재질분석 연구)

  • Modern cultural heritage were made with various materials. But there are no certain analysis for modern cultural heritage. Analysis on rickshaw from National Museum of Korean Contemporary History were carried out using P-XRF, species identification, paint film analysis, FT-IR and microscope observation. As a result Copper and Zinc were measured in metal parts. Nickel alloys were first used in the modern era for rickshaw. Wooden parts, Oak(Quercus spp.), bamboo(Phyllostachys spp.) and Hinoki cypress(Chamaecyparis spp.) were identified. Outer films were painted by 5 layers and inner films were painted by 3 layers. More simple painting process were performed on the inner part. Cotton and wool were identified by FT-IR. Also, cowhide were identified. Authenticity conservation and restoration could be carried out with the results.

실리콘계 투명하드코팅을 이용한 CNT 투명전도막의 내구성 증진에 관한 연구

  • 균일한 전기 전도성 및 우수한 광투과성과 내화학성을 갖는 탄소나노튜브(CNT) 기반의 투명전도막(TCF)은 기존의 ITO 박막보다 우수한 유연성을 갖기 때문에 차세대 플렉시블 디스플레이 소재로서 많은 관심을 모으고 있다. 특히 낮은 저항과 투과도가 일정하면서 투명 전도막의 내구성을 향상 및 유지 시키는 연구는 상업화에 가장 필요한 연구 분야이다. 본 연구에서는 PET기판을 이용한 탄소나노튜브로 제작된 투명전도막 위에 오버 코팅을 통한 물성에 따른 내구성 개선 및 유지를 연구하였다. 오버 코팅 물질로는 실리콘계 투명 하드코팅 소재를 기본으로 하고 용매 및 합성 온도을 제어하여 내구성을 개선하고자 하였다. 연구결과 CNT 코팅층과 오버 코팅층과의 젖음성이 물성 향상에 가장 많은 영향을 끼치는 것을 관찰하였고, 특히 젖음성이 증가할수록 투과도와 전기전도도가 향상되는 것을 확인하였다. 구조 분석결과, 이러한 젖음성에 가장 많은 영향을 주는 것은 용매의 비점과 비중 그리고 용질의 합성 온도 임을 확인하였다. 또한 오버코팅 물질 중 고비점 용매가 고온 고습 환경에서 240시간 이상 내구성 테스트 결과, 투명전도성 평가 지수(${\sigma}DC/{\sigma}OP$)가 향상되었고 또한 테스트 전후의 HAZE 변화율이 10%이하 임을 확인하였다.

Dissolution Resistance Property of Modified Asphalt Waterproofing Sheet Coated with Polyamide Film by SEM-EDX Analysis (폴리아마이드 필름이 코팅된 개량 아스팔트 방수시트의 SEM-EDX 분석을 통한 유기용제 저항성 확인)

  • In the composite waterproofing method in which a polyurethane coating waterproofing material is applied on the modified asphalt waterproofing sheet, the organic solvent is diluted in the coating waterproofing material in order to improve the workability. However, since the organic solvent is not volatilized before the curing of the polyurethane coating waterproofing material, the organic solvent causes dissolution of asphalt layer, thereby causing oil leakage. As a result, a polyamide film having a high dissolution resistance property was laminated on modified asphalt sheet, and through testing the dissolution resistance was visually confirmed and quantitative analysis of the polyamide film by SEM-EDX analysis was also used to confirmed the dissolution resistance of the polyamide film.

  • In this study, we analyzed the rickshaw (Owned by the Daegu Modern History Museum) by measuring each material. The purpose of the study was to identify the materials in modern cultural assets that utilize a variety of materials in a complex way, and establish basic data for preservation and management. Using portable X-ray fluorescence analyzers (P-XRF), species identification, fiber identification, paint film analysis (microscope observation, SEM-EDS, FTIR) on metal, wood, fiber and paint was carried out. Brass, an alloy of Copper, Zinc and Iron, was measured in the metal parts. Further, wooden parts, such as Oak (Quercus acutissima), Japanese Cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), Bamboo (Bambusoideae). Torreya nucifera (Torreya spp.) were identified in the body. Fiber parts consisted mainly of cotton, but some parts were also made of leather. In terms of paint, rickshaws were applied with multiple layers, using cashew (synthetic paint used in place of lacquer). In sum, the rickshaw body part appeared to overlap with layers of fiber, metal (soild), paint, and colored (black, red) layer.

Studies on Analysis of Joseon Lacquer Layer (조선시대 칠도막 분석연구)

  • For studying of the characteristics and structures of material in lacquer layer in Joseon Dynasty, 6 types and 7 pieces of sample were observed with the optical microscope and the polarizing microscope. For analyzing, SEM-EDS and FT-IR were used and TOF-SIMS was also used on trial. The former is directly varnished on the iron layer so the sample includes more iron component than the others. In the results of the trial analyzing in TOF-SIMS, it is possible to verify the minerals on the foundation layer with the infinitesimalsample. The analysis results of lacquer layer with FT-IR are compared with previous studies and all the samples have the spectrum of the lacquer. Through the result of the Joseon lacquer layer, there are not many samples, however, when it compared with unified Silla, the period of the Three States, and the previous era, the lacquer layers are simpler than the relics from previous era. It looks to have the relation with the simplification of manufacturing method because of expanding of the using of lacquer wares.

  • 실리콘 박막 태양전지에서 전면 투명전도막(TCO)은 태양전지의 전기, 광학적 특성을 결정하는 중요한 기능을 한다. ZnO:Al TCO는 기존에 사용되던 $SnO_2:F$와는 비정질 실리콘(a-Si:H) 박막 태양전지의 윈도우 층으로 사용되는 p a-SiC:H와의 일함수(work function) 차이로 인해 접촉전위(contact barrier)를 형성하게 되며 이로 인해 태양전지의 충진율(fill factor)이 $SnO_2:F$에 비해 감소하는 단점을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 ZnO:Al/p a-SiC:H 계면의 접촉전위 발생원인 및 태양전지 충진율 감소현상에 관한 정확한 원인규명을 위해 다양한 특성을 갖는 버퍼층을 삽입하여 계면특성 및 태양전지의 동작특성을 분석하고자 한다.

CNT-AgNW 투명전도막의 내구성 증진을 위한 실리콘계 하이브리드 투명하드코팅에 관한 연구

  • 저항이 낮고 투과도가 일정한 투명전도막(TCF)의 내구성을 향상 및 유지 시키는 연구는 상업화에 가장 필요한 연구 분야이다. 그 중 탄소나노튜브(CNT)와 실버나노와이어(AgNW)를 섞어 만든 CNT-AgNW는 우수한 광투과성과 내화학성 및 균일한 전기 전도성을 갖고 있고 그 기반의 투명전도막은 기존의 ITO 및 CNT 박막보다 우수한 유연성을 갖기 때문에 차세대 플렉시블 디스플레이 소재로서 많은 관심을 모으고 있다. 본 연구는 PET를 이용한 CNT-AgNW로 제작된 투명전도막 위에 물성 및 두께 따른 하드오버 코팅을 통한 내구성 개선 및 유지를 연구하였다. 하드오버 코팅 물질로는 실로콘계 하이브리드 투명 하드코팅 소재를 기본으로 하고 용매 및 용질의 합성 온도를 제어하고 코팅막의 두께(Thin, Thick)를 조절을 통해 내구성 개선을 증진시키려 하였다. 연구결과 물성 향상에 가장 많은 영향을 끼치는 것은 CNT-AgNW 코팅층과 하드오버 코팅층과의 젖음성으로, 그 젖음성이 증가할수록 투과도 및 전기전도도가 향상되는 것을 관찰하였다. 분석 결과, 용매의 비점 및 비중, 용질의 합성 온도가 하드오버코팅 젖음성에 가장 많은 영향을 주는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 항온 항습($85^{\circ}C/85%$) 환경에서 240시간 이상 내구성 테스트 결과 하드오버코팅 물질 중 고온합성 및 고비점 용매를 이용하고 thick 조건이 Thin조건보다 투명전도성 평가 지수(${\sigma}DC/{\sigma}OP$)가 향상 되었다. 또한 Thin에서 면저항(${\Omega}/{\square}$) 변화율이 10% 이상을 보인 반면, Thick에서는 10% 이내의 변화율 유지를 확인하였다.

Lacquer Manufacturing Method for the Wooden Coffins of King Muryeong's Tomb based on the Scientific Analysis (과학적 분석방법을 이용한 무령왕릉 목관재의 옻칠 기법 연구)

  • We conducted optical microscopy, infra-red spectroscopy and SEM-EDS analysis of the lacquer layers on the wooden coffins excavated from King Muryeong's Tomb. We found four varnishing methods according to the sub-materials of lacquer layers: The lacquer of wooden coffins with black paint layer on the surface were classified with two groups; single layer and three layers. The lacquer of wooden coffins without black paint layer on the surface were classified with two groups; single layer and two layers. IR spectra of the laquer were same as those of the oriental laquer. The SEM-EDS analysis showed that the lacquer layers were mixed with iron, copper and calcium.

Analysis of Automotive Paints using Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography (열분해-가스크로마토그라피에 의한 자동차 페인트 분석)

  • The automotive paints could be generally differentiated by color, layer sequence and chemistry of the paint layers comprising each of the topcoat and the primer system. The successful identification of hit-andrun a and traffic accidental vehicles from evidential paint fiagments is greatly facilitated with a comprehensive laboratory collection of reference paint samples and the technique for direct analysis without sample preparation. The Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography(PGC) is a precise and reliable method for performing both quantitative and qualitative analysis of polymeric materials and forensic samples. Our Forensic Laboratory is conducting the examination and identification of 73 reference paint samples; 4 colors of each domestic automotive make that is popular in Korea, by Curie Point Pyrolyzer(JHP-3) and GC with capillary column(ultra alloy-5). This method can be used not only to compare paint traces with their suspected sources, but also to identify the type, make and model of the automotive car.
