Measuring Apparatus for Convective Heat Transfer Coefficient of Nanofluids Using a Thermistor Temperature Sensor (더미스터 온도센서를 이용한 나노유체의 대류열전달계수 측정 장치)

  • Fine wires made from platinum have been used as sensors to evaluate the convection performance of nanofluids. However, the wire sensor is difficult to handle due to its fragility. Additionally, an unrealistic convective heat transfer coefficient (h) is obtained if a rigorous calibration process combined with precision equipment is not used for measurement. This paper proposes a new evaluation apparatus for h of nanofluids that uses a thermistor sensor instead of the platinum wire. The working principles are also explained in detail. Validation experiments for pure engine oil comparing h from the two sensors confirmed numerous practical benefits of the thermistor. The proposed system can be used as a useful tool to justify the adoption of developed nanofluids.

Dialetheism and the Sorites Paradox (양진주의와 더미 역설)

  • A dialetheic approach to the sorites paradox is to understand a borderline case as a true contradiction. In order to accommodate this approach, the possibility of an alternative that does not involve a contradiction should be considered first. Beall presents an alternative that has all virtues of dialetheic solution without contradiction. I do not think his alternative has no contradiction. Using the inclosure schema I will show it. Furthermore, I will show that all alternatives which do not accept the existence of cut-off point imply a contradiction. This means that we have to accept a true contradiction as long as we accept the intuition of vagueness, especially, what is called 'tolerance'.

Efficient Dummy Generation for Protecting Location Privacy (개인의 위치를 보호하기 위한 효율적인 더미 생성)

  • The researches protecting user's location in location-based services(LBS) have received much attention. Especially k-anonymity is the most popular privacy preservation method. k-anonymization means that it selects k-1 other dummies or clients to make the cloaking region. This reduced the probability of the query issuer's location being exposed to untrusted parties to 1/k. But query's location may expose to adversary when k-1 dummies are concentrated in query's location or there is dummy in where query can not exist. Therefore, we proposed the dummy system model and algorithm taking the real environment into account to protect user's location privacy. And we proved the efficiency of our method in terms of experiment result.

  • When cryptographic algorithms are implemented to provide countermeasures against the side-channel analysis, designers frequently employ the combined countermeasures between the first-order masking scheme and hiding schemes. Their combination can be enough to offer security and efficiency. However, if dummy operations can be distinguished from real operations, an attacker can extract the secret key with lower complexity than the intended attack complexity by the designer inserting the dummy operations. In this paper, we categorize types of variables used in a dummy operation when C language is employed. Then, we present the novel vulnerability that can distinguish dummy operations for all cases where the hiding schemes are applied using different types of variables. Moreover, the countermeasure is provided to prevent the novel vulnerability.

  • Multiple genes interacting is a difficult due to the limitations of parametric statistical method like as logistic regression for detection of gene effects that are dependent solely on interactions with other genes and with environmental exposures. Multifactor dimensionality reduction(MDR) statistical method by dummy variables was applied to identify interaction effects of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) responsible for longissimus mulcle dorsi area(LMA), carcass cold weight(CWT) and average daily gain(ADG) in a Hanwoo beef cattle population.

  • In Korea, side impact type accidents are one of the main cause of fatality. MLTM and KATRI established sie impact regulation as well as NCAP type assessments to protect occupants. Recently, WP29 formed a informal group to study a possible harmonization of pole side impact test methods with WorldSID as a GTR. In this paper, two different dummies, ES-2 and WorldSID were evaluated with three different types of pole side impact test methods.

  • 입체음향 생성을 위한 기존의 방법은 크게 바이노럴 녹음기법과 머리전달함수(HRTF)를 이용한 바이노럴 합성 기법으로 나눌 수 있다. 기존 2채널 더미헤드를 이용한 바이노럴 녹음기법과 바이노럴 합성기법은 표준 더미헤드를 사용함으로써 청취자 머리와의 오차로 정면 음상 정위의 어려움, "Front-back confusion", 이동 음 음상 정위 어려움 등의 문제로 실제 녹음 현장에서는 거의 사용되지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 3채널 더미헤드 기법은 이러한 문제점을 극복할 수 있고, 특히, HRTF 합성 시 기존의 HRTF의 문제점을 극복할 수 있는 새로운 HRTF를 구축할 수 있다. 따라서 바이노럴 합성 기법이 필요한 오락, 시뮬레이터, 음장 가청화 기술(Auralization) 프로그램 등 다양한 분야에서의 적용이 가능하다.

Automatic Generation of Patterns for Intrusion Detection System Evaluation (침입탐지 평가를 위한 침입패턴 자동 생성)

  • 최근 몇 년 동안 이루어진 네트웍 및 인터넷 시장의 발전과 더불어 빈번히 발생하는 시스템에 대한 침입으로 이를 방어하기 위한 여러 도구들이 개발되어왔다. 이러한 도구들 중 침입탐지시스템은 시스템 방어에 핵심적인 역할을 하는데, 현재까지 이를 평가하기 위한 자동화된 온라인 평가도구는 없는 실정이다. 보안관련 시장이 발달한 미국에서는 DARPA의 지원아래 관련된 연구가 진행되어 1998년부터 2000년까지 대규모의 침입탐지시스템 평가가 이루어졌으나, 이때의 평가들은 당시의 침입 수준만을 고려한 것으로 새로운 침입 환경에 대한 확장은 용이하지 않기 때문에, 급속도로 증가하는 침입 기술에 대응하기 위한 새로운 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 기존 침입코드를 이용하여 새로운 침입을 만들어 내어 침입탐지 평가도구에 적용할 수 있는 모듈 위치변환과 더미코드 삽입을 제안한다. 모듈 위치변환은 알려진 u2r코드를 모듈 단위로 나누고 나뉘어진 모듈의 위치 변환을 통해 새로운 침입을 만들어낸다. 또한 더미코드 삽입은 침입코드의 모듈 사이에 침입과 관련 없이 수행되는 정상 모듈을 삽입하여 새로운 침입을 만든다. 모듈 위치변환을 통해 평균 6.1%의 침입 변환율과 더미코드 삽입을 통해 새로운 침입을 만들었다.

Injury Optimization Study of WorldSID and EuroSID2re under Pendulum Loadings (진자시험을 통한 EuroSID2 및 WorldSID 더미의 상해 최적화 연구)

  • A new dummy has improved biofidelity from Fair to Good compare with EuroSID2re which is currently used for regulation tests and NCAP tests. Some instrumentation of each body region has been changed to measure the assessment of injury risk. The objective of this study is to find out the injury characteristic of each dummy and to calculate the relation between external force and injury for each dummy with pendulum tests. Finally, this study suggests the optimized external force to meet consumer tests. A new dummy named WorldSID for side impact will be introduced into EuroNCAP tests after 2015. Korea government is also planning to adopt WorldSID at KNCAP tests from 2017 and Global Technical Regulation (GTR) will also adopt WorldSID to oblique side pole crash.

The Characteristic Dissolution of Valuable Metals from Mine-Waste Rock by Heap Bioleaching, and the Recovery of Metallic Copper Powder with Fe Removal and Electrowinning (더미 미생물용출에 의한 폐-광석으로부터 유용금속 용해 특성과 Fe 제거와 전기분해를 이용한 금속구리분말 회수)

  • In order to recover the metallic copper powder from the mine-waste rock, heap bioleaching, Fe removal and electrowinning experiments were carried out. The results of heap leaching with the mine-waste rock sample containing 0.034% Cu showed that, the leaching rate of Cu were 61% and 62% in the bacteria leaching and sulfuric acid leaching solution, respectively. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH), hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$) and calcium hydroxide ($Ca(OH)_2$) were applied to effectively remov Fe from the heap leaching solution, and then $H_2O_2$ was selected for the most effective removing Fe agent. In order to prepare the electrolytic solution, $H_2O_2$ were again treated in the heap leaching, and Fe removal rates were 99% and 60%, whereas Cu removal rates were 5% and 7% in the bacteria and sulfuric acid leaching solutions, respectively. After electrowinning was examined in these leaching solution, the recovery rates of Cu were obtained 98% in bacteria and obtained 76% in the sulfuric leaching solution. The dendritic form of metallic copper powder was recovered in both leaching solutions.
