Cooperative communications (CC) have received a great deal of attention recently as an efficient way to obtain the spatial diversity without physical arrays. Thus, space-time block codes (STBC) which are well-known for use in co-located multi-antenna systems can be still utilized for single-antenna users in a distributed fashion. In this paper, we propose a cooperative signaling structure using the $\frac{3}{4}$-rate STBC and derive closed-form BER expression which takes the effect of network geometry and transmit power constraint into account. A variety of simulated and numerical results demonstrated the cooperation considerably outperforms the direct transmission when partners are located in appropriate positions.
A new digital change detection algorithm, Euclidean Distance Analysis, was developed in an attempt to utilize the multi-band information in a selected band-comination, as an alternative to the conventional single-band analysis methods. To evaluate the relative performance of this new method, image differencing was applied. The better performance in change detection between the two algorithms investigated was provided by the Euclidean distance analysis. The new technique of Euclidean distance analysis holds promise for change detection, since it summarizes the multiple-band information on the cover-type changes and reduces the data dimensionality. It is suggested to further evaluate this new method, quantitatively, in the different environments. The use of different accuracy indices was also examined in the determining the optimal threshold level for each change image. As the standard measure for classification accuracy, the Kappa coefficient of agreement was used for evaluation.

The mainly used technique to rectify satellite images with distortion is to develop a mathematical relationship between the pixel coordinates on the image and the corresponding points on the ground. By defining the relationship between two coordinate systems, a polynomial model is designed and various linear transformations are used. These GCP based geometric correction has performed overall plane to plane mapping. In the overall plane mapping, overall structure of a scene is considered, but local variation is discarded. The highly variant height of region is resampled with distortion in the rectified image. To solve this problem, this paper proposed the TIN-based rectification on a satellite image. The TIN based rectification is good to correct local distortion, but insufficient to reflect overall structure of one scene. So, this paper shows the experimental result and the analysis of each rectification model. It also describes the relationship GCP distribution and rectification model. We can choose a geometric correction model as the structural characteristic of a satellite image and the acquired GCP distribution.

Purpose : To evaluate the geometry of carotid artery by assessing the images of contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA) and interrelationships between the geometry of carotid artery and clinical factors. Materials and Methods : 216 consecutive patients who performed supraaortic CE-MRA with fast spoiled gradient-echo imaging were included. Their medical records were reviewed for variable information including risk factors predictive of generalized atherosclerotic disease (age, hypertension (HTN), diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidema, and smoking), sex, body weight, height, and body mass index (BMI). We reviewed the CE-MRA with carotid origin (3 types), carotid artery tortuosity, angle of internal carotid artery bifurcation, the type of aortic arch branching, and the presence of the coiling of carotid artery. Results : Multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that significantly contributed clinical backgrounds for carotid origin were the age and the BMI. With an increase of age at 1, the probability that the type of carotid origin become from type 1 to type 2 was 0.9 times (p=0.004) in right carotid artery (RCA), 0.9 times (p = 0.031) in left carotid artery (LCA), 0.9 times that are likely to be type3 from type 2 (p<0.001) in RCA and 0.9 times in LCA (p=0.009). Increase in BMI at 1 increased odds of becoming type 2 as 1.1 times (p = 0.067) in RCA, 1.1 times (p=0.009) in LCA and increased chance of becoming type 3 as 1.2 times (p = 0.001) in RCA, 1.2 times (p=0.003) in LCA. Mean value of right and left carotid tortuosity were $240.9{\pm}69.0^{\circ}$and $154.4{\pm}55.0^{\circ}$, respectively. Conclusion : The BMI, age, sex and presence of HTN affects the geometry of carotid arteries, the site of origin and tortuosity of carotid artery specifically.

This study identified what cognitive attributes are required of eighth graders to solve geometrical problems such as 'Recall,' 'Analyze,' 'Justify,' 'Synthesize/Integrate,' and 'Solve Non-routine Problems' by using the cognitive diagnostic theory. The five attributes are proved as the skills for solving the geometric problems. Many students have not fully mastered the attributes of 'Justify' and 'Synthesize/Integrate'. There was high correlation between these attributes. 'Analyze' best predicted the changes in the geometric achievement. And while students with high levels of geometrical achievement have mastered all the five attributes, those in the mid- and low-level range of performance have mastered fewer attributes.

SAR data can be achieved independently of weather conditions or sun illumination which is main limitation of electro-optical sensor to get image. The information from imagery can be more enlarged using Shh data be-cause SAR data offers different information from electro-optical sensor. SAR data contains various distortions caused by the radar specification and geometric properties of data acquisition. These distortions should be removed to get the information with acceptable accuracy. In this study, we aimed to correct the radiometric distortion in Shh image caused by the geometric property of the object. For this purpose, we simulated the SAR image by modelling of the power of return beam which is variable according to the geometric configuration between SAR antenna and ground object. Dividing the SAR image by the simulation image, then, we can get the radiometrically corrected image. As a result of this study, we could minimize the effect of radiometric distortion in achieving some qualitative information from SAR image for the related field, such as Geospatial Information System.
