Assessment of Stand Diversity Change by Different Silvicultural Treatments for Natural Deciduous Forests in Mt. Gariwang (가리왕산 일대 천연 활엽수림의 산림작업별 시업전후의 임분다양성 변화 평가)

  • This study was conducted to estimate the changes of stand diversity before and after applying three different silvicultural treatments such as selection cutting system, two-storied system, and shelterwood system. Data were collected in the natural deciduous forests in Pyungchang of Gangwon Province, Korea. Nine permanent sampling plots of 0.09 ha were established in the forests and the each of silvicultural treatments was applied to three sampling plots, respectively. Some tree variables were measured in each stand before and after the silvicultural treatments were applied. With these data, stand attributes were estimated in each stand before and after the silvicultural treatments. In this study, two different indices related to each of stand diversity indices such as contagion, DBH-difference, height-difference, and mingling were estimated and compared to analyze the differences of stand diversity among the stands before and after silvicultural treatments. As a result, total eight stand diversity indices were used to analyze the differences among structures of stands managed by three different silvicultural treatments. Duncan's multiple range test and t-test were then employed to statistically analyze the difference of stand diversity among the stands. The results revealed that stand structures seem to be improved after applying the silvicultural treatments. There are significant differences in the stand diversity indices between before and after silvicultural treatments for each stand. According to the evaluation of stand diversity indices, it was confirmed that spatial structure of the stands was improved by applying the silvicultural treatments.

  • The objective of this study was to estimate the changes of stand structure before and after applying the three different silvicultural treatments such as selection cutting system, two-storied system, and shelterwood system. This study has been conducted in the natural deciduous forests in Pyungchang of Gangwon Province, Korea. There are significant differences in the stand structure indices between before and after silvicultural treatments for each stand. According to the evaluation of stand structure indices, it was confirmed that spatial structure of the stands was improved by applying the silvicultural treatments. For attaining the specific goal of each stand types acquired by different silvicultural treatments, the frequencies and amounts of additional practices should be decided based on the changes of stand structure as time passed.

  • The axillary buds of 15-year-old Tilia amurensis were cultured on Saito and Ide (IS), Murashige and Skoog (MS) media and woody plant medium (WPM) to establish an effective micropropagation method. Five levels of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) were tested. On IS medium and WPM addition of 1.0/l BAP enhanced shoot development and shoot elongation, whereas addition of 0.5/l BAP was effective on MS medium. A better results were obtained from WPM with 1.0/l BAP and MS with 0.1/l BAP. Developed shoots were subcultured on each basal media but with 0.2/l BAP, Multiple shoots were almost doubled in a month. Root formation could be enhanced at higher concentration of indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). Better rooting rate (83.3%) was achieved on a half-strength MS medium with 3.0 /l IBA. Regenerated plantlets were successfully transferred to soil. To investigate the clonal variation in shoot development and shoot elongation by axillary bud culturing, seven plus tree clones were tested, Clonal variation in tissue culturability among plus trees was recognized by the Duncan's multiple range test at the 5% level. Kang Won No. 12 showed the best response on WPM with 1.0/l BAP.

Influence of Different Perspectives about Well-being Trend LOHAS on the Menu Selecting Behavior of Diners-out (웰빙 트렌드 로하스(LOHAS)에 관한 외식 소비자의 인식 차이가 메뉴 선택 행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to redefine people's attitudes about well-being trend LOHAS(Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability) by a systematic research on diners' perspectives about LOHAS and menu-selecting behavior since well-being trend has been a main interest of the media and the food service industry. Also, this study has focused on understanding customers' menu-selecting behavior through a customer interest survey and on customers' interests and verifying factors for healthy food inclination and satisfaction level to give basic information and marketing suggestions for healthful menu. SPSS 12.0 was used for the data analysis, and $x^$-test was carried to make clear the different perspectives about well-being trend LOHAS according to the general characteristics of those polled. Factor analysis was done to menu-selecting behavior. Differences between sampling menu-selecting factors and general characteristics(t-test & ANOVA) were inspected and multiple regression analysis between health inclination and satisfaction level was also conducted. According to the survey, customers' well-being menu selecting behavior showed highly in married women, relatively older people, those with higher general income and higher education. Regression analysis showed that menu-selecting behavior influenced customers' inclination toward health and satisfaction level. Therefore, the food service industry should target those groups and improve its promotional communication strategy with proper menu development and an improved concept.

달을 이용한 천리안위성 기상영상기 노화 경향 분석

  • 천리안위성은 통신, 해양, 기상 임무를 띤 우리나라 최초의 정지궤도복합위성으로 지난 2010년 6월 27일 성공적으로 발사된 후 동경 128.2도, 적도 상공 약 35,800 km 고도의 정지궤도에 안착되었다. 이 후 약 6개월 여의 궤도상시험 기간과 2개월의 안정화 기간을 거쳐 2011년 4월 1일, 기상청은 위성자료 서비스를 위한 정규운영을 시작하였다. 천리안위성의 기상탑재체인 기상영상기는 다중채널 복사계로 한반도 주변뿐만 아니라 전 지구적 기후 변화 및 대기 운동 그리고 급변하는 기상상황을 감시하기 위해 실시간 관측과 전송 시스템을 갖추고 있다. 이 기상영상기를 운용하는 기상청 국가기상위성센터 지상국에서는 자료수신 및 영상전처리시스템을 갖추고 수신된 위성신호로부터 영상 분리 후 복사보정 및 기하보정을 수행하며, 위성자료배포시스템을 통해 일정 시간 간격 내에 사용자들에게 처리 자료를 배포하고 있다. 영상 복사보정은 기상영상기 내의 각 채널별 디텍터가 감지한 지구복사휘도의 전기적 신호를 지상에서 복사휘도와 휘도온도 값으로 변환하는 작업이다. 절대검정체로서 흑체와 우주보기 값을 이용하는 적외채널과 달리, 가시채널 디텍터는 절대검정체가 탑재되어있지 않기 때문에 우주보기 값 외에 대리검정 방법을 이용한다. 이러한 가시채널 노화도 분석에 달 관측을 통한 비교 분석이 한 방법으로 제시되고 있다. 천리안위성 기상영상기의 정규운영 1년간의 가시채널 디텍터의 노화도는 6 % 이내로 측정되었고, 이는 일반적인 정지궤도위성 센서의 노화도인 6 % 내외 값 변화량에 견주어 잘 운용되고 있음을 시사한다. 본 논문에는 천리안위성 기상영상자료의 품질 및 매개변수의 변화 경향도 함께 제시하였으며, 달을 이용한 기상영상기 노화 분석과 보정에 관한 내용을 싣고 있다.

  • 지구온난화로 인한 기후변화 등으로 안전한 하천구조물을 설계하기 위해서는 신뢰할 수 있는 홍수량 산정이 필요하다. 신뢰할 수 있는 홍수량 산정을 위해서는 정도 높은 과거 수문자료가 필요하나 국내의 많은 중소 규모유역이 미계측 유역 또는 과거 수문자료 부족으로 신뢰 할 수 있는 홍수량 산정이 어려운 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 미계측 유역의 홍수량 산정을 위하여 확률분포모형(PDM)의 매개변수 지역화를 수행하였다. 매개변수 지역화 연구를 수행하기 위하여, 금강 25개 유역을 대상으로 유역별 9~18개의 단기홍수수문사상을 선정하였다. 선정된 단기홍수수문사상을 확률분포모형에 적용하기위하여, MCAT (Monte Carlo Analysis Toolbox)을 활용하여 검정 및 검증을 수행하였으며, 목적함수는 수문곡선 모든 구간을 반영하는 NSE (Nash Sutcliffe Efficiency)와 고유량 부분을 반영하는 RMSE (Root Mean Squared Error) - FH를 적용하였다. 각각의 목적함수에 대하여 검정 모형 매개변수와 유역 특성인자의 다중 선형회귀식을 강우유출모형 매개변수 지역화 모형으로 제시하였다. 매개변수 지역화 결과의 평가를 위하여 청주 유역을 미계측 유역으로 가정하였다. 청주 유역에 대하여 지역화 매개변수를 적용한 결과, 17개의 사상 중 11개의 사상에서 NSE 목적함수 값이 0.5이상으로 전체적인 수문곡선의 경향성을 보였으며, 첨두 홍수량은 17개 사상 중 11개 사상에서 관측 첨두 홍수량 값의 20%이내를 제시하여 적합한 결과를 제시하였다. 또한 금강 25개 유역에 Jackknife 방법으로 검정 결과 관측 첨두 홍수량 값 20%이내의 성능을 보이는 사상이 56%를 포함하고 있어 의미있는 지역화 모형을 제시하였다고 판단된다. 본 연구에서 제시한 매개변수 지역화 방법은 미계측 유역의 유출모의에 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Multi-objective Genetic Algorithm for Variable Selection in Linear Regression Model and Application (선형회귀모델의 변수선택을 위한 다중목적 유전 알고리즘과 응용)

  • The purpose of this study is to implement variable selection algorithm which helps construct a reliable linear regression model. If we use all candidate variables to construct a linear regression model, the significance of the model will be decreased and it will cause 'Curse of Dimensionality'. And if the number of data is less than the number of variables (dimension), we cannot construct the regression model. Due to these problems, we consider the variable selection problem as a combinatorial optimization problem, and apply GA (Genetic Algorithm) to the problem. Typical measures of estimating statistical significance are $R^2$, F-value of regression model, t-value of regression coefficients, and standard error of estimates. We design GA to solve multi-objective functions, because statistical significance of model is not to be estimated by a single measure. We perform experiments using simulation data, designed to consider various kinds of situations. As a result, it shows better performance than LARS (Least Angle Regression) which is an algorithm to solve variable selection problems. We modify algorithm to solve portfolio selection problem which construct portfolio by selecting stocks. We conclude that the algorithm is able to solve real problems.

A Comprehensive Dosimetric Analysis of Inverse Planned Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy and Multistatic Fields Technique for Left Breast Radiotherapy (좌측 유방 방사선치료를 위한 역치료계획의 세기변조방사선치료와 다중빔조사영역치료기법 사이의 포괄적 선량측정 분석)

  • Purpose: This aim of this study is to analyze the dosimetric difference between intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) using 3 or 5 beams and MSF in the radiotherapy of the left breast. Materials and Methods: We performed a comparative analysis of two radiotherapy modalities that can achieve improved dose homogeneity. First is the multistatic fields technique that simultaneously uses both major and minor irradiation fields. The other is IMRT, which employs 3 or 5 beams using a fixed multileaf collimator. We designed treatment plans for 16 early left breast cancer patients who had taken breast conservation surgery and radiotherapy, and analyzed them from a dosimetric standpoint. Results: For the mean values of $V_{95}$ and dose homogeneity index, no statistically significant difference was observed among the three therapies. Extreme hot spots receiving over 110% of the prescribed dose were not found in any of the three methods. A Tukey test performed on IMRT showed a significantly larger increase in exposure dose to the ipsilateral lung and heart than multistatic fields technique (MSF) in the low-dose area, but in the high-dose area, MSF showed a slight increase. Conclusion: In order to improve dose homogeneity, the application of MSF, which can be easily planned and applied more widely, is considered an optimal alternative to IMRT for radiotherapy of early left breast cancer.

Short-term Reactive Power Load Forecasting Using Multiple Time-Series Model (다중 시계열 모델을 이용한 단기 부하 무효전력 예측)

  • This paper shows that active and reactive power load have significant positive relationship and there exist two types of relationship between them using Test Statistics. In investigating the cross plots at every hour, we found out that from 0 to 8 hours, there relationships are linear, while from 9 to 23 hours, they are two piece-wise linear. Also, reactive power loads was estimated and forecasted using active power load as the explanary variable with OLS (Ordinary Least Squares) regression methods. MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) for each model is calculated for one-hour ahead forecasting.

  • Randomness is a basic security evaluation item for the most cryptographic algorithms. NIST has proposed a statistical test suit for random number generators for cryptographic applications in the process of AES project. However the test suit of NIST is customized to block ciphers which have the same input and output lengths. It needs to revise NIST's test suit for key derivation functions which have multiple output blocks. In this paper we propose a revised method of NIST's statistical randomness test adequate to the most key derivation functions and some experimental results for key derivation functions of 3GSM and NIST.
