Item Analysis of information-related foundation in the Japanese National Center Test for University Admissions (일본 대학입시센터시험 정보관계기초 문항 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze of Information-related subjects on industry department of college scholastic ability test in Korea and Japan. These were compared with information-related foundation and data-technology foundation, programming on industry department test of vocational education area in college scholastic ability test in Korea and Japan and suggest implications of items development of college scholastic ability test in Korea. Based on the results of study, the following recommendations were made for new direction of items development of college scholastic ability test in Korea. First, Information-related foundation on industry department of National Center for University Entrance Examinations in Japan consisted of basic informations of agricultural, industry, commercial department etc. of vocational education area. Similarly it is necessary to introduce 'computer-related foundation' consist of common contents of several departments of college scholastic ability test in Korea. Second, it is necessary to diverse sub-item situations different from main item situations and introduce diverse situations of set type items of college scholastic ability test in Korea. Third, test for National Center for University Entrance Examinations in Japan consisted of several types items like this selecting answers on multi-answer group. it is necessary to introduce short answer type, completion type and supply type of college scholastic ability test in Korea.

Development of the Character Index Instrument for Engineering College Students (공과대학 학생 인성지수 도구 개발을 위한 기초 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the character index instrument for engineering college students. For this, literature review and survey were used. The survey was conducted with 275 engineering college students in D university. Finally, draft of character index instrument for engineering college students was developed with 10 factors and 47 questions. Based on the results, the investigation of engineering college students' needs is necessary to conduct for developing character education programs. And it is necessary to research validity of the draft of character index instrument for engineering college students. It is necessary to develop various convergence subjects by experiencing the character substantially for engineering college students.

  • The Teaching & Learning Center plays an important role in increasing the expertise of instructors and for directing the diffusion of innovation not only in primary & secondary education but also in education at the university level. In this study, the Performance Evaluation Model is devised and developed for improving the competency of the Teaching & Learning Center. It consists of three domains - (a) the planning domain, (b) the process domain, and (c) the performance domain - and 11 external indices and 8 internal indices. The Performance Evaluation Index and Guidelines are proposed based on this model.

  • Researches, studies, and most administration services at the universities are currently carried out through computers. So the IT infrastructure and. the information system of the university are becoming complicated. When a user has problems in using the information system, it is very difficult to get solution for that problem even a computer center or a help desk exists. In this paper we propose a method to establish a service desk based on the ITIL(Information Technology Infrastructure Library) to support efficient learning at the universities. The proposed method in this paper can be used to establish a systematic learning support system when errors of computation happen in learning, researches, and administrative tasks at the universities.

An Analysis of Instruction Consulting System in Universities and its Implications (대학 수업컨설팅 체제 분석 및 시사점)

  • The instructional consulting has emerged as an important teaching development program in university. So, this research aims to analyze the instructional consultation system in centers for teaching and learning in four-year-course universities and deduce implications from it. To this end, focusing on instruction consulting program types, status, and example cases for promotion, homepages were reviewed and phone interview was conducted from July to August, 2015. The results were as follows. First, 9 types of instruction consulting system in universities were found. Second, the status of offering the programs and implementing them did not correspond to each other. Third, universities were mainly using in-school consultants. Fourth, universities had various ways of using the results and reward systems. Lastly, as for the example cases, through various consulting programs, consultant pools, use of results and reward system, and connection with other programs, it was found that instruction consulting system was operated organically. The implications that the research result offers are as follows. First, there should be accurate diagnosis of instructors and customized consulting systems based on needs. Second, there should be supports inside schools and cooperation between external organizations that can help raise consulting teams of various backgrounds. Third, the instructional consulting should be made through joint considerations and reflections of instructors. Fourth, universities should provide systematical support for instructional consultation and have higher awareness about it.

The Effect of Solution Heat Treatment and Aging Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of Backward Extruded A6061 Alloy for Pressure Vessels (고압용기로 사용되는 후방압출된 알루미늄 6061합금의 기계적 특성에 미치는 용체화처리 및 시효처리의 영향)

  • Mechanical properties and precipitation behavior of backward extruded 6061 Al alloy for pressure vessel were investigated using tensile test, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). In this study, solution heat treatment (SHT) was performed at $535^{\circ}C$ for 30~90 min and aging treatment was conducted at 177 and $190^{\circ}C$ for 1~7 h. Maximum tensile strength of $36.6kgf/mm^2$ and yield strength of $33.29kgf/mm^2$ were achieved at the aging time of 5 h at $190^{\circ}C$. TEM observation showed that fine needle-like ${\beta}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ phase which has 35~45 nm of length was uniformly distributed in the aged 6061 Al alloy specimen. From tensile test, TEM and DSC analysis, it is expected that aging time of 2~5 h at $190^{\circ}C$ is suitable for the extruded A6061 used as pressure vessels.

  • Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy, which is commonly used as a biomaterial, is associated with a high elastic modulus and poor biocompatibility. This alloy presents a variety of problems on several areas. Therefore, the development of good non-toxic biocompatible biomaterials with a low elastic modulus is necessary. Particularly, hydroxyapatite (HA) is an attractive material for human tissue implantation. This material is widely used as artificial bone due to its good biocompatibility and similar composition to human bone. Many scientists have studied the fabrication of HA as a biomaterial. However, applications of bulk HA compact are hindered by the low strength of HA when it is sintered. Therefore, HA has been coated on Ti or Ti alloy to facilitate good bonding between tissue and the HA surface. However, there are many problems when doing this, such as the low bonding strength between HA and Ti due to the different thermal expansion coefficients and mechanical properties. In this study, a Ti-HA composite with a porous surface was successfully fabricated by pulse current activated sintering (PCAS) and a subsequent leaching process.

A Study on Influence Factors of the Academic Library on College Education and Research Performances (대학의 교육 및 연구성과에 미치는 대학도서관 영향요인 연구)

  • This study aimed at analyzing the influence factors of the academic library on college's education and research performances. The researched subject was 144 colleges targeted for information disclosure by Center for Higher Education Information Disclosure. The conclusion of the present study is as follows. First, the educational performance in college showed the positive relation with 'library environment' variables except 'seating capacity per capita'. Second, the educational performance in college was positively related to the variable of 'library outcome' and particularly, it was directly influenced by circulation, visit, and interlibrary loan. Third, the research performance in college showed a positive correlation with 'library environment' variables except facility scale of library. Fourth, the research performance in college showed a positive relation with the variable of 'library outcome' and research performance excluding 'publication in domestic journals per capita' was positively influenced by 'document delivery services usage per capita' and 'commercial DB usage per capita' in common.
