Cache Performance Analysis of Multiprocessor Systems for OLTP Applications based on a Memory-Resident DBMS (메모리 상주 DBMS 기반의 OLTP 응용을 위한 다중프로세서 시스템 캐쉬 성능 분석)

  • Currently, multiprocessors are evaluated almost exclusively with scientific applications. Commercial applications are rarely explored because it is difficult to obtain the source codes of commercial DBMS. Even when the source code is available, such as for POSTGRES, understanding the source code enough to perform detailed meaningful performance evaluations is a daunting task for computer architects.To evaluate multiprocessors with commercial applications, we have developed our own DBMS, called EZDB. EZDB is a parallelized DBMS, loosely inspired from POSTGRES, and running on top of a software architecture simulator. It is capable of executing parallel programs written in SQL. Contrary to POSTGRES, EZDB is not intended as a prototype for a production-quality DBMS. Its purpose is to easily run and evaluate the performance of commercial applications on multiprocessor architectures. To illustrate the usefulness of EZDB, we showed the cache performance data collected for the TPC-B benchmark on a shared-memory multiprocessor. The simulation results showed that the data structures exhibited unique sharing characteristics and that their locality properties and working sets were very different from those in scientific applications.

  • Internet becomes absolutely necessary tools due to rapid progress of information technology. Educational correspondence about an age of information demand is focused on a learner and remote education based on information technology WBI(Web Based Instruction) is a formation that remotly educate a learner using web, possible mutual reaction between instructor and learner, submit various studying material, has a good point to overcome spatial restriction. Internal and external standardization working is accelerated and recently XML security studies are activated using XML which is next generation web standard document format. In this paper, we propose multi-Certification of agent system using XML digital signature to satisfy security requirement.

  • In this paper, smartphone based measuring device was developed by integration of several sonsors such as moving, temperature, pulsation, respiration and hearing and sever/client programs was developed for the data acquisition and communication between smartphone and server computer. Then, the concept of CSI(combined safety index) was proposed for the comprehensive diagnositcs of workers status. For the validation of the proposed concept, the real data was acquired by boarding at training ship of korea maritime and ocean university. The acquired data was analyzed with the stochastical method of regressionn, then the meaningful result was driven that could explain the relation between the risky situation and the measured chronical data.

  • Nowadays, the majority of the manufacturing plant equipment tend to be transformed with automation system than traditional manual equipment. Production manager to make the process decision-making, not accustomed to manage and take advantage of professional decision-making technique. So rather than using the system proposed, it is common to undergo sporadic measures through the external intermediary. In this paper, whether possible delivery to match the delivery through the issue and decision-making system of the data input to be generated in the manufacturing process, review the supply information of the material used in the process, a plurality of input / output device We have proposed an input module that utilizes the Android Application and ATmega2560. As a result, easily cope with the improvement and change of process information of the work efficiency of the production business of the manufacturing process, and reduced plant data missing tasks, and management improvement to the improvement of the delivery compliance and product satisfaction by improving productivity we try to contribute to.

  • 최근 소프트웨어 개발 및 운영 환경은 C/S, 분산환경, 다중 플랫폼, 다양한 방법론 등으로 매우 복잡해지고 있으며 이러한 환경에서 만들어지는 모든 리소스들을 효율적으로 관리한다는 것은 쉽지 않은 일이다. 이에 따라 최근 몇 년 동안 국내의 개발환경에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 소프트웨어 형상관리(SCM: Software Configuration Management)시스템들이 개발되고 있다. 그러나 지금까지의 형상관리시스템들은 버전관리, Build 관리, 작업공간관리, 프로세스관리들에 국한되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴포넌트의 형상관리에 대한 방법을 제시하고 있다. 먼저, 컴포넌트의 정보를 리파지토리에 저장하여 관리한다 리파지토리에 저장된 정보를 이용하여 컴포넌트의 버전, 크기, 개발환경, 데이터베이스, 만든 날짜, 수정날짜, 엑세스한 날짜들을 파악할 수 있다. 또한 컴포넌트가 실행 될 때 연동되어 사용되는 컴포넌트 객체들을 파악할 수 있으며, 그 access 빈도수를 도표화하여 개발자나 관리자가 모니터링이 가능하도록 지원한다.

  • Most work done in CSCW (Computer Supported Collaborative Work) system has been targeted toward supporting the exchange of documents or messages among group members, and yet support for cognitive aspects such as group organization, division and merge of work, and work flow control. The objective of the study is to provide CSCW environment for the engineering design process such as CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering). The proposed DCWA (Distributed Collaborative Writing Aid) system suggests a mechanism that unifies the group organization, work division, and work flow control in the CAO, CASE, and software simulation tool. In particular, CAD relates the group and work partition by providing expressing the relation of drawing object (e.g., binding, attachment, and proportional scaling) which is owned by different members of group, and CASE combining with the simulation tool supports the flexibility of the work flow control. Simulating the prototype before manu-facturing a product can reduce time and cost in development.

Effects of Lifestyle, Stress and Life Satisfaction on Sleep Quality in University Student : Focusing on Department of Occupational Therapy Students (대학생의 생활양식, 스트레스 및 삶의 만족도가 수면의 질에 미치는 영향 : 작업치료학과 대학생을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects for lifestyle, stress and life satisfaction on sleep quality in university students. The participants were 46 university students attending the department of occupational therapy. Participants responded to responses to the lifestyle questionnaire and Morning and Evening Questionnaire-Korean version(MEQ-K). The levels of stress and life satisfaction reported by participants were obtained using the Korean version of Perceive Stress Test-4(K-PSS-4) and Korean version of Satisfaction With Life Scale(K-SWLS). The quality of sleep was assessed using Korean Modified Leeds Evaluation Questionnaire(KMLSEQ). An independent t-test, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed to investigate factors related to quality of sleep. The analysis of correlations between health status, morning type of chronotype, and life satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation between quality of sleep. As a result of analyzing the quality of sleep according to the chronotype, the main family house and dormitory group showed higher sleep quality than the boarding group. As a result of the multiple regression analysis, the chronotype predicts quality of sleep. This study could provide information to improve the quality of sleep for university students by identify factors affecting sleep for university students in occupational therapy.

  • How to process event message traffic efficiently is important to collaboration among multiple distributed users, and it is a key research issue in the virtual environment fields. AOI model is one of solutions for this problem; which reduces message traffic by restricting event propagation region into an area in which a user is interested. However, in previous systems, it is difficult to adapt to dynamic environment where changes in the number and movement of participants are frequent. This paper proposes a new event management model, called extended AOI model, which is helpful to improve flexibility and efficiency of traditional models, and is able to extend its functions by introducing multi-layered regions. The proposed model can be applied to DVE and MMORPG as an event filtering model.

The Association between Vinyl House Work and Low Back Pain among Some Rural Residents (일부 농촌지역주민의 비닐하우스 작업여부와 요통과의 관련성)

  • To find the association, between vinyl house work and the prevalence of low back pain, a questionnaire survey was made toward 215 vinyl house farmers and 228 general farmers without vinyl house who are cared by Jungjung Community health Practioners at Soobuk Myun, Damyang-gun, Chollanamdo. 1. Vinyl house farmers were significantly younger in age, higher in educational status higher survival rate of spouse, higher economic state and less cared by medical aid than general farmers. 2. Vinyl house farmers showed shorter career for agricultural work, used modern farming instrument more frequently and worked with sitting position. 3. During unbusy season in general agriculture, vinyl house farmers consumed significantly more time in agricultural work and general activity, but no significant difference of time of the above activity among busy season. 4. During the last spring season when most vinyl house work was performed, vinyl house farmers showed significantly higher prevalence of low back pain than general farmers, but no significant difference of prevalence among the two groups for the last one week. 5. By the simple analysis statistical significant related variables with low back pain was found to be sex(p<0.001), educational status(p<0.05), work posture(p<0.001) and use of modern agricultural machine(p<0.05). 6. By the multiple logistic regression the odds ratio for low back pain among vinyl house farmers were 2.08(95% confidence interval 1.31-3.00) compared to general farmers, the odds ratio among female was 2.35(95% confidence interval 1.24-4.47) to male, the odds ratio among illiterate persons were 2.60(95% confidence interval 1.24-4.47) to high school graduate, and the odds ration among primary school graduate was 2.19(95% confidence interval 1.04-4.47) to high school graduate. In conclusion because vinyl house farmers showed significantly higher rates of low back pain compared to farmers without vinyl house, continuous study to find the true cause of low back pain among vinyl-house farmers and active effort to prevent low back pain are necessary.

  • The sharing of objects for authoring frequently occurs among participating users in a cooperative authoring system where many users can collaborate. Floor control is therefore needed not only for minimizing the race condition during object accesses but also for ensuring the exclusive use of objects. h floor is a temporary access right that is given to a participating user who wants to use a shared object. Although the floor control methods for a single session environment can be found in various literature, those methods for a multi-session environment can hardly be found. In a multi-session environment, an object can be shared by multiple sessions. As a solution to the problems due to object sharing in such an environment, this paper presents a floor control method based on the chair-of-chair guidance. This method is an extension of those based on traditional chair guidance; the chair-of-chair elected among session chairs exists in this method.
