  • The purpose of this paper is to compare SWECOM and Information & Communication Engineering NCS to explore how to improve current NCS. First, it would be helpful to use NCS competency unit and competency unit element as categorization criteria and then to provide levels and roles into performance criteria and KSA. Second, developing common lower level competency unit would decrease the redundancy of KSA and make it clear for users. Third, providing other kinds of skills along with technical skills such as management skill would be useful for users.

  • The quality of human resources is critical element which promote efficiency in the community management. Each country all of the world is developing national competency standards to exploit them on human resources management. In response to this trend, the field of records management need to develop competency standards and to build human resources. Although each agency is placing qualified record manager and operating archives organization. growth and development is needed on this field. Under these circumstances, examining requirement for records management competency and using them is a task of great significance on the side of strengthening specialist and normalizing archives operation. This study suggests procedures and methodology competency standards enable to be exploited in entire fields of records management including private sectors as well as public sectors. Furthermore, as for procedures of suggesting measures for developments, cases of procedures of stand designs are shown, effectively verifying for feasibility, validity, and usability of development of competency standards in the field of records management. In this process, models for competency standard and elements based on competency units in the field of records management are suggested. This study will be ultimately expected to contribute to an adoption of manpower development system and a systematic method via procedures of approving expertise of records management being recently highlighted as an issue from revision process of records management act.

  • This study analyzed the effects of SMEs' open innovation capabilities and organization capabilities to lead these innovations on corporate performance. For this purpose, an empirical analysis was conducted targeting 250 small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) employee. The empirical study results are as follows. Absorptive capability, relational capability, CEO's innovativeness, employee's innovativeness, and decision-making openness had a significant positive (+) effect on the non-financial performance of SMEs. It was analyzed that multiplicative capability did not significantly affect non-financial performance. On the other hand, absorptive capability, relational capability, CEO's innovativeness, and decision-making openness had a significant positive (+) effect on the financial performance of SMEs. It was analyzed that multiplicative capability and employee's innovativeness did not significantly affect financial performance. Decision-making openness and absorptive capability were analyzed as factors that have an most important influence on a company's financial and non-financial performance. Based on these research results, academic and practical implications were presented.

  • The present study is aimed at inquiring into the meaning of experience of action learning program for adult learners who participated in action learning program of H financial company which was carried out as a means of corporate training. The goal of study is to examine the essential factors of action learning program impacting on the increase of motivation for learning and the improvement of job-related problem-solving ability of the learners who participated in the learning as well as on the increase of motivation for learning and the improvement of job-related problem-solving ability among the components of action learning program. As for research method, 3 main questions and 15 sub-questions about motivation for learning, job-related problem-solving ability, and components of action learning were prepared for 9 learners who participated in the action learning program, and then focus group interviews (F.G.I) were conducted. The results show that action learning program increased motivation for learning by combining concentration of attention and relevance to job, and the degree of organization of learning team was a key element to improving motivation for learning. Also, through development of alternatives and planning/execution, it impacted on improving job-related problem-solving ability of participants. And the interest and support of the administrator were key elements to improving job-related problem-solving ability. In conclusion, the results show that action learning program in corporate job training activities improves motivation for learning of the participants. Therefore, in order to improve job-related problem-solving ability of the participants in job training, more focus should be put on concentration of attention and reinforcement of relevance to the job and more interest and support should be given to organization of appropriate learning teams among components of action learning program. Along with this, the administrator needs to grasp participants' awareness of problems and pay attention and give support to the participants to enhance the performance of planning/execution.

  • This study analyzed mathematical processes elaborated in the mathematics curricula of Korea, China, Japan, and the US. Ten mathematical processes were extracted: (a) learning of concepts, principles, laws, and skills; (b) problem solving; (c) reasoning; (d) communication; (e) representation; (f) connections; (g) creativity; (h) character-building; (i) self-directed learning; and (j) positive attitude toward mathematics. This study specified the meaning of such processes and their sub-domains, noticing similarities and differences among the curricula. On the basis of the results, this study includes suggestions for the development of next mathematics curriculum in Korea.

  • This study aims to examine how information processing competency as one of the mathematical competencies has been interpreted and applied in mathematics education by analyzing tasks in middle school mathematics textbooks under the 2015 revised national curriculum. Based on the sub-elements of information processing competency organized by Park et al.(2015), we analyzed 191 tasks in 30 different middle school mathematics textbooks using descriptive statistics and ANOVA. Also, we investigated the meaning of information processing competency embedded in the tasks by distinguishing the characteristics of several different types of tasks. The results from this study showed that the number of tasks related to information processing competency in mathematics textbooks was too small and there was a huge difference across the textbooks in terms of the sub-elements. Even though there were four sub-elements of information processing competency, 'the use of manipulative and technological tools' was extremely dominant in the tasks in general. Even many of them used technology and manipulatives superficially. Furthermore, any textbook did not provide tasks dealing with all the four sub-elements. Such an unbalanced and fragmented approach to information processing competency could produce biased knowledge and insufficient experiences for information processing competency. It calls for further investigation and discussion about how to improve information processing competency in school mathematics.

  • As evolution of multimedia technology brings changes to industries concerned with design, new education program is needed to cultivate designers with abilities which are adapted to changed circumstance. This paper is purposed to show guideline to set up a fundamental course for multimedia design in which students know what are new presentation modes and learn how to use them, Multimedia design call for abilities of organizing information, representing, and implementing interactivity. Among them, fundamental course considers representing information as central subject. And it also contains lessons which are relative to proceeding courses. It should have students to experience creative composition and various expressions, and study cognitive or aesthetic effects of them. All activities are based on the understanding about presentation factors and principles. Basic course's lessons are composed by two main subjects, which are essential expression and matters relative to organization and interactivity. Described in detail, lessons are divided into three phases. First phase is combining presentation factors for affective effects, second is delivering message of various knowledges and third is forming simple interaction.

  • There has been rising demand within the South Korean government and among various industries in recent years on the need for strengthening the competitiveness of the software industry, which they highlight as being a core element for national competitiveness. This strategy would require enhancing the job competency of software developers. This study's results show that computational thinking (CT), which is one of the more creative solutions to the problem, has a positive effect on the enhancement of software developers' job competency. Furthermore, the study finds that the software development tasks of simulation, algorithms and procedures, and parallelization (in that order) serve as influential elements for software developers, which differs from previous studies' findings. The South Korean government thus should emphasize education in these areas in order to enhance the nation's job competence. Because simulation, especially, has the greatest influence among these areas, there is a particular need to strengthen that area.

  • Most previous studies on programming learning effect is limited to measuring the enhancement degree of creativity and problem solving ability. This study is to find out indexes related to programming ability, other than creativity and problem solving ability by the specialty-aptitude test(SAT) in the elementary school. For this, 4th grade elementary students took LOGO programming class and the achievement test. As a result, among 4 regions of SAT, all five indexes of intellectual ability is highly related to programming ability, indicating that students with high intelligence rather than creativity have higher programming ability and that for our experiment settings the reverse of the previous result stating that programming education positively affects the development of problem solving ability and creativity does not hold.
