Image-Based Relighting of Moving Objects with Considering Specular Reflectance (전반사 성분을 고려한 움직이는 물체의 영상 기반 재조명)

  • 각각 다른 영상에서 추출된 배경이나 물체를 합성하고자 할 때 조명 조건의 이질감 때문에 자연스럽지 못한 영상이 얻어질 수 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 특히 전반사 성분의 위치와 모양이 사실적으로 처리되는 것이 중요하다. 기존의 많은 연구에서 정지된 물체에 대해 전반사 성분과 난반사 성분을 분리하여 다루는 방법이 제안되었는데 이러한 방법들을 토대로 본 논문에서는 동영상에 대한 적용 가능성을 확인한다. 정지한 물체에 대한 재조명을 위해서는 물체의 위치가 동일하고 조명 조건이 다른 두개이상의 이미지가 필요하므로 동영상의 연속된 필드들을 이용하여 이러한 조건을 유사하게 만족시키는 이미지 쌍을 만드는 방법을 먼저 제안한다. n번째 n+2번째 필드 간의 물체의 움직임을 추정하여 중간 위치의 합성 영상을 만들어 내면 n+1번째 필드의 물체와 동일한 위치와 모양의 영상을 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 이렇게 얻어진 합성 영상과 원래의 n+1번째 필드의 영상이 서로 다른 조명 조건을 가지고 있으면 정지된 물체에 행해졌던 영상 재조명 방법의 사용이 가능하며, 이 두 영상으로 전반사 성분과 난반사 성분을 분리하고 난반사 성분끼리의 선형 보간과, 전반사 성분끼리의 모핑(morphing) 과정을 통해 재조명된 영상을 생성한다. 이러한 과정을 거쳐 얻어진 결과 영상과 같은 조건의 정지 영상을 직접 재조명한 결과 영상을 비교하여 그 성능이 거의 차이가 없음을 확인할 수 있다.

  • My artwork, '1000 years', in the form of an animation film has been exhibited in the '2011 Haein Art project' of a special exhibition at the Haeinsa monastery compound. The '1000 years' represents the marvels of sacredness and Buddhist symbols using the surrealist expression of computer animation. This paper would argue how Buddhist idea can be explored by the surrealist expression of 3D computer animation. In the light of this, animation and surrealist expression will be reviewed by the epistemological approach and based on this, I would attempt to reveal how this computer animation film represents the meaning of Buddhist symbols which exist in the monastery compound. This research is processed by the case study related to my artwork as the form of art practice based research.

  • As Fashion becomes more important in the field of fashion styling and fashion stylists' roles, there has been a strong demand for more unique and stylish fashion. Under these circumstances, the fashion stylist has upgraded the fashion industry as an expert in various fields. The fashion stylist's roles include creation of a fashion image depending on circumstances, improvement of contributionsto product awareness and advertisements by inspiring curiosity and interest from customers and promotion of purchase behaviors. In addition, the fashion stylist should be able to create appropriate attire and hairdos for models in fashion magazines depending on the theme and concept of the fashion and have keen insight, fashion sense and appropriate analyzing and planning skills to follow current trends. This study has investigatedthe field of fashion styling, which has emerged recently and fashion stylists' roles. It appears that fashion styling could develop into a high-growth, high value-added industry as a professional occupation that helps customers have an appropriate fashion sense.

  • Xiao Quan is a leading documentary portrait photographer in China. He tried to shoot portrait photographs of celebrities in the literary and artistic world. By doing this, he represented their time period. We explored the way Xiao Quan implemented the times they lived in by analyzing their portrait photographs included in . Our research showed that Xiao Quan used images of their living environments, clothes and facial expressions and composition of portraits. Such various methods of creation are a means for the symbolic expressions of their times. This research not only finds the way Chinese documentary portraits are created but also provides an opportunity to increase the value of documentary portraits as historic documents.

A Study on the Character Type and Image-telling in Drama (<미스터 션샤인>의 인물유형과 이미지텔링)

  • This paper analyzes the types of characters in the drama by applying Gremas's Actantial model and Enneagram's character typology and examines how they are shaped. As the Korean Wave is important, it is necessary to study the type of characters and how to describe them. Character is the most important factor in the influence of drama. As a result of applying to the Actantial model, and the following results were obtained. The main subjects are Yu-jin Choi and Ko Ae-sin, the Helpers are many people helping the subject, the opponent is the pro-Japanese figures, the Sender is Gojong, and the recivers are the people of Joseon. Analysis results by personality type of Enneagram, it was found that the subjects are 3 and 5 type, the Helpers are various types, the opponent is 3 type, the Sender is 5 type, and the receivers all types. In the method of describing the subject, internal description (direct description) is used, and the other is only formed by indirect description. Some of the Helpers and the Sender are used an image-telling method to show the inside. However, the opponent is image-telling only to show indirectly. As a result, it was possible to confirm the differences and effects on the method of image-telling by character type.

  • This paper examines the expression of hand appeared in animation. The hand changed its role from the status of the traditional representation to the enlarged meaning; the hand image has shown the individual consciousness and the social reality that has been reflected to our society. On the basis of clarify these concern, the hand appeared in animation gives a new communication and another way to express reality. Futhermore, the hand is no longer an image with realistic representation which generated a form of the consciousness of human being based on the reflection of its own self-identify through the exaggeration and transformation. This means that the hand as a whole is represented by naming one of its parts or vice versa. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper to study the effect and signification process which a synecdoche creates on the work of animation. In conclusion, the expression of hand as new interpretation appeared in animation adapts itself to changing the perspective on animation.

Gender Identity Revealed in the Movie Laurence Anyways -Focusing on the Expression of Laurence's Fashion Images- (영화 <로렌스 애니웨이> 에 나타난 젠더 정체성 -로렌스의 패션 이미지를 중심으로-)

  • This research aims to analyse gender identity and its internal meanings through the main character, Laurence, of the movie (2012) directed by French-Canadian film maker Xavier Dolan. Study examines performative gender identity revealed through the fashion images of Laurence who was born biologically as a man; depending on a theory of Judith Butler who represented a parody, repeatability action, and incorporation as an effect of gender identity. Also 'Internalization of others' and 'Dis-identification' are presented as an internal meanings of Laurence's gender identity which appeared on his(her) fashion images. Laurence parodies woman's fashion styles in repetition to obtain feminity as his(her) appearance. His(her) repetitive actions are construing an internalizing others(women) and visualizing a new-self to become a stylized doer. Dis-identification signifies that gender can be reconstructed regarding the differences of the place and the time and reconstructed outside can be analyzed as externalization of internalization. 'Becoming a woman' means more than what it sounds like to Laurence. It means a new signification of being a woman or redefining gender identity. That is something can be called a genuine transformation and a grant leap for Laurence.

  • This is a study about the arts as political tools by absolute royal authority in time of Louis X IV through the movie Le Roi danse(2000). The King, Louis X IV was an enthusiast of Arts. During the during the reign of Louis X IV, French Baroque art was blossomed exuberantly. the movie shows how the King uses the arts as a tool of his absolute authority. there are artists, Jean Baptiste Lully and Moliere, and while the movies shows how these artists could get the King's confidence and the king manipulate the arts for strengthen his authority as an absolute royalty.

  • This study examines the strategy of delivering the drama's poet Kim Soo-young and his literary works to the public through the drama (2004). This drama shows Kim's inner self and his literary view by inserting poems into scenes where the poet suffers internal conflict, while presenting relatively less well-known poems to broaden the public's understanding of poetry. In addition, the drama maintains viewers' interest by properly placing elements of conflict, and effectively shows how the conflict affected his life and the world of time. Therefore, the drama is a meaningful text that embodies a poet named Kim Soo-young in three dimensions along with the historical transformation and social problems of the time and the literary chapter of the time through the video.

  • Dir. Kim, Giduk's first work is (1996) which was created a new character and episode which disregard the main trand movie. His emotion in his film is over the reallife and common sense. His emotion is attached to the primitive feeling. He is called the tererist of Korean film culture. This thesis studys on the allegory of kim, Giduk's film world by Kim, Sunam's 'Korean auterism' which discusses dir.'s film work on the base of the background of filmmaker and his view of life. And also to represent film image he used space, water, color, repeated same meaning oposition by the usual image of rhetoric.
