Experimental investigation on an X-band Traveling-Wave-Tube Amplifier (X-밴드 진행파관 증폭기 설계 및 제작)

  • X-band(8-12㎓)에서 50W의 고출력을 내는 진행파관 증폭기를 설계하고 제작하여 측정하였다. 본 연구에서는 전자빔과 전자파가 상호작용을 일으키는 Interaction Circuit을 나선형구조로 구성하였고 저속파구조의 분산특성을 얻기 위해 Sheath helix 모델링 이론을 적용하였고 HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulator) Code를 사용해 분산특성을 얻었으며 이를 바탕으로 제작하여 측정하였다. 또한 2D-MAGIC Code를 통해 전파 빔과 전자파와의 상호작용관계와 증폭기의 성능을 예측하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 포화입력전력 100 mW를 넣었을 때 10㎓에서 43W의 출력전력과 26㏈의 이득을 얻을 수 있었으며 측정을 통해 입력전력 30mw일 때 8W의 출력, 24㏈의 이득을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • The aim of this study is to compare mathematics curriculum among the United States, Singapore, England, Japan, Australia and Korea and offer suggestions to improve mathematics curriculum of Korea in the future. In order to attain these purposes, the analysis was conducted in many aspects including mathematics education system, mathematics courses, mathematics contents, assessment syllabus for university entrance examination and the construction principles of mathematics curriculum. In the light of the results of this study, our suggestions for improving mathematics curriculum of Korea are as follows: revising the contents of analysis, geometry, probability and statistics strands; organizing curriculum based on spiral construction principle; providing various opportunities to select mathematics courses according to students'career; reflecting the contents of their courses in university entrance examination.

  • 그 동안 웹 프로그램 언어인 HTML에 대한 교수-학습 방안과 온라인 학습에 대한 연구들이 이루어져 왔지만 단순 태그 기능 학습에 그쳐 고급사고력을 높이는 프로그래밍학습의 목표를 달성하기는 부족하였다. 본 논문에서는 학습자의 창의력과 문제해결력을 높여주기 위한 HTML 교수-학습 지원 시스템을 설계하였다. HTML 교수-학습 지원시스템은 구성주의 교육 방법인 문제중심학습(Problem-Based Learning)을 이론적 토대의 하여 설계되었으며 나선형 교육과정의 원리에 따라 이원화된 학습요소들에 의해 학습의 위계를 실정하였다. 이 교수-학습지원시스템에서 HTML 학습에 대한 평가는 구성주의 원리에 입각하여 다양한 방식을 통해 지속적으로 이루어지도록 하였다. 또한 교수-학습에 활용되는 해결 과제는 같은 수준, 같은 영역의 문제은행을 축적하여 교수자가 자유롭게 상황에 맞게 선택하여 활용하도록 하였으며, 학습자의 학습 곁과를 통계자료와 도표를 통해 한눈에 살펴보고 적절한 피드백을 주도록 설계하였다. 이와 같은 원리를 토대로 한 교수-학습지원시스템 설계를 통해 학습자가 보다 많은 프로그래밍 경험을 축적하여 창의적이고 자기주도적으로 웹 프로그래밍을 할 수 있는 능력을 키워줄 수 있음을 기대하였다.

Development of a teaching-learning model for effective algorithm education (효과적인 알고리즘 교육을 위한 교수-학습 모형 개발)

  • The importance of algorithm education has been emphasized for creative problem-solving capability. Especially, algorithm teaching materials related with mathematics and science are under development to enhance logical thinking. However, there are not enough teaching-learning models applicable in the field of education. Therefore, this paper proposed a teaching-learning model for effective algorithm education. The teaching-learning model reflects two characteristics : an algorithm learning process is spiral, and algorithm education is based on logical thinking. Furthermore, a survey was conducted for students' satisfaction, and the result was a mixed teaching-learning model with PBL, SDL, and peer tutoring. Based on the proposed model, examples of classes for mathematics and science are suggested to show the feasibility of effective algorithm education.

  • Wire-woven Bulk Kagome (WBK) is fabricated by assembling helically formed wires in six directions. To date, WBK samples have been assembled manually. For industrial application, the assembly process must be automated. Furthermore, if WBK is to be fabricated using flexible wires that cannot maintain their helical shape during fabrication, a specialized automatic machine, i.e., a loom needs to be developed. In this work, we designed and constructed a loom for fabricating WBKs using flexible wires. This loom is operated by one rotation of the upper plate, two translations of the insertion device, and insertion of wires. So-called "comb devices" are placed between multiple layers of Kagome nets to prevent the wires that are already in place from getting entangled with those that are being inserted. This loom can be also used to fabricate semi-WBKs composed of helically formed wires and rigid straight wires.

Experimental Research of Characteristic of Pool Boiling Heat Transfer of Saturated Liquid Nitrogen with Helical Coil Type Heat Exchanger (나선형 튜브 열교환 방식의 포화 상태 액체질소의 비등열전달 특성에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Obtaining external forced convection heat transfer from bubble boiling and validating it with experimental results using cryogenic liquids are suggested to derive total heat transfer coefficient with pool boiling condition in the case of coil type heat exchanger with a bundle of tubes and to overcome the limitation of using the empirical correlation. Experiment is conducted with pool boiling heat transfer of saturate liquid nitrogen with helical coil type heat exchanger using liquid oxygen as hot stream fluid. Experimentally measured heat transfer coefficient is well-agreed with the estimated curve considering nucleate boiling and forced convection induced by bubble rise.

A study on the characteristics of the structure of mathematics textbooks of North Korean secondary school (북한 고등중학교 수학 교과서 구성 방식의 변화 고찰)

  • This study attempts to identify the characteristics of the structure of mathematics textbooks of North Korean high schools. The previous researches on the mathematics textbooks of North Korea show that North Korean mathematics textbooks have a linear structure, which is different from a spiral structure of South Korean textbooks. However, this study found that the textbooks of North Korea published after 1994 indicate that some sections reveal a spiral structure. In addition, most sections of North Korean mathematics textbooks are collectively composed, particularly so in the section of algebra.

Analysis and Evaluation of the Earth Science Content Relevance in the 7th National Science Curriculum (제7차 과학과 교육과정 지구과학 내용의 적정성 분석 및 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the Earth science content relevance of the 7th national science curriculum. For this purpose, we (1) analyzed science curriculum or content standards of Korea, California, England and Japan, (2) compared science textbooks of Korea and Japan, (3) conducted a nationwide survey to gather opinions from students, teachers, professors and textbook authors about the relevance of the science curriculum and textbooks. According to the results, the Earth science contents of the 7th national science curriculum were not appropriate in terms of the objectives of science curriculum and the needs of students and society. The main reasons include the equal division among physics, chemistry, biology and earth science, iack of connection due to fractionation of units, overly strict application of spiral curriculum, and redundant amount of activities and concepts to cover in the textbook. Major suggestions fir securing the relevance of Earth science contents are as follows: First, the science contents and the size of units at each grade level should be determined according to the students' characteristics, not by equal portion rule. Second, the excessive overlapping and repetition of contents due to the spiral curriculum should be avoided. In addition, the number of activities should be reduced and the quality of required science activities should be improved. Third, to raise students' interest in Earth science, real-life applications and real-world Earth science contents should be emphasized including natural disasters, safety, universe and space exploration, and natural resources. Lastly, considering one of the relevance criteria is feasibility, supports for schools and science teachers are needed to realize the goal of the intended science curriculum.

Design of a Concave Type EMAT Operated by Shock Electric Current without Static Magnetic Fluxes (충격전류를 이용한 비정자장의 집중형 EMAT의 제작과 그 특성에 관한 연구 (Folded Copper Plate EMAT를 중심으로))

  • 이 논문은 접은 도체박판의 단순한 구조가 전자유도형 변환기 역할을 한다는 것을 기술하고 있다. Endoh 등은 볼록한 나선코일과 동박판으로 구성된 볼록한 방사면 모양을 한 전자유도형 변환기가 시간적으로 짧은 충격파를 발생할 수 있기 때문에 뚜렷한 초음파 영상을 얻을 목적으로 Eisenmenger에 이어 전자유도형 EMAT를 보고한 바 있다. 여기서는 코일이 없는 EMAT를 소개한다. 이것은 두께 0.05mm, 폭 5cm 길이 임의의 동박판으로 구성되며 동박판은 절연도료를 칠한 종이로 절연되고 접어서 견고하게 밀착시키며, 여러번 접는 경우는 손부채처럼 접는 방향은 교대로 반대방향으로 접는다. 그리고는 엷은 고무판을 표면에 밀착시키고 연변을 실리콘 충전제등으로 고정시키거나, polyester molding을 하여 표면을 concave형으로 하여 완성하였다. 완성된 EMAT들은 수조에서 축전기방전방식으로 실험을 하였으나 EMAT에서 발생되는 으파의 진폭은 접는 회수에 비례하였으녀, 단접형 EMAT보다 다접형 EMAT의 발생음파가 보다 강력하였다. Concave형 EMAT의 음속은 예견한 바와 같이 잘 집속되었다. 그러나 평판형의 경우는 지향성은 100도로서 넓은 지향각을 나타내었다. 2μF, 600Volt의 축전기 방전에 의한 집속형 concave EMAT를 여기시키기 위한 축전기의 용량이 작을수록 대역폭은 더욱 넓었다.

Tenon Reinforcement Technique on Tradition Wooden Structures Using Spiral Hardware (나선형 철물을 사용한 전통 목구조의 장부 보강기법)

  • The failure of tenon in a traditional wood-framed structure may collapse of the entire structure. This study evaluates the strength and stiffness of tenon joints between the beams and pillars through experimental study and suggests reinforcing method of the tenon joint without dismantling the main structures. The main experimental parameters are the number, distance, shape, and inserting depth of spiral-shaped reinforcing steels. As the thickness of the tenon in beams increases, the strength and the initial shear stiffness of the joint increases and, however, the tenons in pillar becomes weaker, resulting in the safety problem of the structure. It is recommended that three spiral-shaped reinforcing steels be placed in the central parts of the tenon to effectively improve the strength and the shear stiffness of the joint.
