  • A comparison was made between workers exposed to organic solvents and those not exposed to them regarding stress perception and psychopathology, using GARS scale and SCL-90-R. The exposed group scored significantly higher than the non-exposed group in stress perception relevant to job-wort changes in relationship, sickness or injury, financial, and overall global area. The exposed group was significantly higher in somatization scale than the non-exposed group. However, there was no significant correlation between duration of exposure and psychopathology. In each of the groups. female workers showed more psychopathology than male ones. Age showed significantly nagative correlation with psychopathology. These results suggest that the exposed group shows higher stress perception and more psychopathology than the non-exposed group. Thus. it is emphasized that health policy makers as well as employers should pay more attention to health. espcially mental health for the workers exposed to organic solvents.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship among clinical nurses' emotional labor, health promoting behaviors and premenstrual syndrome (PMS), as well as to clarify factors that affect nurses' PMS. This was a descriptive study of 195 clinical nurses working in one university hospital and two general hospitals in the C region. Data collection was conducted from Jul 3 until Jul 21, 2017. T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression were used for analysis. The mean score of emotional labor was $3.35{\pm}0.63$ out of 5, that of health promoting behavior was $2.08{\pm}0.40$ out of 4 and that of PMS was $2.94{\pm}1.09$ out of 6. Premenstrual syndrome was significantly positively correlated with emotional labor (r=0.292, p<0.001) and interpersonal relationships in health promotion behavior (r=0.208, p=0.004). Factors influencing PMS were interpersonal relationships (${\beta}=0.54$, p=0.001), emotional labor (${\beta}=0.40$, p=0.001) and degree of menstrual pain (${\beta}=0.14$, p<0.001), which explained 30.0% of PMS (F=9.33, p <0.001). The results of this study suggest that intervention strategies may be necessary to decrease PMS by reducing menstrual pain, emotional labor and interpersonal relationship stress.

Data analysis was done using the SPSS 22.0 program, frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, Pearson's correlation, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression. The results show that the self-efficacy of nursing college students was 3.07 ± .39, stress coping was 2.15 ± .24, and college adaptation was 3.32 ± .49. There were significant differences in college life adaptation to stress coping, depending on major satisfaction, support motivation, and drinking. The higher the subject's self-efficacy and stress coping level, the higher the adaptation to university life. The subjects were 249 college students and data were collected through a self-reported structured questionnaire from Nov to Dec 2016. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The findings showed that drinking motives were the biggest factor influencing their problem drinking with coping, social, enhancement and conformity motives exerting special effects on it. As for correlations with problem drinking, interpersonal and ongoing task stress of life stress had positive correlations with problem drinking. Coping, social, enhancement, and conformity motives also had positive relations with problem drinking. Drinking motives had critical effects on the problem drinking of college students with coping, social, and enhancement motives strongly impacting on it. The findings necessitate examining the drinking motives of college students to make them choose to drink including negative emotions, social activities, and gatherings in order to prevent their problem drinking. These factors could explain 33% of the problem drinking. It is also required to develop methods for them to utilize resources other than drinking and run drinking education and temperance programs at the school level.

  • This study aimed to identify correlations among experience of violence, psychosocial stress and exhaustion in emergency medical technicians. In total, 393 emergency medical technicians were participated in the survey using an organized essay-type questionnaire. To determine psychosocial stress and exhaustion factors, a linear regression analysis was performed. In results, psychosocial stress factors were work units, the hope to keeping working in the present department, and verbal violence ($R^2=12.9%$), and the exhaustion factors were hope to keeping working at the present department, work units, and verbal violence ($R^2=14.5%$). In conclusion, it is suggested that strategies to deal with violence against subjects are educational programs to prevent violence and emotional support programs to decrease psychosocial stress, as well measures to improve the emergency rescue environment should be developed.
