Multi-Channel Multi-Interface Active RFID Reader and Protocol (다중 채널 다중 인터페이스 능동형 RFID 리더 및 프로토콜)

  • The ISO 18000-7 Active RFID standard, a single channel system operating in the 433Mhz, faces technical difficulties in supporting some recently introduced application demands because of its low transmission rates and radio interference between readers. We propose a new multi-channel active RFID system operating in the 2.4Ghz. The special feature of the proposed system is that a reader makes use of multiple interfaces to improve its performance like a multi-core processor. However if only a small part of interfaces are actually used, the performance improvement would not meet the expectation. To overcome this problem, a new multi-channel multi-interface active RFID protocol, which balances communication loads among all available interfaces, is necessary. 3 protocols, named as "Aggregated", "LP-Combined", "AP-Balanced", are proposed. Through simulation, we compare them for various conditions by changing number of tags, number of interfaces, tag data size. AP-Balanced shows the best performance and its performance increases almost linearly as the number of interface increases, which meets our expectation.

  • This paper proposed a theoretic numerical modelling in control system design to analyze active suspension equipment by adopting minimum phase system theory. Recent in the field of suspension system design it is general to adopt active control scheme for stiffness and damping, and connection with other vehicle stability control equipment is also intricate, it is required for control system scheme to design more robust, higher response and precision control equipment. Transfer matrices of system with collocated sensors and actuators are symmetric. The symmetry is independent of the entities of mass, damping, or stiffness matrices, and is a non parametric nature. From this point of view, symmetric robust control system is analyzed and designed in this paper. Numerical example is shown for validity of robust control system design.

  • Active radar reflector may be less familiar, since their uses have been limited to military applications, especially the enhancement of the effective radar cross-sections of missile test range in the drone aircraft and missiles. Perhaps the most widely-blown applications of radar transponders are Identification Friend or Foe(IFF) and its civilian counterpart, secondary surveilliance radar for Air Traffic Control(ATC), and most recently, as Search And Rescue Transponder(SART) in the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System(GMDSS). Since it happens frequently accidents on the sea, the problems of the contamination more seriously considered. The conventional navigation buoy and utilities are not sufficient to maintain the safety of the sea and thus new structured concept must be considered. Therefore, this paper propose and implement the active radar reflector with a enhanced structure. The results are shown that the performance of the system is significantly improved comparing with the conventional utilities.

A fully integrated downconverter MMIC for millimeter wave applications (밀리미터파 응용을 위한 완전집적 다운컨버터 MMIC)

  • In this paper, we developed a fully integrated downconverter MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit) including Lange coupler and output active balun for millimeter wave applications. Concretely, ${\lambda}$/4 transmission line was added to Lange coupler for size reduction of RF/LO input, and mixed RF/LO signals were applied to gate of the FET of mixer. Active balun was used at output port for a coupling of out-of-phase IF output signals. According to measured results, the proposed downconverter MMIC showed good RF performances. For example, the downconverter MMIC showed an LO leakage power of -25 dBc at IF output port, and a RF-LO isolation of 18 dB. Therefore, off-chip components such as LO rejection filters were not required for a normal operation of the proposed downconverter MMIC. The proposed downconverter MMIC showed a conversion gain of 10.3 dB at RF frequency of 63 GHz. The size of the downconverter MMIC including all active and passive components was $2.2{\times}1.4mm^2$.

고품위 능동형 산화물 나노구조 성장 및 물성 평가

  • 21 세기 제 3의 산업혁명을 가져올 것으로 기대되는 나노기술(NT), 정보기술(IT), 바이오기술(BT)은 전 세계 과학자들의 마음을 사로잡고 있다. 이 가운데 나노기술은 전자산업에 응용시 그 기대효과는 우리가 상상하는 이상의 것이라 예상하고 있다. 나노기술에 특히 관심을 가지는 이유는 물질이 마이크로미터 크기로 작아져도 벌크 물질의 물리적 특성이 그대로 유지되지만, 나노미터 크기가 되면서 우리가 경험하지 못했던 새로운 물리적 특성들이 발현되기 때문이다. 그 특성에는 양자구속효과, Hall-Petch 효과, 자기효과 등이 있다. 나노기술의 구현은 양자점과 같은 영차원 나노입자, 나노와이어, 나노막대, 나노리본 등과 같은 직경이 100nm 이하의 일차원 구조의 나노물질 및 나노박막과 기타 100nm 이하의 나노구조물들이 사용된다. 현재 일차원 구조를 이용한 전자디바이스화 연구는 결정성장을 정확하게 조절하는 합성기술 합성된 일차원 나노물질의 물리적 특성을 지배하는 각종 파라미터들과 물리적 특성들과의 상관관계 정립, 나노와이어를 이용한 Bottom-up 방식에 의한 조립기술 확보를 위해 활발히 진행 중이다. 하지만 나노구조의 특성을 확인하는 형태의 연구일 뿐, 실제 디바이스화에는 여전히 많은 과제를 안고 있다. 본 연구에서는 산화아연을 기반으로 한 고품위 능동형 산화물 나노구조의 다양한 성장방법 및 물성 평가에 대해 연구하였다. 성장장비로는 MOCVD와 스퍼터링을 이용하여 대면적 균일 성장을 이룰 수 있었다. 특히 실제 광전소자에 응용요구에 알맞은 Bottom-up 방식에 의한 수직성장 기술, 길이/직경 비 향상 기술, 결정성 향상 기술, 저온성장 기술, Dimension 조절 기술 Interfacial layer 제거 기술 등을 중점적으로 연구하였다. Dimension 조절 기술로 p-Si 기판위에 성장된 나노 LED에서는 밝은 emission을 관찰하였으며, 세계에서 최초로 스퍼터링을 이용하여 4인치 웨이퍼에 대면적 수직 성장하였다. 최근에는 선택적 삼원계 씨앗층을 이용한 길이/직경 비가 매우 향상된 MgZnO 나노와이어를 Interfacial layer 없이 수직으로 성장하여 산화물 전계방출 에미터로서의 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • 1950년대 동란을 거쳐 1960년대 초반부터 시작된 경제개발계획에 의해 급격한 경제성장으로 인해 산업 인구의 대도시 집중화에 의하여 전기의 공급력 부족 현상은 지속되었다. 따라서, 이때부터 성장한 경제배전계통은 수적으로도 많고 광범위하게 산재되어 있어 인력에 의해서는 더 이상 효과적인 관리가 어렵게 되었고, 사회가 고도 정보화로 진전되면서 수용가는 한층 더 높은 공급 신뢰도와 고품질의 전력공급을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 변화에 따라 전력공급자는 전력계통에 대한 감시와 제어를 통하여 항시 안정적이고 신뢰성있는 운용을 하여야한다. 이에 따라 배전계통에 설치된 배전설비를 컴퓨터와 통신수단을 이용하여 원격지에서 감시 제어할 수 있는 배전자동화 시스템에 대한 연구가 오래 전부터 이루어져 왔으며 효과적으로 양질의 전력을 공급하고자 배전자동화 시스템(DAS)이 도입되었다. 본 연구에서는 능동적인 감시 및 제어기능을 제공하는 객체지향형 능동데이터베이스 알고리즘을 사용하여 배전계통 제어에 적용하였고 기존의 인터넷 통신망을 통한 감시 및 제어가 가능하게 하였으며 이러한 효과에 의해 배전계통이 여러개의 다른 전력회사로 분할될 경우 각기 존재하는 다른 시스템에 대하여 인터넷을 통한 연계가 가능하도록 하여 통합적인 데이터베이스를 구축하는데 용이하게 하였다.

Evaluation of the Cluster-based staged Application Service Platform (클러스터 기반의 단계화된 응용서비스 플랫폼의 평가)

  • In this paper, through the implementation of the application service, we evaluated the feasibility and availability of the staged application service platform, which is based on the sharing of the PVM cluster. Application service platform provides three managers for dividing the request processing steps into two stages, such as a request processing stage and a service providing stage. Three managers and its relation to the divided stages are as follows, service manager and load manager to distribute the request in front-end server for a request processing stage, job manager in clustered(back-end) servers for a service providing stage. The experiment shows that the staged application service platform provides more stable and scalable characteristics and better performance improvement on the dynamic load changes than the single server system. And also it shows that real application service system can be implemented easily without modification of the proposed service platform.

  • In modern radars, dynamic range requirements far severed due to high CNR(Clutter-to-Noise Ratio) environment operation scenario. ADC spurious signal restricted the required dynamic range. In this paper, receiver gain of active phased array radar dependent on ADC nonlinear characteristic was analyzed. Within limited scope of ADC SFDR which blocks required system dynamic range, ADC dynamic range reaches trade-off with ADC SNR loss. Comparing antenna stage output noise voltage to that of ADC input, receiver gain was mathematically analyzed. Finally the whole contents were explained from the application example.

  • Since the new field information of target signal is important in the development and verification of active sonar system, experimental method and simulation technique are widely used in order to analyze the detail characteristics of target scattered echoes. Therefore, in this paper, the scale target experiment is performed to develope and Improve the target signal simulation model. Since the experimental results show that the specular reflection is the major component among scattering mechanisms, the target signal simulation model based on the Geometric Optics Theory (GOT) is developed. Complex target is separated into simple shapes, known as canonical shape. The contribution from individual canonical shapes are summed with proper phase and amplitude to produce the target strength of the whole complex body. Simulated target signal is compared with the experimental results and discussed.
