Evaluation Criterias of Site and Plant Species for Conservation Priorities in Korea : An Overview (우리나라에서 보전우선순위를 위한 입지 및 식물종 선정의 평가기준 : 개관)

  • The criteria which have been used for the assessment of wildlife conservation values and particularly botanical values during the last decade, 1969~1986, were reviewed in order to select an appropriate set of criteria applicable for Korea. Fifteen studies, including studies of particular sites reviews of ecological evaluation are reviewed. Four criteria, rarity, diversity, size & extent and naturalness were used in more than half of these studies reviewed. The sixteen components were arranged with the scale of the sites, in view of the Korean situation. The human Interference, ecological fragility. as well as rarity, etc. were major components to be considered at small scale sites. In the contrary, area, diversity position in ecological and geographical unit, and naturalness, etc. considered the major components at larger scale sites. The components such as uniqueness, typicalness, research and educational, etc. were considered both applicable. Although this criteria should be tested by applications in the field and amended there after, It will be one of the first-step to evaluate of the protected areas, as well as specific plant species in the future.

  • This research was conducted to provide standardization method for new dental hygiene curriculum by identifying the overlapping of education content of the Department of Dental Hygiene and analytic syllabus. To complement these overlapping education programs, I would like to make some proposals. First, unified course shall be provided by compromising specific terms of overlapping subject, overlapping curriculums for the necessary skills required for job analysis of dental hygienist and overlapping class time. This shall increase the efficiency the class time and required curriculums. Next, proactive and continuos research for standardized approach to the Department of Dental Hygiene education content is necessary and Dental Hygiene academic circle shall build trust.

Comparative Study on Seismic Design of Soil-Reinforced Segmental Retaining Walls (블록식 보강토 옹벽의 내진설계에 관한 비교연구)

  • This paper reviews fundamentals of a pseudo-static seismic design/analysis method for soil-reinforced segmental retaining walls. A comparative study on NCMA and FHWA seismic design guidelines, which are one of the most well known design guidelines for mechanically stabilized earth walls, was also performed. The results demonstrate that there exist significant discrepancies in the results of external stability analysis despite the same calculation model used in the two guidelines, due primarily to different seismic coefficient selection criteria. It is also demonstrated that the internal stability calculation model for NCMA guideline tends to yield larger seismic reinforcement force in the shallower reinforcement layers, resulting in an increased number of reinforcement layers at the top of reinforced wall and increased reinforcement lengths to ensure adequate anchorage capacity. The internal stability calculation model adopted by FHWA guideline, however, leads to redistribution of dynamic force to the lower reinforcement layers and thus results n an opposite trend of NCMA guideline. Findings from this study clearly demonstrate a need for more in-depth studies to develop a generally acceptable design/analysis method.

  • 본 연구는 2022년도 "제주특별자치도 수자원 부존현황 조사 및 분석 사업"의 연구비 지원에 의해수행되었습니다.최근 IPCC 제6차 평가보고서(AR6)에 새롭게 적용된 미래 기후변화 시나리오인 SSP (Shared Socioeconomic Pathways)에 따른 제주도 지역의 미래 기후변화를 강수량, 기온, 기준증발산 등을 중심으로 분석하였다. 미래의 기후변화 자료로서 19개의 GCM 모형으로부터 도출된 4개의 SSP 시나리오(SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, SSP5-8.5)를 활용하였다. 제주도 지역의 3개 기상청 ASOS 지점(제주, 성산, 서귀포)을 대상으로 상세화된 기후변화 자료를 이용하여 지점별 및 지역별 미래 전망을 분석하였다. 기준증발산량은 기온자료만을 이용하는 Thornthwaite 방법을 활용하여 산정하였으며, FAO-56 Penman-Monteith 기준증발산량과의 차이를 최소화하기 위하여 시공간적 보정계수를 적용하였다. 과거기간(1985~2014년)을 기준으로, 미래기간(2021~2095년)을 3개 구간(2021~2045년, 2046~2070년, 2071~2095년)으로 나누어 분석하였다. 제주도 전체에 대한 평균적인 전망은 대부분의 SSP 시나리오에서 강수량, 기온, 기준증발산량 모두 미래 후반기로 갈수록 점차 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, SSP1-2.6 시나리오에서만 기온과 기준증발산량이 미래 전반기(2021~2045년)에는 크게 증가하다가 중반기(2046~2070년)와 후반기(2071~2095년)에는 비교적 일정한 것으로 전망되었다. 과거기간과 비교하여 미래 후반기 SSP5-8.5 시나리오에서 가장 크게 증가하는 것으로 전망되었으며, 강수량은 17%, 기온은 38%, 기준증발산량은 58%까지 증가하는 것으로 분석되었다. 지점별로는 제주 지점이 다른 2개 지점(성산, 서귀포)에서보다 더 많이 증가할 것으로 전망되었다. 제주 지점의 경우 SSP5-8.5 시나리오에서 연 강수량은 19%, 평균기온은 42%, 기준증발산량은 70%까지 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 증가되는 크기는 강수량은 서귀포, 성산, 제주 지점 순으로 전망되었으며, 기온과 기준증발산량은 반대로 제주, 성산, 서귀포 순으로 증가량이 클 것으로 전망되었다. 그러나 GCM 모형에 따라 전망결과가 다양하게 나타나기 때문에 이에 대한 불확실성을 고려한 미래 대응이 필요하다.

Verification of 2-Parameters Site Classification System and Site Coefficients (I) - Comparisons with Well-known Seismic Code and Site Response Characteristics (2-매개변수 지반분류 방법 및 지반 증폭계수의 검증 (I) - 국외 내진설계기준 및 부지응답특성과의 비교)

  • In order to verify that the recently proposed two-parameters site classification system and the corresponding site coefficients are suitable for the local geological conditions in Korea, a comparison was conducted with current Korean seismic code, Eurocode-8, NYC DOT seismic code. The design spectrum of the current Korean seismic code is significantly amplified in the long-period range, whereas the other response spectra, including the proposed two-parameters approach, are significantly amplified in the short-period range, which is a typical geological condition in Korea. In addition, based on the results of site response analyses in the specific $10km{\times}10km$ area of Gyeongju, spatial distributions of site coefficients from site-specific seismic response analyses were compared with the proposed site coefficients, as well as those specified in the current Korean seismic code. The site coefficients ($F_a$ and $F_v$) from the current Korean seismic codes show significantly high spatial error distributions compared with those specified by the two-parameters site classification system. Therefore, the proposed system is suitable for regions of shallow bedrock including the Korean peninsula.

Safety Evaluation of Concrete Bridges for Passage of Crane Vehicle Exceeding Weight Limit (제한 중량을 초과하는 기중기 차량 통행에 대한 콘크리트 교량의 안전성 평가)

  • It is necessary to develop a rational method for evaluating the safety of bridges for the passage of inseparable crane vehicles exceeding the limit weight. In this study, the same method applied to the development of the recently introduced reliability-based highway bridge design code - limit state design method is applied to the calibration of the live load factor for the crane vehicle. Structural analysis was performed on the concrete bridge and the required strengths of the previous design code, the current design code and AASHTO LRFD were compared. When comparing the unfactored live load effect, the live load of the crane was greater than that of the current and previous design code. When comparing the required strength by applying the calibrated live load factor, the previous design code demands the largest strength and the current design code and the crane live load effect yields similar value. The results of safety evaluation of the actual bridges on the candidate route for the crane passage secured the same reliability as the target reliability index required by the design code and the strength of the cross section of the actual bridge is calculated greater than the required strength for the passage of the crane, which confirms the safety for the passage of the crane.

  • WSN is a wirelessly configured network of sensor nodes with limited power such as batteries. If the sensor node's battery is exhausted, the node is no longer available. Therefore, if the network is to be used for a long time, energy consumption should be minimized. There are many Wireless Sensor Network Protocols to improve energy efficiency, including Cluster-based and chain-based Protocols. This paper seeks to examine the performance evaluation of routing protocols studied separately for the improvement of performance in wireless sensor network. The criteria for comparison were selected as the LEACH protocol, a representative hierarchical routing protocol, and the comparison targets considered CHEF and FLCFP and LEACH-DFL routing protocols with Fuzzy Logic. Various criteria for performance comparison were presented in this paper, and the performance was compared through simulation of each protocol. The purpose is to present a reference point for comparing the performance of other protocols through the performance comparison of CHEF, FLCFP, and LEACH-DFL, protocols with LEACH and Fuzzy Logic, and to provide additional design methods for improving the performance of protocols.

Peak Hour Volume Signal Warrant for T Intersection (첨두시간 교통량에 의한 T형 교차로 신호등 설치기준)

  • 현재 사용되고 있는 신호등 설치기준은 교차로의 형태를 반영하고 있지 않다. 본 논문은 신호 및 비신호 T형 교차로에 대한 현장의 지체도 조사를 바탕으로 첨두시간 교통량을 이용한 T형 교차로의 신호등 설치기준을 개발하였다. 기준설정을 위해 교차로의 평균정지지체 최소화를 평가척도로 사용하였으며 주요 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, T형 교차로의 지체도 모형은 주도로 교통량과 부도로 교통량을 독립변수로 하는 지수함수 형태를 갖는다. 둘째, T형 교차로의 신호등 설치기준은 T형으로 인한 현시의 감소로 MUTCD에서 제시하고 있는 신호등 설치기준과 비교시 타당성 교통량이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, T형 교차로의 신호등 설치를 위한 첨두시 교통량기준 도표를 작성하였으며, 평일의 하루중 주도로(양방향)의 시간당 교통량과 이에 사용하는 부도로의 시간당 교통량의 최대값을 도표에 표시했을 때 접근로 차로수의 조합에 해당하는 기준선의 상위영역에 위치하면 신호등을 설치하는 것이 교차로의 지체도를 최소화시킬수 있다.

Determination of Reference Input Spectrum for the Control of Fixture in Vibration Testing (진동시험구제어를 위한 기준입력 스펙트럼의 결정)

  • 본 논문에서는 진동테이블의 가속도스펙트럼에 대한 치구 위의 제어점 및 시험물부착점들에서의 가속도스펙트럼을 실제 진동시험조건에서 낮은 진동레벨로 측정한 후, 측정된 전달함수를 이용하여 기준스펙트럼과 시험물 부착점들에서의 스펙트럼의 창를 최소화하기 위한 진동테이블(armature table)에서의 가속도스펙트럼 및 제어점에서의 기준스펙트럼을 최소자승법(Least Square Method)의 원리를 적용하여 구하는 방법을 제안하였다. 본 방법은 시험규격에서 정해진 기준스펙트럼으로 제어할 경우와 제안된 기준스펙트럼으로 제어할 경우, 시험물부착점들로 전달되는 스펙트럼을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 간단히 예측할 수 있으므로 제안 전.후 결과를 쉽게 비교, 확인할 수 있고 실험을 통해 이를 증명하므로서 본 논문에서 제안된 방법의 유용성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이와 같이 제안된 기준스펙트럼을 랜덤진동제어의 기준스펙트럼으로 사용하므로서 시험규격에 정해진 기준스펙트럼을 가능한 정확히 시험물에 전달할 수 있고, 시험물부착점들에서의 과대시험 또는 과소시험을 최대한 줄이므로서 보다 정확한 진동시험을 수행할 수가 있다.

Trend Analysis and Revision of the University Library Standard in Korea (대학도서관기준의 동향분석과 개정안 연구)

  • The ultimate mission of the university library is to provide the various information services in support of the teaching, research, and public service missions of the university. The achievement of the mission requires the optimal development and timely revision of university library standard that can be used as an operating guidelines and assessment tools. On the basis of this justification, this study has compared the trend and feature of library standards in major countries(USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Taiwan), analysed the problems and limitations of legal and recommended standards in Korea, and suggested the revised plan of Korean university library standard focusing on collections, staffs, and facilities.
