  • Design and analysis of road subgrade system, which is exposed to repetitive loading condition, uses resilient modulus. The behavior of railway subgrade system will not be quite different from that of road system. Following this phenomenological feature of the subgrade system, this paper introduces the implementation of the resilient modulus based constitutive model on a commercial finite element software. The implementation of the resilient modulus models such as K-${\theta}$ and Uzan on a FE program has been conducted previously. These model assumes that the material state reaches to the nonlinear elastic condition and with further application of repetitive loads, the response of material is completed in elastic condition. According to the recent test results performed on cohesive subgrade soils, however, permanent deformation occurs with repetitive loads. With aids of previously suggested models the permanent deformation cannot be modeled. To overcome such limitation a plastic potential derived from the test results and simple failure criterion based constitutive model is developed. The comparison between the analysis and test results shows a good correlation.

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of social support and mental health of health science college students on their resilience. 191 students enrolled in 3 health science colleges located in J Province were asked to answer structured questionaries, and the collected data was analyzed by T-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis with SPSS 24.0 software. The result of this study shows that social support has positive correlation to resilience, whereas mental health has statistically significant negative correlation to psychological resilience. Subfactor of social support that affect psychological resilience are material and repetitional support, and subfactor of mental health are anxiety and college life satisfaction, which is also a sociologic characteristic, with explanatory power of 48.9%. The study suggests the need to develop and apply measures to improve social support and mental health of health science college students to embolden their resilience.

  • This study examined the experience of cosmetic surgery and its related factors in order to establish the correct values for female college students' appearance. Data were collected from 283 female college students in Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Jeolla-do provinces, and analyzed by Chi-square test, T-test and Binary logistic regression using SPSS 18.0 program. As a result, the experience rate of cosmetic surgery was 66.1%, and the experience of cosmetic surgery was high as the grade was increased. The most common source of information was 'family and people around' at 45.9%, and the cosmetic surgery type 'eye surgery' was the highest at 25.8%. Appearance of interest and cosmetic surgery recognition were higher than those who had no cosmetic surgery experience. Factors related to cosmetic surgery experience were grade, allowance, and appearance interest. It is necessary to prepare basic data on cosmetic information and to develop a program to establish proper beauty values, and education and counseling to make rational decisions about cosmetic surgery will be required.

  • In this paper, lateral-torsional buckling(LTB) strength of HSB800 steel plate girder under uniform bending moment was estimated by the nonlinear analysis. Doubly symmetric sections with slender, noncompact and compact webs were considered and the LTB strength in the inelastic range was estimated by taking initial imperfection and residual stress into account. For the numerical analysis, single-panel model and three-panel model were considered and analysis of SM490 steel plate girder was performed to judge the validity of the constructed models by comparing the results with AASHTO, AISC, Eurocode and KHBDC(LSD) codes. By using the same models, LTB strength of HSB800 girder was evaluated and it was acknowledged that the current codes can be applied to HSB800 girders with doubly symmetric section in the inelastic LTB range.
