Perception of Professionalism by MBTI Personality Types of Infant Childcare Teachers (영아반 보육교사의 MBTI 성격유형에 따른 전문성에 대한 인식)

  • The purpose of current study was to investigate if there is a difference in perception of professionalism depending on MBTI personality types of infant childcare teachers. The subjects of present study were 350 infant childcare teachers. The results for each research question were as follows: First, when the relationship between MBTI personality types and perception of professionalism of infant childcare teachers was investigated, it was found that higher professionalism was evident when preference for judging(J) type of infant childcare teachers among MBTI personality types was stronger, and lower professionalism was evident if preference for perceiving (P) type was stronger. Second, the result of examining differences in perception of professionalism according to MBTI personality types of infant childcare teachers was that extrovert teachers had higher perception of professional knowledge and skills than introvert teachers and there was no difference in perception of professionalism between sensing and intuition types. Teachers of thinking type had higher perception about fairness and professional organizations than those of emotional type, and teachers of judging had higher perception about socio-economic status, community service, and professional knowledge and skills than those of perception. Based on this study result, discussion was made on the fact that provision of more proper role among child and infant classes may result in efficiency and emotional and professional support is necessary so that professionalism of infant childcare teachers may be heightened.

Community Child Care Center Workers' Perceptions of Professionalism and Their Job Satisfaction (지역아동센터 종사자의 전문성 인식과 직무만족)

  • This study examines the effects of community child care center workers' perception of professionalism on their job satisfaction. This study conducts a survey of 221 community child care workers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon provinces in Korea. Results show that the level of perception of professionalism and job satisfaction are over intermediate. The perception on professional values and ethics are slightly higher than the perception on professional knowledge and skills. The workers are more satisfied with intrinsic job factors such as achievement and responsibility than extrinsic job factors such as compensation and working conditions. Regression analysis reveals that the workers' perception of professionalism is positively associated with both intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction. Based on the findings, this study provides suggestions to enhance the workers' professionalism and job satisfaction, which will contribute the quality of services in community child care centers.

정책토론회 - 건축설계의 국제경쟁력 확보와 전문화 방안

  • 우리 협회는 지난 11월 26일 오후 2시 협회 대강당에서 '건축설계의 국제경쟁력 확보 및 전문화 방안'을 주제로 토론회를 개최하였다. WTO출범과 건축설계시장개방 등 급격한 대내ㆍ외적 환경변화에 처해 있는 우리 건축계의 국제경쟁력 확보 방안을 마련하기 위해 열린 이날 토론회에서는 경쟁력 확보를 위해 건축설계사무소마다 다양한 전문분야를 확보하고, 건축설계 생산성 향상을 위해 설계업계와 구조, 설비 등 관련 전문분야가 협력체제를 구축해야 하며, 건축의 상품성과 문화예술성이 함께 고려된 건설관련 법안이 마련돼야 한다는 주장이 제기됐다. 이날 서울시립대 최찬환교수는 '건축설계의 경쟁력 확보 방안'이란 주제발표를 통해 해외건설업계의 국내진출에 대응하기 위해서는 설계사무소가 전문성과 효율성을 확보해야 한다고 강조하면서 전문영역을 크게 주거, 상업시설, 공공시설, 교육문화시설, 사회복지시설, 교통 및 운수시설 등으로 구분하였다. 최교수는 또 외국업체에 의한 국내시장 잠식을 막고 우리가 해외에 진출하기 위해서는 해외건설업체와 협력해 정보와 기술, 경험 등을 지원받아야 하고 R&D에 대한 투자를 적극적으로 해야한다고 강조했다. 이어 '건축설계의 전문화'에 대해 주제발표를 한 강원대 박경립 교수는 국내 건설관련문제점 개선과 대외경쟁력 강화를 위해 현재 입법추진되고 있는 건설산업기본법이 건축설계의 독자성과 전문성을 고려하지 않고 있다고 지적하면서 이에 대한 보완필요성을 제기하였다. 박교수는 또한 건축설계분야가 갖고 있는 전문성과 함께 '건축문화'라는 사회문화적 측면의 중요성이 인식돼야 한다며 건축의 상품성과 문화예술성이 함께 고려된 건설관련 법안이 마련돼야 한다고 지적했다. 박교수는 이밖에도 사회발전에 따른 새로운 전문영역의 개발로 실내 설계와 도시설계를 예로 들었으며 정보화에 맞게 고도의 전문성을 바탕으로 Network체계를 구축하고 그 핵심은 건축사협회에 정보Network를 구축하여 활용하는 것이라고 제안했다. 한편 주제발표 후에는 약 3시간여에 걸쳐 이문보(동국대 교수), 손세관(중앙대 교수), 이병담(현대산업개발 부사장), 김인호(국방부 건설기술과장), 유경철(삼육건축사사무소 대표), 이관영(본 협회 이사)씨 등 건설ㆍ건축관계자들이 참가한 종합토론이 이어졌다. 이 자리에서는 사회의 인식에 앞서 건축계 내부적으로 전문성과 효율성의 확보에 나서야 한다는 의견과 함께 무한경쟁속에서 우리 건축설계의 경쟁력을 높일 수 있다는 다양한 의견들이 제기되었다. 본지에서는 이번 토론회의 주제발표 내용을 요약 정리하여 게재한다.

Effect of Professionalism of Social Workers on Service Quality : Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Social Capital (사회복지사의 전문성이 서비스 질에 미치는 영향 연구 : 사회자본의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study investigated the mediating effect of social capital between social workers' professionalism and service quality. By utilizing a convenience sampling method, a survey data form 276 social workers in Chungbuk province was analyzed. Results of descriptive statistics found that professionalism of social workers is 3.36, subtype of social capital among network being 3.43, credibility is shown for 3.67, and quality of service is confirmed for 4.00points in 5-point Likert scales. Both subtypes of social capital - network and credibility - showed mediating effects in the relations between professionalism and service quality. That is, a causal path of professionalism, social capital and service quality was confirmed by the data. Based on these results theoretical and practical implications for enhancing the level of social support and service quality of social services.

The Influence of the Teaching Ethics Perceived by Preservice Childcare Teachers on Teacher Efficacy and Professionalism Awareness (예비보육교사들이 지각한 교직윤리의식이 교사효능감과 전문성인식에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this study is understand the influence of the teaching ethics of preservice childcare teachers on teacher efficacy and professionalism awareness. In order to achieve the study objective, the questionnaires were distributed to 285 preservice childcare teachers in A city. In the results of the study, first, regarding the teaching ethics perceived by preservice childcare teachers, 'the ethics of infants' were the most highly perceived while the 'teaching strategy' on teacher efficacy, and 'social service' and 'professional ethics' on professionalism awareness were the most highly perceived. Second, preservice childcare teachers' teaching ethics, teacher efficacy, and professionalism awareness had statistically significant correlations. Third, preservice childcare teachers' teaching ethics had positive influence on teacher efficacy and professionalism awareness. Based on the results of this study, in order to improve the quality of the childcare service after understanding the importance of preservice childcare teachers' teaching ethics, it would be necessary to have various researches on the internal stability of the systematic education for childcare teachers to have teacher efficacy and professionalism awareness.

  • It is becoming more essential than ever for office professionals to become competent in information processing through fast response to the stimuli and needs coming from the current global business society which is controlled by the speed of improvement of information technology. Office professionals' success in business today depends on the level of job competency and the professional development that are required for problem solving in a global business environment. The main purpose of this research is to design a database for office professionals according to the recent result of DACUM job analysis for office administrators and implement a prototype with various kinds of services in five major categories such as human relationship management, event management, project management, special occasion management, and office knowledge management. The result of this study can be utilized to enhance the levels of both productivity and professionals.

Effects of Childcare Teacher's Job Satisfaction and Professional Learning Environment on the Turnover Intention (국공립과 민간·가정 어린이집 보육교사의 직무만족도 및 전문성 지원환경이 이직의도에 미치는 영)

  • This study examined the effects of childcare teachers' job satisfaction and the professional learning environment on their turnover intention. The study sample consisted of 625 childcare teachers in the S, I, and G area of Korea. Childcare teachers completed a self-administered questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using a t-test, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression analysis. The main findings were as follows. First, the level of turnover intention was varied by the type of childcare facility. Childcare teachers working in national and public facilities had a lower turnover intention than the facilities of private and homes. Second, the childcare teacher's job satisfaction, professional learning environment, and turnover intention were closely correlated regardless of the type of childcare facility. Third, the childcare teacher's job satisfaction and professional learning environment were significant predictors of the turnover intention. Therefore, policymakers need to address these issues.
