  • This paper reviews four factors involved in apparel and textile manufacturing procedures under international economic fluctuation. This work will be helpful to evaluate the efficiency of global manufacturing systems. Production costs including direct costs related to material and labor costs, and indirect costs associated with manufacturing running ones are significantly correlated to diverse visible and invisible elements such as infrastructure and the labor skills of foreign manufacturing areas, which might create an apparent difference in production costs. Manufacturers can consider how to improve the efficiency of manufacturing systems through a review of the co-relationship between manufacturing procedures and four factors such as manufacturing systems, production outsourcing types, manufacturing locations, and production costs in detail. In addition, the four factors are the core parameters of determining or contributing to the efficiency of a production schedule that is ultimately associated with the supply chain management (SCM) to efficiently conduct Quick Response (QR).

  • An important factor in education is ensuring reliable quality of education. There are a variety of ways based on criteria to ensure the quality of education. To ensure quality management, attendance is important which is highly reliable rating at the account education of Ministry of Employment and Labor and sevice training of Health Care. In contrast, the service training of health care professionals was consisting of formal attendance management, quality of education has been raised as a problem. Recently developed USN-based attendance management system is effective. But if education is proceed at a large number of small scale in the area of education, cost, portability, systeme management, the reliability of the Trainee's attendance remained as problems to solve. To address these needs, this paper quoted low-cost attendance management system which was desighned and implemented by barcode and PC camera. As a result the actual maintenance training system showed a 98% satisfaction in terms of administrator and 95% satisfaction in terms of Trainee.

  • There are basically three approaches of surveys on the economically active population, namely Labor Force Approach (or Current Status Approach), Usual Status Approach, and Gainful Worker Approach. The selection of an approach among these approaches to be applied to a survey or population census should take into considerations the purpose and background of the survey or the census and the socio-economic situation of a country. In the Korean Population and Housing Census series which have been taken almost every five years since its first round in 1925, a sample survey on the economically active population has been adopted since the 1960 round of census. Even if the labor force approach continued to be applied to the censns prior to 1980, the approach has been different from one round to another in recent rounds. It may be suggested that the labor force approach continue to be adopted for the Korean Population and Housing Census for the following reasons: 1) the proportion of seasonal workers to the total workers is very small, 2) the proportion of population whose type of activity for a specific duration is different from that for one year is small, 3) the approach for the census should be the same as that for a variety of sample surveys on the economically active population which adopt the labor force approach, since the census functions as a population as well as a bench mark for those sample surveys, 4) an application of labor force approach will facilitate international comparisons since most of countries that conduct a population census adopt this approach, 5) the labor force approach can improve the reliability of results, thanks to its short reference period, etc.

  • This study examines the labor market performance of graduates who had student loans. Compared to earlier studies, we extended analyses to all jobs that were experienced for more than 18 months after graduation. First, we found that students who had student loans earned 2.81% less at their first job compared to their counterparts without student loans. Second, the wage gap decreased over time, a reduction of 0.66%p due to labor market turnovers. Third, when we compared cumulated labor income, however, the amount for borrowers were continuously higher. This is because the job searching period of a borrower was shorter, despite relatively lower wages at the first job, and borrowers also made more frequent job turnovers, accompanying relatively more wage increases. These results suggest that the negative effects of college loans on earnings, reported in previous studies, may have exaggerated the negative impact to some extent of having loans. However, when we look at the quality of jobs beyond simply wages, the proportion of borrowers working at large companies as regular workers was consistently low. Given that job conditions at the earlier stages of one's career may lead to gaps over time, our findings call for more systematic investigations into the effects that student loans have on long-term labor performance.

  • Center of labor power was moved from physical labor to knowledge labor on modern knowledge society comparing with past industrial age, but dramatic result is not appearing in knowledge worker's productivity. "Peter F. Drucker" called "father of modern business management" is essential factor of knowledge labor based on expert, performance, concentration, own administration official, second half of life. And studied about task, reform, autonomy, education, quality, relation of information communication that is knowledge worker's productivity determinant factor. As research result, was expose that relativity is high by performance>concentration>own administration official>expert, second half of life in essential factor of knowledge labor. Specially, all productivity determinants and effect factor were performance by result to knowledge worker. Therefore, knowledge worker can expect formation's target and performance though search and practical use of continuous information are achieved in own field.
