A Study on the Production of Perspective Images using Drone (드론을 이용한 다시점 투영 이미지 제작 연구)

  • Holographic Stereogram can provide the depth perception without the visual fatigue and dizziness because it use multiple images acquired from the multiple viewpoints. In order to produce a holographic stereogram, it is necessary to obtain perspective images of a live object and record it on film using a digital hologram printer. when acquiring perspective images, the hologram without distortion can be produced only when the perspective images with a constant distance between the camera and the target is obtained. If the target is small, it is possible to keep the constant distance from the camera to object. but if it is large, this is difficult to keep the constant distance. In this study, we photograph the large object using the POI (Point of Interest) function which is one of the smart flight modes of drone to produce perspective images required for the hologram production. after that, problems such as the unexpected shakings and distance change between camera and object is corrected in post production. as a result, we produce the perspective images.

  • 본 논문에서는 RGB이미지와 Depth 이미지를 촬영할 수 있는 촬영 장비인 Azure Kinect를 사용해 다시점 촬영 시스템 구성을 위한 카메라 동기화 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템에는 8대의 Azure Kinect 카메라를 사용하고 있으며 각 카메라는 3.5-mm 오디오 케이블로 연결되어 외부동기화 신호를 전달한다. 그리고 이미지를 저장할 때 발생하는 메모리에서의 병목현상을 최소화하기 위해 촬영 시스템의 동작을 16개의 버퍼로 나누어 병렬 컴퓨팅으로 진행한다. 이후 동기화 여부에 따른 차리를 디바이스 타임스탬프를 기준으로 하여 비교한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 OpenGL Rendering을 이용한 모델기반 3D 다시점 영상의 객체 구현을 위한 구성과 각 모듈에 적용되는 알고리즘에 대해 중점적으로 연구하였다. 한 장의 텍스쳐 이미지와 깊이 맵(Depth Map)을 가지고 다시점 객체를 생성하기 위해, 먼저 깊이 정보의 전처리 과정을 거친다. 전처리 된 깊이 정보는 OpenGL상에서의 일정 간격의 꼭지점(Vertex) 정보로 샘플링 된다. 샘플링 된 꼭지점 정보는 깊이 정보를 z값으로 가지는 3차원 공간 좌표상의 점이다. 이 꼭지점 정보를 기반으로 텍스쳐 맵핑 (texture mapping)을 위한 폴리곤(polygon)을 구성하기 위해 딜루이니 삼각화(Delaunay Triangulations) 알고리즘이 적용되었다. 이렇게 구성된 폴리곤 위에 텍스쳐 이미지를 맵핑하여 OpenGL의 좌표 연산을 통해 시점을 자유롭게 조정할 수 있는 객체를 만들었다. 제한된 하나의 이미지와 깊이 정보만을 가지고 좀 더 넓은 범위의 시점을 가지는 다시점 객체를 생성하기 위해, 새로운 꼭지점을 생성하여 폴리곤을 확장시켜 기존보다 더 넓은 시점을 확보할 수 있었다. 또한 렌더링된 모델의 경계 영역 부분의 깊이정보 평활화를 통해 시각적인 개선을 이룰 수 있었다.

  • As 5G is getting developed, people are getting interested in immersive content. Some predicts that immersive content may be implemented in real life such as holograms, which were only possible in movies. Holograms, which has been studied for a long time since Dennis Gabor published the basic theory in 1948, are constantly developing in a new direction with digital technology. It is developing from a traditional optical hologram, which is produced by recording the interference pattern of light to a computer generated hologram (CGH) and a digital hologram printer. In order to produce a hologram using a digital hologram printer, holographic element (Hogel) image must first be created using multi-view images. There are a method of directly photographing an actual image and a method of modeling an object using 3D graphic production tool and rendering the motion of a virtual camera to acquire a series of multi-view images. In this paper, we propose a new method of getting image, which is one of the visual effect, VFX, producing multi-view images using chroma key composition. We shoot on the green screen of actual object, suggest the overall workflow of composition with 3D computer graphic(CG) and explain the role of each step. We expected that it will be helpful in researching a new method of image acquisition in the future if all or part of the proposed workflow to be applied.

  • A 2 dimensional quality function for quantifying the quality of images observed at viewing regions in contact-type multiview 3 dimensional imaging systems is devised and its effectiveness is verified experimentally. The function allows calculating the locations of viewing regions for patched images of any number of different view images. The images observed at the calculated regions reveal that different parts of the display panel of the system project different view images and match with the function's prediction.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for object generation from model-based 3-dimensional multi-viewpoint images using OpenGL rendering. In the first step, we preprocess a depth map image in order to get a three-dimensional coordinate which is sampled as a vertex information on OpenGL and has a z-value as depth information. Next, the Delaunay Triangulation algorithm is used to construct a polygon for texture-mapping using the vertex information. Finally, by mapping a texture image on the constructed polygon, we generate a viewpoint-adaptive object by calculating 3-dimensional coordinates on OpenGL.

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic displacement system for testing stability of structure. Photogrammetry is a method which can measure accurate 3D data from 2D images taken from different locations and which is suitable for analyzing and measuring the displacement of structure. This paper consists of camera calibration, feature extraction using coded target & retro-reflective circle, 3D reconstruction and analyzing accuracy. Multi-view camera which is used for measuring displacement of structure is placed with different location respectively. Camera calibration calculates trifocal tensor from corresponding points in images, from which Euclidean camera is calculated. Especially, in a step of feature extraction, we utilize sub-pixel method and pattern recognition in order to measure the accurate 3D locations.   • This study intends to acquire objective models for basic quantitative analysis of pattern and space through image-recognition technique, and verify the effectiveness of such acquired models. Many experiments showed that the recognized result can be varied depending on the different viewpoints and the analysis based on the single-viewpoint images does not provide objectivity. The experiment using multi-viewpoint image models, which was attempted as an alternative for the disadvantages, showed the recognition similar to that of the actual model. Especially, images generated at laboratory using miniature model may be useful in comparing and understanding plural number of patterns. The models that have been acquired using such images may be hard to use in acquiring images for analyzing actual building patterns or indoor space, although they may be useful in pattern analysis using miniature model. The disadvantage, however, can be supplemented with panorama VR and C. G. simulation technique. Steady researches are required on the application of visual information to the image recognition principle and the model for quantitative analysis of pattern and space in addition to the research on the construction of the model that can be used in comparing and analyzing not only form and space but also miniature models.

Design and Implementation of Multiple View Image Synthesis Scheme based on RAM Disk for Real-Time 3D Browsing System (실시간 3D 브라우징 시스템을 위한 램 디스크 기반의 다시점 영상 합성 기법의 설계 및 구현)

  • One of the main purpose of multiple-view image processing technology is support realistic 3D image to device user by using multiple viewpoint display devices and compressed data restoration devices. This paper proposes a multiple view image synthesis scheme based on RAM disk which makes possible to browse 3D images generated by applying effective composing method to real time input stereo images. The proposed scheme first converts input images to binary image. We applies edge detection algorithm such as Sobel algorithm and Prewiit algorithm to find edges used to evaluate disparities from images of 4 multi-cameras. In addition, we make use of time interval between hardware trigger and software trigger to solve the synchronization problem which has stated ambiguously in related studies. We use a unique identifier on each snapshot of images for distributed environment. With respect of performance results, the proposed scheme takes 0.67 sec in each binary array. to transfer entire images which contains left and right side with disparity information for high quality 3D image browsing. We conclude that the proposed scheme is suitable for real time 3D applications.
