Multiuser Detection Using Hopfield Neural Network Algorithm in Multi-rate CDMA Communications (멀티 레이트 CDMA환경에서의 홉필드 신경망 알고리즘을 이용한 다중 사용자 검출기법)

  • In this paper, we consider efficient multiuser receiver structures using Hopfield neural network algorithm focused to construct a synchronous multi-rate code division multiple access (CDMA) system. Although the optimum receiver for multiuser detection can be realized attaining the best BER performance, it is too complex for practical implementation. Therefore, we propose near-optimal receivers of relatively low computationally complex multiuser detection structures for realizing multi-rate CDMA system and their performances are compared with conventional matched filter and other prominent multi-rate multiuser detectors, Computer simulations show that the Hopfield neural network based multiuser receiver achieves substantially better BER performance in Rayleigh fading environments.

  • 본 논문에서는 직육면체 형태의 실내 공간에서 다중 개체 영역을 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 평면 검출 알고리즘은 평면성을 띄지 않거나 관측이 미흡한 영역에 대해 기하 정보를 검출할 수 없다. 이로 인해 장애물과 같은 개체의 영역을 파악할 수 없는 한계점이 있다. 제안 방법은 유클리드 클러스터링을 기반으로 군집화를 수행하고, 클러스터의 간소화를 통해 다중 개체 영역을 검출한다. 제안 방법은 직육면체 공간의 내부표면을 활용해 직육면체 공간과 좌표계를 공유하는 주요 개체들의 영역을 다량으로 검출한다. 제안 방법은 실험을 통해 다중 개체 영역이 적합하게 검출되었음을 보인다.

  • In this paper, we develop a blind adaptive multiuser detector for synchronous CDMA with a noise-whitened filter. To Improve the symbol error probability performance, Decision-Feedback Blind Adaptive Multiuser Detector(DFBD) is proposed and compared with Blind Adaptive Multiuser Detector(BD). The proposed DFBD is slightly improved.

  • 센서 네트워크 라우팅에 대한 공격은 무선이라는 네트워크 환경 때문에 애드혹과 유사하게 이루어 지고 있다. 하지만 이를 대처하는 보안 매커니즘은 노드가 보다 제한된 자원을 가지므로 그대로 적용할 수 없어 새로운 연구가 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 웜홀 이라는 라우팅 공격에 대하여 다중 경로를 이용하여 공격을 회피하고 검출하는 방법에 대하여 제안한다. 다중 경로 환경에서 주경로와 대체 경로간 홉당 지연시간을 비교하여 웜홀 경로를 회피, 검출하고 검출 오차를 줄이기 위하여 블랙리스트를 방법을 사용한다. Ns-2 시뮬레이션 환경에서 제안한 방법을 이용한 웜홀 검출 메커니즘을 시뮬레이션하고 웜홀과 정상 노드의 검출율을 비교하여 성능을 측정하였다.

  • As the development of mobile devices, mobile phones are equipped with many features. Video-call feature is one of them. In this paper, we present distance measurement between speaker and smart-phone using multiple color spaces and multiple thresholds. first, detect face based on skin color information. and second, measure distance between speaker and smart-phone using the detected face region. Especially, the first considering point in the development of face area detection is real-time processing and the second point is robustness to solve the problems of face detection errors due to rapid change of object movement, lighting and background between adjacent frames.

  • A sensor fault detection method for small turbo shaft engine considering multiple trim conditions is proposed. This engine is used in a helicopter. Firstly, under multiple trim conditions, we derive the linearized models from a nonlinear model which includes engine, rotor and feedback control loop. As a fault detection method, we adopt the Kalman filter based method. To keep continuity of estimates between the changes of trim conditions, we reconfigure the initial values of state variables at trim changes. We detect the faults with two steps that when the first filter does not alarm the faults for some sensors, the second filter is runned for other sensor. Via some simulations we show that the proposed method works well under multiple trim conditions.

  • This paper presents the blind multiuser detector using the constant modulus algorithm(CMA) to solve the near-far problem in DS-CDMA systems. The convergence property of the detector is compared with the conventional MOE(minimum output energy) detector by means of SIR(signal-to-interference ratio). The MOE detector needs both the spreading code of the users and the timing information, while proposed methods needs only information about the spreading code of users Simulation results show that the CMA-based detector is superior to the conventional blind MOE multiuser detector. For this, the BER performance was tested using different values of SNR and near-far ratio. The SIR is also investigated for different number of users in AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels. We have observed that the proposed blind multiuser detector performs better than conventional MOE multiuser detector.

  • Frequency selective fading occurs due to the Doppler Effect in mobile communication systems. The performances of the systems are rapidly reduced due to effect of multiuser interference under frequency selective channels at DS-CDMA systems. To overcome these problems, we adopted the multi-carrier modulation techniques, and it is able to solve the frequency selective channel effects by means of these modulation techniques, and interference problems due to multiuser access are solved by means of multiuser detection techniques. In this paper, we proposed the blind MOE/PIC multiuser detection method which is composed of both the blind multiuser detection technique and parallel interference canceller. Thus, simulation results show that the proposed method performs better than conventional methods.

Continuous Multiple Phase Differential Detection of Trellis-coded MDPSK-OFDM (연속적인 다중 위상 검출을 이용한 트렐리스 부호화된 MDPSK-OFDM)

  • In this paper, the Viterbi decoder containing new branch metrics of the squared Euclidean distance with multiple order phase differences is introduced in order to improve the bit error rate (BER) in the differential detection of the trellis-coded MDPSK-OFDM. The proposed Viterbi decoder is conceptually same as the Continuous multiple phase differential detection method that uses the branch metric with multiple phase differences. Also, we describe the Viterbi algorithm in order to use this branch metrics. Our study shows that such a Viterbi decoder improves BER performance without sacrificing bandwidth and power efficiency Also. the proposed algorithm ran be used in the single carrier modulation.

  • In this paper, multiuser detector (MUD) based on radial basis function (RBF) is proposed and simulated for a multicode direct sequence/code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) system in a multipath fading channel. The performance of RBF-based MUD is compared with that of many suboptimal multiuser detectors in terms of bit error probability. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the RBF-based MUD outperforms decorrelating detector, and achieves near-optimum performance under various environments. The results in this paper can be applied to design of MUD for a multicode DS/CDMA system.
