The present study was conducted to provide Korean word association lists for adults and children which are needed in research area of false memory. Associated words, asso[iation strength, and the proportion of cue set size to the total number of associated words produced through the discrete association technique were compared between the two groups. The data showed that associated words with high strength wert same or similar but associated words with lower strength were various in the two groups. The result that adults produced larger proportion of cue set size than children suggests that adults have more typical and more convergent semantic network than children. The present data will be served as a database useful for the studies to investigate cognitive functions in memory and other related area.

본 연구에서는 단어의 의미연상을 이용하여 시소러스를 작성해봄으로써 탐색 시소러스 구축에 있어 단어연상검사법의 적용가능성을 살펴보았다. 문헌정보학 분야를 대상으로 단어연상검사를 실시한 후 자극어와 반응어간의 의미관계를 파악하고 반응어와 통제어휘를 비교 분석하였다. 실험 및 분석결과, 단어연상검사를 이용하면 다양한 연관관계 용어들을 시소러스에 포함시킬 수 있으며, 통제어휘집에 나타난 하위관계와 동등관계 용어들을 어느 정도 반영할 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 단어의 의미연상을 이용하여 구축된 탐색 시소러스는 정보검색환경에서 질의확장에 응용될 수 있다.

The purpose of this pilot study is to construct a searching thesaurus with word association test in the library and information science field and to confirm it's functionality as searching aids through query expansion experiments. The test results were analyzed to four types of relationship between stimulus words and response words, and the terms of association thesaurus were compared with descriptors of an existing thesaurus. The test results show that the word association test is a fruitful method to identify many related terms and narrower and equivalent terms in some degree to the stimulus terms. Furthermore. in the query expansion experiment. the Performance of association thesaurus was better than that of an existing thesaurus, This result demonstrates that word association thesaurus can apply to query expansion.

As time goes by, most of information escapes human being's memory even though he/she tries hard to remember the information. On the other hand, when a human being takes a look at an image, he/she recollects once forgotten past memories and relates a specific object in the photo with associated words, which trigger new memories. Beside, he/she feels the affection of that time by the recalled memory. Therefore, this paper proposes an augmented memory system that assists recollection of user's past memories by using the images in social network services and user's dictionary for associated words. In the proposed system, if a user selects an object in an image, words associated with the object is provided to the user. If the user selects one of the associated words, the proposed system offers the list of other images containing the object of the selected word. The repetition of the aforementioned process can make the user recollect his/her memory and stimulate his/her affection. It is expected that the proposed system will be useful for revitalizing social network services.

사람은 문서를 읽을때 문서 전체를 읽지 않더라도 대표적인 단어를 보는 것만으로 정치, 경제, 교육, 스포츠 등의 분야를 정확히 인지한다. 이러한 단어를 분야연상어로 정의하고, 빈도수 조사를 통해 전자사전에 자동으로 구축한다. 이러한 분야연상 어는 문서의 초기인식 시 어느 분야인지 분명하지 않거나 애매한 경우에도 문서를 읽어가면서 분야를 인지할 수 있도록 도와준다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 특성을 가지고 있는 분야연상어를 이용하여 시스템에 새로운 문서가 주어질 때 해당 문서의 분야정보를 추출하고 분야연상어의 분포정보를 인간에게 그래픽컬 하게 보여줄 수 있도록 분야인식기를 설계하고 구현한다.

인간은 문서에서 대표적인 단어를 보는 것만으로 정치나 스포츠 등의 분야를 정확히 인지할 수 있다. 문서전체를 대상으로 하지 않고 부분적인 덱스트에서 출현하는 소수의 단어정보에서 문서의 분야를 정확히 결정하기 위해 분야연상어의 구축은 중요한 연구과제이다. 인간이 미리 분야체계를 정의하고, 각 분야에 해당하는 문서를 인터넷이나 서적을 통해 수집하고, 수집문서의 분야를 정확히 지시하는 분야연상어를 수집하는 방법을 제안한다. 문서의 분야결정 시정을 고려하여 분야연상어의 수준과 안정성랭크에 대하여 논의한다. 학습데이터에서 분야연상어 후보의 각 수준을 자동으로 결정하고, 컴퓨터가 제시하는 분야연상어의 수준, 안정성랭크, 집중률, 빈도정보를 이용하여 단일어로 된 분야연상어를 추출하는 방법을 제안한다.

The association, word frequency and imagery have been considered as the main factors that affect the word recognition. The present study aimed to examine the imagery effect and the interaction of the association effect while controlling the frequency effect. To explain the imagery effect, we compared the two theories (dual-coding theory, context availability model). The lexical decision task using priming paradigm was administered. The duration of prime words was manipulated as 20ms, 50ms, and 450ms in experiments 1, 2, and 3, respectively. The association and imagery of prime words were manipulated as the main factors in each of the three experiments. In experiment 1, the duration of prime words (20ms) which is expected to not activate the semantic context enough to affects the word recognition was used. As a result, only imagery effect was statically significant. In experiment 2, the duration of prime word was 50ms, which we expected to activate the semantic context without perceptual awareness. The result showed both the association and imagery effects. The interaction between the two effects was also significant. In experiment 3, to activate the semantic context with perceptual awareness, the prime words were presented for 450ms. Only association effect was statically significant in this experimental condition. The results of the three experiments suggest that the influence of the imagery was at the early stages of word recognition, while the association effect appeared rather later than the imagery. These results implied that the two theories are not contrary to each other. The dual-coding theory just concerned imagery effect which affects the early stage of word recognition, and context-availability model is more for the semantic context effect which affects rather later stage of word recognition. To explain the word recognition process more completely, some integrated model need to be developed considering not only the main 3 effects but also the stages which extends along the time course of the process.
