Two Stage Small Area Estimation (이단계 소지역추정)

  • When Binomial data are obtained, logit and logit mixed models are commonly used for small area estimation. Those models are known to have good statistical properties through the use of unit level information; however, data should be obtained as area level in order to use area level information such as spatial correlation or auto-correlation. In this research, we suggested a new small area estimator obtained through the combination of unit level information with area level information.

  • 최근 웹 확산에 따른 일반인들의 인터넷 이용이 급증하였고 이에 따른 정보 기술도 빠르게 변화하고 있다. GIS 분야에서도 시대의 흐름에 맞춰 공간 데이타를 웹상에서 제공하는 웹 GIS 분야가 등장하게 되었다. 그러나, 상호이질적인 공간 데이타를 웹 기반 분산 환경에서 서비스하기 위해 표준 인터페이스와 각각의 웹 서비스 모델을 정의한 통합 시스템이 요구되고 있다. OGC에서는 기존 OPenGIS의 상호운용성을 웹 환경에서 지원하고, 또한 피쳐 인스턴스 단위의 지리정보를 접근하기 위해 새로운 웹 피쳐 서비스 구현 명세를 제안하였다. 웹 피쳐 서비스 구현 명세에서는 클라이언트로부터 HTTP를 통하여 요청된 공간.비공간 질의를 처리하기 위한 URL 컴포넌트를 정의하고 있다. 이 컴포넌트는 클라이언트 질의를 수행하여 피쳐 인스턴스 단위로 데이타를 검색 및 조작하고, 검색된 데이타는 GML로 정의하여 클라이언트로 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 OGC가 제안한 XML 기반의 표준 공간 데이타 포맷인 GML과 웹 피쳐 서비스 인터페이스를 이용해 분산된 지리정보 데이타를 웹 브라우저를 통하여 서비스할 수 있는 웹 피쳐 서비스 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

A Word Dictionary Structure for the Postprocessing of Hangul Recognition (한글인식 후처리용 단어사전의 기억구조)

  • In the postprocessing of Hangul recognition system, the storage structure of contextual information is an important matter for the recognition rate and speed of the entire system. Trie in general is used to represent the context as word dictionary, but the memory space efficiency of the structure is low. Therefore we propose a new structure for word dictionary that has better space efficiency and the equivalent merits of trie. Because Hangul is a compound language, the language can be represented by phonemes or by characters. In the representation by phonemes(P-mode) the retrieval is fast, but the space efficiency is low. In the representation by characters(C-mode) the space efficiency is high, but the retrieval is slow. In this paper the two representation methods are combined to form a hybrid representation(H-mode). At first an optimal level for the combination is selected by two characteristic curves of node utilization and dispersion. Then the input words are represented with trie structure by P-mode from the first to the optimal level, and the rest are represented with sequentially linked list structure by C-mode. The experimental results for the six kinds of word set show that the proposed structure is more efficient. This result is based on the fact that the retrieval for H-mode is as fast as P-mode and the space efficiency is as good as C-mode.

A Study on Estimates to Longevity Population of Small Area and Distribution Patterns using Vector based Dasymetric Mapping Method (벡터기반 대시매트릭 기법을 이용한 소지역 장수인구 추정 및 분포패턴에 관한 연구)

  • A number of case studies that find distribution of longevity population and influencing factors through the spatial data fusion using GIS techniques are growing. The majority cases of these studies are adopt census administrative boundary data for the spatial analysis. However, these methods cannot fully explain the phenomenon of longevity because there are a variety of spatial characteristics within the census administrative boundaries. Therefore, studies of spatial unit are required that realistically reflect the phenomenon of human longevity. The dasymetric mapping method enables to product of spatial unit more realistic than census administrative boundary map and statistic estimates of small area utilizing diversity spatial information. In this study, elderly population of small area has been estimated within statistically significant level that applied the vector based dasymetric mapping method. Also, the cluster analysis confirmed that the variation of local spatial relationship within census administrative boundary. The result of this study implied that the need for local-level studies of the human longevity and the validity of the dashmetric mapping techniques.

Strategic Plan for Building of Spatial Decision Support Service based on National Basic Districts (국가기초구역기반 의사결정지원시스템 구축전략)

  • The accumulation of spatial information - people, building, land and businesses- is required to make a rational decision successfully by utilizing the Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS). Many foreign countries have utilized the SDSS by defining the minimum unit of spatial area and implementing the spatial database based on it. Even though in Korea, National Basic Districts were created for the purpose of utilizing these districts as a basic area, they have not been utilized as a basic area of managing the spatial database due to the lack of attributes data. Therefore, the goal of this research is to suggest the strategies of building Spatial Decision Support Systems through the accumulation of the spatial data based on National Basic Districts. We propose the strategies in three different fields - legal system, database and application, services. We expect that the role of National Basic Districts w ill be strengthened by executing our strategies as a minimum spatial unit of Korea.

Development of the Ka-band 20watt SSPA (Solid State Power Amplifier) Using a Spatial Combiner (공간결합기를 이용한 Ka대역 20W급 SSPA 개발)

  • In this paper, we have studied how to improve the amplifiers efficiency by minimizing the combining loss when several unit power amplifiers are combined to obtain high output power. Specifically, we have developed Ka-band Spatial Combining Amplifier. The fabricated Spatial Combining Amplifier is a Ka-band 20W class SSPA, which uses a 5W class unit amplifier module 8EA designed using a GaN bare die. We also combined The unit amplifier module using 8-way spatial divider and combiner with a hybrid radial structure. The output combining loss of the fabricated spatial coupler is about 0.334dB, which is about 92.6% efficiency. In this paper, we developed a Spatial Combining Amplifier with a maximum saturation output of 10W and a power addition efficiency of over 15%. As a result, we achieved the maximum saturation output of 30W and the power addition efficiency of 19%.

  • 최근 대부분의 대규모로 추진되는 공공 서비스 목적이나 민간 사용 목적의 공간정보 구축 및 시스템 개발 분야는 실제 데이터베이스 구축이나 기술 개발에 앞서 ISP(정보화 전략계획: Information Strategy Planning)의 수립을 선행하는 경우가 일반적이다. 본 연구는 2000년부터 추진중인 한국전자통신연구원의 4S 기술개발 사업에 선행하여 수행된 4S 연계기술지원 사업의 ISP에 포함된 주요 기술사양을 분석하고, 분석 결과에 대하여 급속히 변화하고 있는 4S 관련 정보 기술동향을 반영함으로서 국내 상황에 적합하고 향후 사업에도 적용이 가능한 확장 모델로 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 기본적으로 4S 기술개발 사업은 GIS-SIIS-GNSS-ITS 등 공간정보를 대상으로 하거나 주요 정보자원으로 이용하는 분야의 연계 기술을 컴포넌트 기반으로 개발하고, 개발된 컴포넌트에 대해서는 컴포넌트의 통합 또는 조립과 시험 검증과정을 통하여 국내외에서 전개되고 있거나 추진중인 다양한 공간정보 관련 사업에 적용 가능하도록 하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이러한 성과로 4S 기술개발 사 4S 모바일 컴포넌트 개발등과 같은 단위사업을 중심으로 소개되고 있었으나 이러한 단위 사업의 도출과정이나 추진 전략 또는 컴포넌트 연계 또는 재사용 과정등에 대하여는 체계적으로 알려진 경우가 거의 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 부문에 대한 내용을 기술적인 측면에서 분석하고, 이를 보다 확대하여 4S 컴포넌트 기반 단위 사업의 활용 가능성을 발전시킬 수 있는 확장된 아키텍처의 정립 과정으로 수행되고 있다.

Grid Unit Based Analysis of Climate Change Driven Disaster Vulnerability in Urban Area (격자단위 분석기법을 적용한 도시 기후변화 재해취약성분석)

  • Today, because human settlements are concentrated into urban area, urban planning and management technique considering the complexity, diversity, and advanced situations of urban living space is being requested. Especially, to effectively respond to large and diverse climate change driven disaster, it is necessary to develop urban planning technique including land use, infrastructure planning based on disaster vulnerability analysis. However, because current urban climate change disaster vulnerability analysis system(UC-VAS) is using census output area as spatial analysis unit, it is difficult to utilize the analysis results for specific urban planning. Instead, this study applies the grid manner to two study areas. The analysis results show that it can generate more detailed results and it can be used for detailed zoning decision by comparing with areal photos. Furthermore, by describing the limitation of the grid manner and providing professional way to secure additional scientific character and objectivity of the future urban climate change disaster vulnerability analysis system, it is expected that this study contributes to the effectiveness of system management.

  • This study is about the case study on the application of modular system to the superstructure of floating architecture in Europe. There are many restraints in the onsite construction of floating architecture. Then, various industrialized construction methods are needed to reduce the portion of the onsite construction in floating architecture. Among the various industrialized construction methods, the modular system can be more suitable for floating architecture. At this background, this study analysed the European cases of the application of modular system and classified the types of applied modular system. As a result, this study could classify the three types of modular system, such as, building unit modular, space unit modular and planning concept modular, and define the characteristics of three types by comparing with each other.

A Case Study to Estimate the Unit Standard Infrastructure Cost in Levying the Korean Development Impact Fees (기반시설부담구역제에서의 표준단위설치비용 산정 사례연구)

  • The typical unit infrastructure cost estimation techniques adopted so far in implementing the Korean Impact Fee Zoning have rather been centered around the unilateral simple cost models. The techniques, as such, have frequently been criticized for their lack of flexibility in properly reflecting the regional differences as well as the peculiarities of individual development projects. The Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs (MLTM), in this regard, has recently introduced an enhanced alternative technique. Using the NGIS data, the study probes the viability of the MLTM's new technique by testing the entire estimation process based on the case area in Ansung City. Reflecting the City's characteristics, the study assumes a composite land use plan that accommodates the industrial area in addition to typical residential areas. As an extensive empirical case study, the research has found from the new technique considerable technical merits to overcome the existing shortcomings and summarized its significant policy implications.
