Analysis of Science Educational Contents of Singapore, Canada and US Focused on the Integrated Concepts (통합개념을 중심으로 한 싱가포르, 캐나다와 미국의 과학교육과정 내용 요소 분석)

  • The feasibility of integrated concepts as a key element in designing integrated science curriculum has been investigated by analysing science contents included in performance expectations stated at different grades. The science curriculum of Singapore and the state of Ontario in Canada, and next generation of science standard (NGSS) were selected. Each of them presents theme, fundamental concepts, and crosscutting concepts, which has the characteristics of integrated concepts proposed in the study. Analysis showed that theme, fundamental concepts, and crosscutting concepts were influenced by the characteristics of each curriculum. In addition, science contents related to integrated concepts at different grades varied with the nature of integrated concepts. Based on results, some suggestions were made. First, the total number of integrated concepts should be considered for designing integrated curriculum. Second, the nature of integrated concepts and science contents associated with the integrated concepts should be considered. The integrated concepts should be vast and deep enough in the meaning to contain various content knowledge of different science domains. Third, it should be considered that how the integrated concepts have to be presented at different grades.

Analysis of STS Contents in Chemistry Chapters of Middle School Science Textbooks and Chemistry Teachers’ Perception Investigation of STS Education (제7차 교육과정에 의한 중학교 과학 교과서 화학 단원의 STS 교육 내용 분석과 화학 교사들의 STS 교육에 대한 인식 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the STS (science-technology-society) contents in chemistry chapters of middle school science textbooks standardized by 7th national curriculum, and to investigate chemistry teachers' perception of STS education. This study was based on 8 essential elements in STS education suggested by Yager and 9 activities in SATIS (science and technology in society). The questionnaire and interview were used to investigate chemistry teachers' perception. As a result of this study, the average value of the STS contents in chemistry chapters of 7 kinds of middle school science textbooks was 22.4%, and the STS contents were preponderated to essential elements of science application and local and community relevance. And STS contents showed that science 2 textbooks were the most of all and in order of science 1 textbooks and science 3 textbooks. As a result of analysis by activities in SATIS, most activities were practice activity, problem-solving and decision making, and structured discussion. Chemistry teachers' perceptions of STS education were following. There were many responses that STS education was necessary for educational efficiency. On the other hand STS education was unnecessary because there were few effective teaching-learning method related with STS education. From these results, middle school science textbooks have to be complemented because 2 essential elements of the STS contents were preponderated in the science textbooks. And the teaching-learning method connected with STS education will have to be developed for the efficiency of STS education.

Designing Content Elements of the Programming Curriculum as a Instrumental Subject for Gifted Science High School (과학영재 고등학교 도구교과로서의 프로그래밍 교육과정 내용요소 설계)

  • In this study, contents of programming curriculum were designed as instrumental subjects for scientifically gifted students, not for IT gifted ones. Firstly, the programming curriculum consisted of 3 sections; Programming Understanding, Object-Oriented Programming, and Simulation Programming as a result of two semesters. Then, the lectures including project-based and problem-solving tasks were given to scientifically gifted students in a high school during one semester to verify whether they could apply the contents to studies and researches in math or science or not. As a result of this study, the students could improve numerical analysis and simulation program development capabilities in math or science as well as the problem-solving ability based on computational thinking. Moreover, it was proved that the students changed their perception about programing learning. They started to think that programing learning was necessary to studies and researches in math or science. The results of this study propose guideline to design programming curriculum as instrumental subjects for scientifically gifted students.

  • In this study, 'data collection', 'data expression', 'data analysis, and 'optimization and decision-making' were selected as the core AI concepts to be dealt with in the mathematics for AI education. Based on this, the degree of reflection of AI core concepts was investigated and analyzed compared to the mathematical core concepts and content of each area of the elective course. In addition, the appropriateness of the content of was examined with a focus on core concepts and related learning contents. The results provided some suggestions for answering the following four critical questions. First, How to set the learning path for ? Second, is it necessary to discuss the redefinition of the nature of ? Third, is it appropriate to select core concepts and terms for ?   • The role of an archivist should include not only traditional archives management but also new archives management based on an understanding of electronic records and information technology. In this study, to verify the adequacy and content validity of the components, knowledge categories, and knowledge contents of the guideline for a graduate program in archival studies, the Delphi survey was carried out. As a result of the Delphi survey, the components of the guideline consisted of "preface," "curriculum," "faculty," "structure of the learning process," "administrative resources," and "conclusions," and the educational content consisted of 8 knowledge categories and 44 knowledge contents. This study aims to present the minimum components to be followed in the graduate program of archival science through the development of the guideline model and present educational contents to educate archivists with theoretical and practical capabilities. The model can be used as basic data for a future guideline for a graduate program in archival studies.

  • 웹 어플리케이션은 생명 주기가 짧고, 마르고 정확한 개발이 요구되므로 모델링 단계에서의 요소 분류 및 요소간의 제약조건을 정의할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 각 프레임과 페이지를 그 성격에 따라 집합 프레임과 구조 프레임, 내용 페이지와 구조 정보 페이지로 분류, 이를 바탕으로 요소간의 관계를 정의하였다. 웹 응용 모델링의 요소 분류를 통해 그에 따른 제약 조건을 서술할 수 있는데, 이를 통해 사소한 예측할 수 있는 오류를 피할 수 있고, 웹 응용의 기본적인 테스트 케이스로도 사용할 수 있다.

  • In this study, arrangement and description of documentary photographic records about photographer, Choi Min-Sik have been reviewed. Throughout the literature review, arrangement and description of photographic records are analyzed. The results show that the universal classification plan of administrative records is difficult to apply to photographic records. This study suggests the case of arrangement and description of photographic records a photographer produces continually.

고등학교 수학 교실수업의 내용 분석

  • 본 연구는 고등학교 수학 교과의 6차시 분의 교실 수업을 비디오로 녹화하여 TIMSS 비디오 연구에서 사용한 코드와 현재 고등학교에서 수업 장학을 위하여 가장 많이 사용하는 점수형 수업참관록으로 분석하였다. TIMSS 비디오 연구의 코드를 활용하여 분석한 결과 교실 수업의 다양한 상황과 수업 내용을 자세하고 객관적인 결과를 얻을 수 있으나 1/3정도의 코드는 거의 사용되지 않는 문제점을 보여주어서 우리 나라 고등학교 수학 수업 분석을 위해서는 TIMSS 연구에서 사용한 코드의 수를 줄여서 고등학교 수학 교실 분석에 사용하는 것이 유용할 것 같다. 수업참관록의 요소를 사용한 분석 결과는 단순하고 개괄적이어서 수업 내용을 정확하게 분석하기는 어렵고 단지 수업 평가 정도의 의미를 지닌다. 따라서 수업참관록에 분석 요소를 추가시킴으로서 보다 의미있고 객관적인 수업 장학을 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • 현재 사용하는 순차적인 뉴스 비디오 검색 방법은 많은 시간을 소비한다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 , 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 뉴스 비디오를 내용(뉴스 사건)단위별로 검색할수 있는 자동 인덱스 모듈과 원격 검색 브라우저 모듈을 제시한다. 인덱싱 모듈은 기본적으로 이미지 프로세싱을 기반으로 하여 뉴스 앵커를 검출하고 뉴스 아이템을 분할한다. 인덱싱 구성요소는 뉴스 비디오 내용에 대한 대표영상(뉴스아이콘)과 부가적인 정보를 포함하는 뉴스 자막으로 구성하였다. 검색 브라우저 모듈은 추출된 인덱싱 요소를 아이콘하여 뉴스사건 단위로 내용을 검색할수 있도록 설계하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 매일 발생되는 뉴스를 자동 인덱싱하여 사용자에게 뉴스서비스의 효율적인 적용이 기대된다.

Comparison of Components of Self-directed Learning Discribed in the Students' Evaluation of Explicit Instruction and Implicit Instruction Regarding Self-directed Learning (자기주도학습의 명시적 수업과 암묵적 수업에 대한 과학영재중학생의 평가에서 관찰되는 자기주도학습 요소 비교)

  • Science gifted students enrolled in a program, where classes had either explicit or implicit instruction about self-directed learning, were asked to write what was satisfying after each class. This process was part of the evaluation of the program. Students' descriptions related to self-directed learning are compared in these two classes, one with explicit instruction and the other with implicit instruction. First, most of the components related to self-directed learning, which were reported in the previous research articles, were mentioned in students evaluation. If there was any specific description regarding what was satisfying, there were components of self-directed learning. Students descriptions were consistent with list of self-directed learning components, which was constructed based on the previous research. Therefore it may be concluded that students recognized most of the reported self-directed learning components and satisfied with them. Second, There were differences in the evaluation of two types of classes. The evaluation of class with explicit instruction contained more self-directed learning components more frequently. For example, students worked in small groups in both classes. However more students mentioned small groups in classes with explicit instruction. As a result the explicit instruction appears to be more effective for students to recognize the self-directed learning components. However some of the components mentioned in classes with implicit instruction were not mentioned in the classes with explicit instruction. Therefore classes with explicit and implicit instructions are complimentary with each other and both instructions are necessary.
