Data were analyzed by regression analyses by SPSS 18.0. Results: First, preschoolers' sociability exerted positive effects on good peer play behaviors(play interaction) and negative effects on the bad peer play behaviors (disruption, disconnection) and both were partially mediated by mothers' social interaction parenting behaviors. Second, preschoolers' emotionality exerted negative effects on good peer play behaviors and positive effects on the bad peer play behaviors and both were partially mediated by mothers' social interaction parenting behaviors. Preschoolers' activity exerted positive effects on good peer play behaviors and negative effects on the bad peer play behaviors and both were partially mediated by mothers' social interaction parenting behaviors. Conclusion/Implications: These findings provide preliminary evidence that mothers' social interaction parenting behavior partially mediate the effects of preschoolers' temperament on peer play behaviors. Implications for the use of intervention targeting specific temperament have been discussed.

  • This study aimed to improve mother-child attachment relationship by goal-corrected partnership. The subjects of this study were three 5- to 6-year-old children with insecure attachment patterns and their mothers. The Mother-Child Attachment Intervention Program with Applied Sand-Play Therapy consisted of two steps, sand-play therapy for each mother and child for 8 sessions and three different intervention activities(activities for children only, mother education activities and mother-child cooperative activities) conducted for 12 sessions. Each of the therapy and the activity sessions ran for 40 and 80 minutes weekly. After completing the program, the mothers' representation of their parents changed positively, but the changes depended on their attachment classifications. All of the mothers' warm/responsive parenting behaviors increased despite some individual differences.

  • This study intends to investigate preschool-sibling's spontaneous imitation during their free-plays through the observation of 41 pairs of siblings aged from 1 to seven years. RESULTS : 1. Sibling's imitation showed in all subjects and had various distribution according to sibling's personalities. 2. Because of sibling's several facts. Their imitation showed differently. 1) Imitation appeared to decline to decline as children grew older. Imitation showed most frequently at the age of 2 years, and decreased after that. 2) Due to the effect of birth-order, the younger one showed his imitation approximately 4.3 times more than the elder one. 3) The effect of sex-composition seemed to coincide with the sex-typing hypothesis rather than the like-sex hypothesis. 4) Boy's imitation showed more frequently than girl's, but the difference was not so significant to be noticed. 3. In siblings, physical imitation was more frequent than verbal imitation, but it was reversed in peer's imitation. 4. The play-situation in which sibling's imitation showed mostly differed from that of Peer's imitation. That is, sibling's imitation appeared in solitary play but peers imitation did appear in associate play.

  • When parents and their children wear matching clothes, ranging from one item to the entire wardrobe, we call this the "family look." The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that influence family look clothes consumption. It was proposed that mothers' familism tendencies, playfulness, and demographic characteristics were the main factors that decided the extent of the purchase and usage of family look clothes. A survey was conducted between September 23 and 29, 2013 with mothers who have purchased and wore family look clothes. The age of the women ranged from 20s to 40s. The results showed that the number of family look items is influenced by mothers' familism tendencies and playfulness. Also the favorite family look style depended on the familism tendency, playfulness, and the age of the child(ren). The results of this study are expected to provide implications to apparel companies that produce family looks.
