Community noise has been serious social issues in Korea. This paper reviews current statistics and status on railway noise, with practical engineering tools in order to reduce the noise level from railway traffic noise sources. At the beginning, guidelines of the current environmental policy are discussed, with the new policy on railway noise to be enforced beginning in 2007 with 5 year schedule. Then, a noise reducer is proposed as a tool to reduce noise levels protecting people living near at the railway. Details on the acoustic effect in field test are discussed with the result of implementation in the street. We propose noise reducers as an effective and practical tool for the people who are exposed to rail traffic noise in cities.

Since the apartment was built in 1961, the amount of its supply has been increased greatly, especially from the late 70's. The ratio of apartment housing to detached housing was already over 65% in 2000, and now the apartment becomes the most general type in domestic dwellings. But from 90's, the residents of apartment housing have been dissatisfied with the indoor noises and have issued civic petitions. Some national assemblymen front new towns where a high rise apartment is common are interested in This problem, and promise that they try to solve it. The government has also enacted the related regulations. This paper presents the present state and action plans of indoor noise in dwellings. Details on these will be demonstrated at the presentation.

A set of design factors that should be considered during rail transit system development in proposed. As the current trend in the rail transit development emphasizes its role as a medium through which the interaction between the city environment and people takes place, the factors of harmony, color, characteristics, identity, and communication should be considered in the railway design. It's important to ensure that there exist harmony between the design and the civic environment, the influence of color on people is properly considered, the car design possesses distinct characteristics, and that the sense of common identity as well as effective communication is fostered between the system and people it serves. Several cases from various countries are presented to illustrate the points raised in the paper.

평가위원추천시스템은 평가대상과제와 전문가간의 과제일치도와 평가위원의 공정성 및 전문성을 고려하여 평가대상과제에 대한 평가위원후보를 선정하기 위해 개발된 시스템이다. 본 시스템 개발 및 활용을 통해 평가 전문기관으로서의 위상 및 신뢰성을 강화하였고, 자동화된 업무 프로세스를 진행할 수 있어 평가관리 업무의 효율성이 획기적으로 향상되었다.

Diffy is a simple mathematical puzzle that provides elementary-school students with subtraction practice. The idea appears to have originated in the late nineteenth century with E. Ducci of Itali. Thirty years ago Professor J. Copley of the University of Houston introduced the diffy game to teachers in elementary schools and it widely spreaded out. During the diffy activity we naturally guess many interesting conjectures. First, does diffy always end? Second, does the head of diffy always exist? Third, for an arbitrary given natural number n, is there any possible method to find the diffy with the given length n? In this study I give the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the head of diffy. Using this condition I classify all possible heads of diffy and provide an algorithm to find the diffy with any given length n. With this algorithm I find four natural numbers with diffy length 200. To ensure my numbers are correct, I make a diffy program for Mathematica and check they are correct. I suggest the diffy game is good for enlarging the mathematical thinking to all graded students, especially gifted and talented students, It will produce rational consideration and synthetic judgement.

$SnO_2$ nanoparticles were synthesized by flame spray pyrolysis, which were directly deposited on Pt interdigitated substrates. Gas sensing performance was evaluated for various gases such as $H_2$, CO, $H_2S$, and $NH_3$, and it was compared with that of commercial $SnO_2$ nanopowder. The synthesis of $SnO_2$ nanoparticles was also conducted in various solvents. As a result, the primary particle size was changed with the solvent of precursor solution, and their $H_2$ sensing properties were significantly affected.

본 연구는 자기조절학습능력의 관점에서 중학생들의 수학 보조학습 선택, 유지, 변경 과정과 그 효과를 분석하여 학생들이 합리적인 공부 방법을 선택하도록 돕는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 학생들의 보조학습 선택, 유지, 변경 과정과 수업참여 적극성, 보조학습 성과로서 인지적, 정의적 영역의 변화를 정성적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 자기조절학습능력이 높은 학생들은 자기조절학습능력이 낮은 학생들에 비해 첫째, 본인의 학습 과정과 보조학습이 자신에게 미치는 영향에 대해 구체적으로 판단하고 합리적 근거로 보조학습을 선택, 유지, 변경하였다. 둘째, 수업참여 적극성이 높고 내재적 동기에 의한 적극적 행동이 많았다. 셋째, 보조학습이 자신의 수학학습에 미친 영향을 구체적으로 느끼고 본인의 공부 방법에 확신이 있어 수학적 흥미와 자신감이 향상되었다고 느꼈다.

본 연구는 새터민 청소년들의 수학학습 적응 실태를 파악하고 수학학습 적응에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석함으로써 수학학습 적응력 신장을 위한 개선방향을 찾으려는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 새터민 대안학교에 재학 중인 새터민 학생 43명을 대상으로 12개월 동안의 참여관찰과 수학학습 적응에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 새터민 청소년들은 탈북 과정 중에서 제대로 제도화된 교육과정을 받지 못함에 따라 기초 수리능력의 부족과 낮은 학력수준으로 인한 인지적 요인뿐 아니라 수학교과에 대한 자아개념, 수학교과에 대한 학습 습관, 수학불안, 수학교과 인식 등의 정의적 영역, 그리고 수업 변인 등 환경적 영역의 요인들이 수학학습 적응에 있어서 다각적으로 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다.

학교 현장에서 독서 교육이 강조되면서 수학효과에서도 독서 자료를 활용한 수업 연구가 많이 이루어져 왔다. 하지만, 대부분의 연구가 학생 개개인의 흥미, 적성, 관심 그리고 수준에 맞는 도서를 선정하기 보다는 일률적으로 단원과 관련된 읽을 거리를 제공하는데 그쳐왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 수학에 흥미를 가질 수 있게 하는 보조 학습 자료로서 수학과 관련된 독서 자료를 활용하여 수준별 학생들이 어떤 차이점들을 가지고 있는지 분석하여, 독서 자료가 수준별 학생들의 수학 학습에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 독서 자료와 활동지를 학생들에게 적용시켜본 결과, 학생들의 수준에 맞는 수학 관련 독서 자료는 학생들의 수학에 대한 태도를 긍정적으로 변화시키고, 수학적 개념을 좀 더 깊이 있게 이해하고 활용할 수 있는 능력을 기를 수 있게 하여, 결과적으로 사회에서 필요로 하는 논리적이고 합리적인 사고력을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 기대되어진다.

수학 과목은 위계성이 강하기 때문에 조금씩 생긴 수학에 대한 결손은 학년이 올라갈수록 더욱 깊어지고 심화된다. 이에 수학학습 부진학생들은 수학 수업이 더 어렵게 느껴지고 흥미 는 떨어지고 있다. 교육과정도 학습자 위주의 교육을 지향하고 있지만 아직은 교사중심으로 수학수업이 이루어지며 학생과 교사 사이에 서로의 의견을 주고받을 방법이 특별히 없는 것 이 현실이다. 따라서 본 연구는 수학학습 부진 학생들의 수학적 태도를 변화시키고 수학성취 도 향상을 꾀하기 위한 방안으로써 수학일지 쓰기를 택하였다. 중학교 1학년 학생들 중 수학 성취도가 40% 미만인 학생들을 대상으로 6주간의 수학일지를 쓰기를 실시한 후 수학일지에 대한 반응, 수학성취도에 미친 영향을 분석해 보았다. 그 결과로 수학일지 쓰기가 학생들에 게 능동적이고 능률적인 학습태도와 수학에 대한 자신감을 갖게 함으로써 수학 성취도에 향상을 가져줌을 알 수 있었다.
