Factors Affecting English Learners' Learning Motivation (영어 학습자의 학습 동기에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study aims to investigate the relationship between various motivational factors and to identify other causative components affecting English learners' learning motivation(From March to Jun, 2012). In case of integrative motivation and instrumental motivation, there was a statistically significant difference among those who have studied in other countries. However, in the case of negative motivation, there was a statistically significant difference among those who have no learning experience in other countries. English learners' learning motivation between the students majoring in Liberal Arts and Others, learning contents and teaching methods were significant factors.

  • This study aimed to explore YouTube subscribers' uses and gratification through PLS path modeling. Especially, we identified the types of use motives grounded on ritualized (MR) and instrumental (MI) use motives; and then showed two motives have an effect on satisfaction directly and indirectly through mediating of flow. We employed PLS path modeling to analyze structural causalities among the constructs. We found all of the presented hypotheses are supported respectively. Two motives (MR and MI) had an effect on flow and satisfaction. Flow also had an effect on satisfactions. Namely, satisfaction was explained directly and indirectly, through mediated with flow, by MR and MI. Finally, we presented implications of findings and suggestion for future study.

A Systematic Review of the Rehabilitation Motivation Evaluation Tool for Stroke Patients (뇌졸중 환자의 재활동기 평가도구에 관한 체계적 문헌고찰)

  • Objective : In this study, the rehabilitation motivation evaluation tool for stroke patients was identified, and the characteristics of the evaluation tool were analyzed to analyze the conceptual framework and characteristics used in the composition of the evaluation contents. Methods : From 2000 to May 2022, documents registered in major domestic and foreign databases (PubMed, NDSL, Medline, and EMbase) were searched and selected according to the selection and exclusion criteria. The evaluation tools used in the selected documents were analyzed, and the characteristics of this evaluation tool were analyzed. Results : A total of 30 documents were selected, and they were classified into a total of five rehabilitation motivation evaluation tools. The most widely used in Korea was the measurement tool for rehabilitation motivation for the disabled, and the most widely used overseas was the intrinsic motivation inventory. Three evaluation tools constructed the evaluation contents based on the self-determination theory, and two constructed the evaluation contents through expert agreement. The number of evaluation items and 8 to 45 items were varied, and the evaluation scale was also used in various ways from 4 to 7 point scale. Conclusion : It was possible to identify the evaluation tools mainly used for the evaluation of rehabilitation motivation, and to identify the main conceptual framework based on the development of the rehabilitation motivation evaluation tool. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for research on the development of rehabilitation motivation evaluation tools for stroke patients in the future.

The Analysis about Factors That Influence the Motive of Partner Homicide (배우자살인의 동기에 영향을 미치는 요인분석)

  • This study explained about the different motive of partner homicide and this homicide's elements which are feature of human sociology, home environment, school life and partner's trouble causes. After analyzed these element which affect to the motive of partner homicide, we couldn't find statistical differences of partner homicide motive by sex, having a job. However, there are small gap in an age group. Almost the homicide by expressive motive was a primary factor in the whole mass but, in the age of 40's, 11.1% is by the homicide of instrumental motive in the partner homicide. We need some more detail analysis and the partner murderer who growed up in very poor home circumstances commit Homicide by 100% expressive motive. This result suggested that murderer who was in the inferior home environment can do murder more easier than normal because of their emotional reason which are urgent, impulsive and contingent. On the other hand, their school life behavior during a growth process was useless for explain the motive of partner homicide. On one side, we could confirm that partner's trouble cause is a very useful element for explain the partner homicide, that is, if the if the level of conflict with partner's were high, the murder by expressive motive will grow up. But we must see the fact that the partner homicide's rate is 13.3% by instrumental motive in the low trouble causes very carefully for understand the partner homicide.

A Study on Quality Factors of Web Enabled Collective Intelligence as a Donor for Business Success (기업성과 향상을 위한 웹기반 집단지성의 품질요인에 관한 연구)

  • 비즈니스 조직에서 집단지성을 경쟁우위의 중요한 요소로 활용하는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 인터넷과 소셜 네트워크 서비스는 물론이고 위키와 같은 편집도구 등은 집단지성을 가능하게 하는 대표적인 정보기술이다. 그러나 집단지성은 전문가 지식에서와는 다른 품질의 문제가 제기되기도 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 집단지성의 품질에 영향을 주는 요인을 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 선행연구를 통해 집단지성의 품질에 영향을 주는 개인의 동기(love, money, glory, professional development), 집단특성(expertise, diversity, size), 집단지성의 도구(navigating, usefulness, agility, user preference) 차원에서 총 11개의 영향요인을 파악하였다. 조직 경쟁우위의 핵심으로 집단지성을 활용하는 대표적인 성공사례인 Threadless, InnoCentive, iStockphoto, Panda Security, Wikipedia를 분석하여 3개 차원에서 11개의 명제를 제안하였다. 사례분석의 결과, 개인의 동기, 집단특성, 집단지성을 위한 도구는 집단지성의 품질에 긍정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 예를 들어, 개인적 동기가 뚜렷하고 다양한 특성을 지닌 다수가 참여할수록 소집단에서보다 더 잘 문제를 해결하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 집단지성의 품질을 개선하고 이를 통해 혜택을 얻기 위해서 조직에서는 다양성을 지닌 대규모 커뮤니티를 구성하고, 참여에 대한 동기를 부여하고, 적절한 집단지성의 도구를 선택하여 활용하여야 한다.

A Study on the Measurement Tool Development of Reading Motivation Using Self-determination Theory (자기결정성 동기이론에 의한 독서동기 측정도구 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims at developing the measurement tool of reading motivation using self-determination theory (SDT). SDT is not simply divided into the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. SDT resides along a continuum, with amotivation, external regulation, introjected regulation, identified regulation, integrated regulation, intrinsic motivation. SDT addresses the process of internalization of various extrinsic motives. This study analyzed motivation factor of the measurement tool such as MRQ (motivations for reading questionnaire), MRP (motivation to read profile) ERAS (elementary reading attitude survey, RSCS (reading self-concept scale). The study re-classified analysis results based on SDT. Ultimately, this study was proposed measurement tool of reading motivation using SDT has 6 area, 30 items.

Development of the motivating efficacy scale for mathematics teachers (수학교사의 수학 학습동기 유발 효능감 측정 도구 개발 연구)

  • In this study, after defining motivating efficacy operationally, we developed a draft of the Motivating Efficacy Scale for Mathematics Teachers (MESMT), a measure of mathematics teachers' motivating efficacy, through the literature review and an expert Delphi survey, and conducted the exploratory factor analysis using online survey responses from 347 elementary and secondary mathematics teachers across the country to explore the factor structure of the measure and to test its validity and reliability. The exploratory factor analysis resulted in the deletion of 17 items from the initial 42 items developed through the literature review and expert Delphi survey and the identification of four factors (Providing successful experiences, Eliciting attention and engagement, Creating mathematics case-based relevance, and Providing extrinsic rewards), resulting in a final MESMT of 25 items. The MESMT developed in this study is a valid and reliable measure of mathematics teachers' motivating efficacy, and is expected to serve as a starting point for many subsequent studies to understand mathematics teachers' motivating efficacy and improve mathematics teachers' ability to motivate students' mathematics learning.

  • 컴퓨터를 이용한 협동작업은 공간적으로 분산되어 있는 여러 작업자들이 동기적 EH는 비동기적으로 협력할 수 있게 함으로써 보다 신속하고 정확하게 작업을 진행할 수 있게 한다. 최근의 협동작업 분야의 급속한 발전은 이제 더 이상 웹 상에서의 협동작업 도구를 메일, 채팅, 화이트보드, 화상회의 등에 한정하지 않고 웹 응용 프로그램들을 협동작업 도구에 포함시키기에 이르렀다. 본 논문에서는 공간적으로 분산되어 있는 여러 작업자들이 상용 웹 브라우저를 이용하여 웹 문서와 웹 데이터베이스 내용을 공유함으로써 보다 효율적인 협동작업을 할 수 있는 시스템을 소개한다. 본 논문에서 소개하는 시스템은 주소 동기화(URL Synchronization), 스크롤 동기화(Scroll Synchronization) 및 윈도우 크기 동기화(Window Size Synchronization) 기능을 제공하여 사용자들이 서로 다른 터미널에서 웹 브라우저를 동기적으로 이용할 수 있게 한다. 주소 동기화는 인터넷 브라우징의 이동과 방향을 동기적으로 제어해주고, 폼 동기화는 웹 페이지 입력을 실시간으로 보여준다. 스크롤 동기화는 웹 페이지의 스크롤을 동기적으로 제어하여 웹 브라우저의 출력 내용이 길어질 경우에도 문서 안의 같은 부분을 공유 할 수 있게 하며 윈도우 크기 동기화는 윈도우의 길이와 넓이를 맞춰준다.

The Relationships Among Parental Attitudes, Parental Expectations, Motivation and Achievement Focusing on Mathematics (부모의 수학에 대한 태도와 기대가 수학 학습 동기와 성취도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the structural relationships among parental attitudes and expectations toward mathematics, mathematics motivation and achievement of their child in PISA 2012 of South Korea. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling(SEM) analysis. The results were as follows: First, parental attitudes toward mathematics had positive effects on parent academic and professional expectations in mathematics. Second, parental expectations also had positive effects on intrinsic motivation, instrumental motivation and math achievement for their child. Third, instrumental motivation had strongest effects on math achievement. The next factors which had effects on math achievement were intrinsic motivation and parental expectations in order. This results shows that the parental awareness of the usefulness and necessity of mathematics will help to increase the interest and value toward mathematics, math achievement and interest of math related carriers of their child.

The Development and Validation of Instrument for Measuring High School Students' STEM Career Motivation (고등학생들을 위한 이공계 진로동기 검사도구 개발 및 타당화)

  • The purpose of the present study is to develop and validate an instrument to assess STEM career motivation. We developed 32 items for 7 constructs (i.e. education experience, career value, academic self-efficacy, career self-efficacy, career interest, parents' support, and career motivation) on STEM career motivation based on Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT; Lent et al.,1994). 767 first year high school students participated in this study. The items were validated by Messick's framework (1995). In this study, we examined the validity of items in four aspects (i.e. content, substantive, structural and generalizability of validity). Methodologically, we used Rasch analysis, Exploratory factor analysis, confirmative factor analysis based on structural equation modelling. We confirmed that our instrument with 32 items as valid and reliable for measuring the STEM career motivation. In addition, we tested the STEM career motivation model based on SCCT. Our model explained the data well, suggesting that external factors (education experience and parents' support) and cognitive factors (perception of value, self-efficacy and interest) were significantly related to STEM career motivation.
