Experimental Investigations on the Flexural Behavior Using PE-Coated Rebars (PE 도막철근의 휨거동에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Recently, The corrosions of reinforced concrete structures are severe problems of economical social effects. PE-coated bars protecting from corrosion and enhancing durability of reinforced concrete structures are testified to evaluate structural properties. Tests are verified by comparative bending tests of the three type materials of epoxy coating, without coating and pe-coating. Load-deflection relations ate superior in pe-coated bar than any other materials(bare bar and epoxy bar). These are proved bonding properties enhancement by using cement powder.

  • 현장방염처리 물품의 방염성능평가시 실내 인테리어 공사가 끝난 후 시험 시료를 채취하여 연소시험을 실시하게 되어있다. 그러나 이러한 절차로 인해 검사 소요시간이 길어지고 여러 민원이 발생하여 이를 대처할 시험 방법이 필요하다. 따라서 연소시험 대신 도막두께 측정 시험 방법을 도입하여 방염성능평가에 따른 문제점들을 해결하고자 한다. 도막두께 측정 시험의 경우 도막두께 측정용 라벨을 방염도료를 칠해야 하는 합판이나 목재 위에 붙이고 도료 작업이 끝나고 나면 관할 소방서에 이 라벨을 떼어서 제출하여 기준 도막 두께와 비교 측정하였을 때 기준 도막두께보다 두꺼우면 방염성능을 인정해주고 만약 기준 도막두께보다 얇게 칠해지면 현장 검사 또는 시료 채취 후 연소시험을 병행하여 검사함으로서 안전하고, 책임 있는 방염성능 시공을 할 수 있도록 관리 감독할 수 있을 것이다.

A Study on the Physical Property by Construction Condition of Urethane Waterproofing Membrane (우레탄 도막방수재의 시공조건에 따른 물성변화)

  • This study is for quality standard establishment of urethane waterproofing membrane method which is mostly applied to waterproofing method for underground parking lot and rooftop. The experiments were carried out on color differences, membrane thickness, tensile property by curing period of liquid urethane before placing protective concrete, and resistance of crack movement according to different substrate surface and reinforcement of non-woven fabric. As a result of experiments, it was found that color differences is increase, membrane thickness is thick, tensile property is low as concrete placing period is shorter. In the fatigue property, membrane thickness of 3 mm was not broken, but 1~2 mm was broken and in the case of the membrane reinforced with non-woven fabric was more stable comparatively non-reinforcement one.

Perforrmance Tests of Epoxy-coated Reinforcing Bars : Corrosion Protection Properties (에폭시 도막 철근의 내부식 성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Epoxy coated bars protecting reinforcing bars from corrosion and enhancing durability of reinforced concrete structures are tested to evaluate corrosion protection properties. Tests are performed based on the relevant sta.ndards of KS and ASTM, such as chenical resistance, salt water spray, salt crock test and chloride ermeability test. with the main varlable of the coating thlckness. Test results show good chemical protection property and chloride permeability. The results of the salt water spray and the salt crock test show that epoxy coating well protects the reinforcing bars from corrosion, cornparing to the biack bars without epoxy coatmg. However, several spots on the coated bars are rusted at the pinholes or un the bars with coating thickness less thar $200{\mu}M$. Special cautions are required i n the process of blast cleanmg when applying the usion-bonded epoxy coating.

  • Analysis has been made of the anti-corrosive property of organic coating under the shear stress of the flow by means of AC impedance method. Marine anti-corrosive painted panels were placed in the water channel with varying flow rate, thereby experiencing varying flow shear stress on the surfaces. The velocities of the salt water were ranged from 1.48 to 5.2 m/s and the coating thickness of from $70{\mu}m\;to\;140{\mu}m$. For all coating thicknesses investigated, the poorer anti-corrosive property and the lower adhesion strength have been found for the higher shear stress. It has been found that the shear stress accelerates the aging of organic marine coatings.

  • This study aims to investigate the film performance by physical properties of glue and gelatin in traditional paint(Dancheong). To do this, homemade, commercial glue and gelatin was selected and evaluated water reaction and weatherproof. The result, the highest gel strength, gelatin was better than acrylic acid ester resin, when compared with hygroscopic property and adhesive property. And that was better than in any others, when compared with water-proofing.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of the vehicle resin on the coating performance of Dan-Chung. The starch glue (F), fish glue (G), and aqueous acrylic resin emulsion (E) were used as vehicle resins. Panels coated with Dan-Chung were tested at accelerated weathering and outdoor conditions. Aqueous acrylic resin was proved as an excellent vehicle resin for Dan-Chung, because there was no flaking in Dan-Chung film after accelerated weathering and outdoor exposure. Discoloration of Dan-Chung using E was the smallest among the acceleratedly weathered panels. Adhesive property of Dan-Chung film using G was. remarkably improved by G-undercoating. On the contrary, G-undercoating lowered adhesive property of Dan-Chung film using E.

  • 철근의 부식은 철근 콘크리트 구조물에 있어서 심각한 열화현상을 유발할 수 있으며 최근 들어 이로 인한 피해가 많이 보고되고 있다. 이와 같은 부식의 억제방안 중 철근에 직접 에폭시를 도막하는 것이 가장 효과적인 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 이 경우 에폭시 도막에 따른 부착성능의 저하가 우려되는 바 본 연구는 철근부식방지를 위해 에폭시를 도막한 철근의 부착특성을 고찰하기 위해 수행되었다. 주된 변수는 콘크리트 압축강도, 부착길이, 에폭시 도막두께이며 각 변수별로 부착특성의 변화를 관찰하였고 이를 통해 에폭시도막 철근의 사용성을 검토하였다. 본 실험결과에 기초하여 부착강도 예측식을 제안하였고 실험결과와 예측치를 비교하였다.

Performance Tests of Epoxy-coated Reinforcing Bars : Mechanical Properties (에폭시 도막 철근의 기계적 성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Test results to evaluate the rr~echanical properties of epoxy-coated reinforcing bars are described. Tests include adhesion, impact, bend, and abrasion test of epoxy coating to reinforcing steel, specified in relevant KS and ASTM standards. Three nomnal thicknesses of epoxy coating, $120{\mu}m$, $220{\mu}m$, $300{\mu}m$ are used. The results show good adhesion and abrasion resistance satisfying the requirements. The results also show faily good bendability. However, the thicker the coating, the weaker the adhesion is. Impact resistance is in the tolerable range, but it is recorrmerided that careful treatments are required during handling of epoxy-coated bars. From the results, epoxy-coated bars, with a coating thickness ranging from $150{\mu}m$ to $300{\mu}m$, should well perform for fabrication in field construction.

An Evaluation of Lap Splice Length of Epoxy Coated Reinforcements Using Beam-End Test (보-단부 시험을 이용한 에폭시 도막 철근의 겹침 이음길이 평가)

  • The application of epoxy coated reinforcements is increased as a means to prevent a corrosion of reinforcements embedded in reinforced concrete structures, However, epoxy coating may reduce the bond capacity between concrete and reinforcement, which results a longer development length and lap splice length. This paper aims to the possibility of modification in lap splice length from reduction of basic development length which was confirmed using a direct pull out test. Total 36 beam specimens were tested to compare the lap splice properties of normal and epoxy coated reinforcements with beam-end test for various lap lengths and diameters of reinforcements. According to the results on failure modes, deformations, and crack widths of this experiments, the modification factor of 1.2 should be used, though the direct bond capacity is assured through direct pull out test.
