Study on the Temperature Separation Phenomenon in a Vortex Chamber (와류실의 온도 분리 현상에 대한 연구)

  • A vortex chamber is a simple device that separates compressed gas into a high-temperature stream and a low-temperature stream. It is increasing in popularity as a next-generation heat exchanger, but the flow physics associated with it is not yet well understood. In the present study, both experimental and numerical analyses were performed to investigate the temperature separation phenomenon inside the vortex chamber. Static pressures and temperatures were measured using high-sensitivity pressure transducers and thermocouples, respectively. Computational fluid dynamics was applied to simulate 3D unsteady compressible flows. The simulation results showed that the temperature separation is strongly dependent on the diameter of the vortex chamber and the supply pressure at the inlet ports, where the latter is closely related to the viscous work. The previous concept of a pressure gradient wave may not be a reasoning for temperature separation phenomenon inside the vortex chamber.

Spatial Distribution Modeling of Daily Rainfall Using Co-Kriging Method (Co-kriging 기법을 이용한 일강우량 공간분포 모델링)

  • Hydrological factors, especially the spatial distribution of interpretation on precipitation is often topic of interest in studying of water resource. The popular methods such as Thiessen method, inverse distance method, and isohyetal method are limited in calculating the spatial continuity and geographical characteristics. This study was intended to overcome those limitations with improved method that will yield higher accuracy. The monthly and yearly precipitation data were produced and compared with the observed daily precipitation to find correlation between them. They were then used as secondary variables in Co-kriging method, and the result was compared with the outcome of existing methods like inverse distance method and kriging method. The comparison of the data showed that the daily precipitation had high correlation with corresponding year's average monthly amounts of precipitation and the observed average monthly amounts of precipitation. Then the result from the application of these data for a Co-kriging method confirmed increased accuracy in the modeling of spatial distribution of precipitation, thus indirectly reducing inconsistency of the spatial distribution of hydrological factors other than precipitation.

  • An accurate feedback about customer satisfaction is a very important factor to efficiently manage achievements in the service industry. However, Korea is lack of quantitative and standardized system of customer satisfaction measurement. This paper suggests standardized survey system with more in-depth and various methods of questionnaire survey as well as analysis which is able to efficiently evaluate customer satisfaction. This system is that investigates customer satisfaction of process based services, which uses various methods including simply designed questionnaires, customer satisfaction survey via mobile, and an investigation on follow-up satisfaction rate. In addition, we adopted scoring system to digitize a degree of satisfaction rate, so the suggested system provides an opportunity to improve specific objects those need to be improved by clearly evaluating a degree of satisfaction rate and applying various analysis techniques, such as IPA (Importance Performance Analysis), process analysis, and expectation analysis etc. This study substantiates suggested system through applying it to travel agency which is a representative enterprise of tour service.

  • Recently, many companies improving their management performance by building a powerful brand value which is recognized for trademark rights. However, as growing up the size of online commerce market, the infringement of trademark rights is increasing. According to various studies and reports, cases of foreign and domestic companies infringing on their trademark rights are increased. As the manpower and the cost required for the protection of trademark are enormous, small and medium enterprises(SMEs) could not conduct preliminary investigations to protect their trademark rights. Besides, due to the trademark image search service does not exist, many domestic companies have a problem that investigating huge amounts of trademarks manually when conducting preliminary investigations to protect their rights of trademark. Therefore, we develop an intelligent similar trademark search model to reduce the manpower and cost for preliminary investigation. To measure the performance of the model which is developed in this study, test data selected by intellectual property experts was used, and the performance of ResNet V1 101 was the highest. The significance of this study is as follows. The experimental results empirically demonstrate that the image classification algorithm shows high performance not only object recognition but also image retrieval. Since the model that developed in this study was learned through actual trademark image data, it is expected that it can be applied in the real industrial environment.

A Review of Statistical Methods in the Korean Journal of Orthodontics and the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (대한치과교정학회지(KJO)와 미국교정학회지(AJODO)에서 사용된 통계기법의 비교분석 및 고찰(1999-2003))

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes and types of statistical methods used in the Korean Journal of Orthodontics (KJO) and the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJODO) from )999 to 2003. The frequency of use, transitions, assumption check of statistical methods and types of advanced statistical methods were examined from each journal. The study consisted of 247 articles published in the KJO and randomly chosen 50 articles per year which were original articles and used statistical methods T-test, analysis of variance(ANOVA), correlation analysis, nonparametric analysis. regression analysis chi-square test. factor analysis, were the order of statistical methods most frequently used in the KJO, while t-test. ANOVA, nonparametric analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, chi-square test. factor analysis. were the order of statistical methods used in the AJODO The changes of statistical methods observed in the KJO were not significant $(X^2=17.4\;p=0.5881)$ but the changes observed in the AJODO was seen to be significant $(x^2=42.4,\;p=0.0397)$ Some of the studies examined had overlooked the assumptions of the statistical methods employed. Data investigation such as outlier should be performed before analysis and alternative statistical approaches are applied for a small sample size. Types of advanced statistical methods were factor analysis and discriminant analysis in the KJO and Intention-To-Treat (ITT) analysis in clinical trials through multi-center, survival analysis and Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE) in the AJODO. Appropriate analysis approaches and interpretations should be applied for the correlated and repeated measurements of the orthodontic data set.

Growth of Carbon Nanotube by Chemical Vapor Deposition (화학기상증착법에 의한 탄소 나노튜브의 성장)

  • 열CVD법에 의하여 아세틸렌 가스를 탄소 원으로 사용한 탄소 나노튜브의 성장거동을 조사하였다. 닉켈 분말의 직경을 15nm 내지 90nm 범위로 조정하여 기판 에 촉매로 배열하였다. 탄소 나노튜브는 질소, 수소, 알곤, 암모니아 등 여러가지의 가스 분위기에서 증착되었으며 이들 가스의 혼합 분위기가 탄소나 노튜브의 성장에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 증착은 대기압 압력하에서 85$0^{\circ}C$ 의 온도에서 이루어졌다. 순수한 질소 분위기에서는 탄소 나노튜브의 성장이 이루어지지 않고 두꺼운 탄소 층이 기판 위에 중착되었다. 이 조건에서는 탄소로 뒤덮혀진 닉켈 입자가 탄소 나노튜브 형성의 촉매 역할을 담당하지 못했다. 그러나 질소와 수소의 혼합분위기에서는 수소의 농도가 증가함에 따라 탄소 나노튜브의 성장이 증진되었다. 순수한 수소 분위기에서는 일정한 방향이 없이 꼬여진 탄소 나노튜브가 성장되었다. 탄소 나노튜브의 성장은 분위기 가스로 암모니아를 사용하였을 때 훨씬 더 증진되었다. 수직으로 배열된 탄소 나노튜료를 암모니아 분위기에서는 성장시킬 수 있었으나 암모니아와 같은 비율의 수소와 질소 가스의 혼합 분위기 하에서 는 탄소 나노튜브의 성장을 얻을 수 없었다. 이러한 결과를 여기에서는 닉켈 촉매의 표면에 과도하게 석출된 탄소의 촉매 passivation으로 설명하였다. 탄소 나노튜브의 증착을 위해서는 아세틸렌 가스의 분해율이 너무 과도하지 않게 즉 촉매의 표면이 과도한 탄소의 증착으로 수동태화 되지않도록 조절되어야 한다는 것이다. 이 연구결과는 분위기 가스의 조성이 탄소 나노튜브의 성장에 있어서 그 반웅 kinetics에 큰 영향을 미친다는 것을 잘 보여주고 있다. 또한 암모니아 분위기에서는 촉매 닉켈입자 표면에 질화물층이 형성되어 탄소 나노튜브의 성장에 영향을 미쳤다는 것도 알 수 있었다.며 실제 가공업체에서도 터짐 문제가 발견되지 않았다. 결론적으로 표면층의 인장강도가 패션/구부림에 가장 중요한 변수로 작용하며 어떠 한 형태로 표면층의 인장강도를 향상시킬 경우 침엽수 펄프는 재생펄프로 대체가 가능 할 것으로 판단된다.하는 통계기법 중의 하나인 주성분회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주성분 분석은 여러 개의 반응변수에 대하여 얻어진 다변량 자료의 다차원적인 변 수들을 축소, 요약하는 차원의 단순화와 더불어 서로 상관되어있는 반응변수들 상호간 의 복잡한 구조를 분석하는 기법이다. 본 발표에서는 공정 자료를 활용하여 인공신경망 과 주성분분석을 통해 공정 트러블의 발생에 영향 하는 인자들을 보다 현실적으로 추 정하고, 그 대책을 모색함으로써 이를 최소화할 수 있는 방안을 소개하고자 한다.금 빛 용사 둥과 같은 표면처리를 할 경우임의 소재 표면에 도금 및 용 사에 용이한 재료를 오버레이용접시킨 후 표면처리를 함으로써 보다 고품질의 표면층을 얻기위한 시도가 이루어지고 있다. 따라서 국내, 외의 오버레이 용접기술의 적용현황 및 대표적인 적용사례, 오버레이 용접기술 및 용접재료의 개발현황 둥을 중심으로 살펴봄으로서 아직 국내에서는 널리 알려지지 않은 본 기 술의 활용을 넓이고자 한다. within minimum time from beginning of the shutdown.및 12.36%, $101{\sim}200$일의 경우 12.78% 및 12.44%, 201일 이상의 경우 13.17% 및 11.30%로 201일 이상의 유기의 경우에만 대조구와 삭제 구간에 유의적인(p<0.05) 차이를 나타내었다.는 담수(淡水)에서 10%o의 해수(海水)로 이주된지 14일(日) 이후에 신장(腎臟)에서 수축된 것으로 나타났다. 30%o의 해수(海水)에 적응(適應)된 틸라피아의 평균 신사구체(腎絲球體)의 면적은 담수(淡水)에

Application of Geophysical Methods to Cavity Detection at the Ground Subsidence Area in Karst (물리탐사 기술의 석회암 지반침하 지역 공동탐지 적용성 연구)

  • Investigations of underground cavities are required to provide useful information for the reinforcement design and monitoring of the ground subsidence areas. It is, therefore, necessary to develop integrated geophysical techniques incorporating different geophysical methods in order to accurately image and to map underground cavities in the ground subsidence areas. In this study, we conducted geophysical investigations for development of integrated geophysical techniques to detect underground cavities at the field test site in the ground subsidence area, located at Yongweol-ri, Muan-eup, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do. We examined the applicability of geophysical methods such as electrical resistivity, electromagnetic, and microgravity to cavity detection with the aid of borehole survey results. The underground cavities are widely present within the limestone bedrock overlain by the alluvial deposits in the test site where the ground subsidences have occurred in the past. The limestone cavities are mostly filled with groundwater or clays saturated with water in the site. The cavities, thus, have low electrical resistivity and density compared to the surrounding host bedrock. The results of the study have shown that the zones of low resistivity and density correspond to the zones of the cavities identified in the boreholes at the site, and that the geophysical methods used are very effective to detect the underground cavities. Furthermore, we could map the distribution of cavities more precisely with the study results incorporated from the various geophysical methods. It is also important to notice that the microgravity method, which has rarely used in Korea, is a very promising tool to detect underground cavities.

Development of Sample Survey Design for the Industrial Research and Development Statistics (표본조사에 의한 기업 연구개발활동 통계 작성방안)

  • The Survey on the Industrial Research and Development(R&D) is the primary source of information on R&D performed by Korea industrial sector. The results of the survey are used to assess trends in R&D expenditures. Government agencies, corporations, and research organizations use the data to investigate productivity determinants, formulate tax policy, and compare individual company performance with industry averages. Recently, Korea Industrial Technology Association(KOITA) has collected the data by complete enumeration. Koita has, currently, considered sample survey because the number of R&D institutions in industry has been dramatically increased. This study develops survey design for the industrial research and development(R&D) statistics by introducing a sample survey. Companies are divided into 8 groups according to the amount of R&D expenditures and firm size or type. We collect the sample from 24 or 8 sampling strata and compare the results with those of complete enumeration survey. The estimates from 24 sampling strata are not significantly different to the results of complete enumeration survey. We propose the survey design as follows: Companies are divided into 11 groups including the companies of which R&D expenditures are unknown. All large companies are included in the survey and medium and small companies are sampled from 70% and 3%. Simple random sampling (SRS) is applied to the small company partition since they show uniform distribution in R&D expenditures. The independent probability proportionate to size (PPS) sampling procedure may be applied to those companies identified as 'not R&D performers'. When respondents do not provide the requested information, estimates for the missing data are made using imputation algorithms. In the future study, new key variables should be developed in survey questionnaires.

A Movie Recommendation System based on Fuzzy-AHP with User Preference and Partition Algorithm (사용자 선호도와 군집 알고리즘을 이용한 퍼지-계층적 분석 기법 기반 영화 추천 시스템)

  • The current recommendation systems have problems including the difficulty of figuring out whether they recommend items that actual users have preference for or have simple interest in, the scarcity of data to recommend proper items due to the extremely small number of users, and the cold-start issue of the dropping system performance to recommend items that can satisfy users according to the influx of new users. In an effort to solve these problems, this study implemented a movie recommendation system to ensure user satisfaction by using the Fuzzy-Analytic Hierarchy Process, which can reflect uncertain situations and problems, and the data partition algorithm to group similar items among the given ones. The data of a survey on movie preference with 61 users was applied to the system, and the results show that it solved the data scarcity problem based on the Fuzzy-AHP and recommended items fit for a user with the data partition algorithm even with the influx of new users. It is thought that research on the density-based clustering will be needed to filter out future noise data or outlier data.

Estimating the Economic Effects of Smart Tourism Mobility in Seoul: Using RAS Method (RAS 기법을 활용한 서울 스마트관광 모빌리티의 경제적 파급효과 분석)

  • One of the key domains within a smart tourism city, smart mobility, encompasses advanced transportation means and services rooted in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This includes shared bicycles, scooters, car-sharing services, smart transportation infrastructure, and more, aiming to surpass limitations of conventional transport and improve the movement of people and goods. It also serves tourists as an affordable and convenient mode of transport between attractions while also enhancing the overall travel experience. This study has defined 'smart tourism mobility' as a form of mobility grounded in ICT, exhibiting exceptional connectivity, serving public interest, and serving as a mode of transport for both residents and tourists in a smart tourism city. The research aimed to outline the scope of smart tourism mobility-related industries through expert Delphi surveys and estimate their economic effects within a smart tourism city. Specifically, this study updated 2015 input-output table and made 2020 regional input-output table of Seoul adopting RAS method and location quotient method. The results showed that the about 2.8 billion KRW investment of Seoul in smart tourism mobility may create more than 4.1 billion KRW in production inducement effect which is expected to create more than 1.6 billion KRW of income-inducing effect, 3.6 billion KRW of value-added-inducing effect, and 54 employment across all industries in Seoul in 2022.
