Consumers' Subjective Risk Perceptions of Tab Water and Stated Preferences for Safe Drinking Water (소비자들의 수돗물에 대한 주관적 위험인지와 안전한 음용수에 대한 진술선호 분석)

  • This paper attempts to incorporate three important factors-perceptions, behavior and valuation-in analysing consumers' responses to health risks from environmental pollutants. Using a survey sample of 500 consumers in the Chonbuk province area, this paper empirically investigated determinants of risk perceptions from using tap water as drinking water. Most consumers were considerably concerned about health risks from drinking tap water. Moreover, those subjective concerns were not random, but were systematically related to individuals' demographic variables such as age, gender, and family size. Those subjective beliefs also influenced respondents' purchase intentions on safer water bottles, in response to a contingent behavior question of presenting two types of water bottles. The technical risk information provided in the survey had significant effects on purchase intentions only when it was interacted with respondents' actual averting practice. In addition, the sample selection effects were present by eliminating respondents who decided not to purchase either of two types of water bottles. The potential selection bias had impacts on the coefficients of the price difference variable, and subsequently the estimates of the price increments for health risk reductions.

Effects of Sewage Irrigation on Rice Growth Condition in Paddy Soil (오수유입수 관개가 벼 생육환경에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was peformed to assess environmental effect through rice culture with sewage irrigation using Iksan stream water from 2002 to 2003. Contents of $NH_4-N$ in irrigation water keep up one day at the tillering stage and panicle formation stage were decreased 40% and 52% respectively, but that of continued 4 days was decreased $88%{\sim}98%$. The $NH_4-N\;and\;NO_3-N$ in run off by reduction 50% fertilization were more decreased 17% and 44% respectively, than those of conventional fertilization level. Amount of K and $NO_3-N$ loss in infiltration water were more decreased 18% and 4% respectively, those of than conventional fertilization level. The Cu and Pb contents in soil of after experiment were slightly increased but other heavy metals were not accumulated. The rice yield by reduction 50% fertilization level was not significant compare with conventional fertilization level but head rice rate was increased.

Oxidative Changes in the Ramyon(deep fat fried instant noodles with palm oil) Lipids during Storage (저장중(貯藏中) plam유(油)로 유열처리(油熱處理)한 라면 유지(油脂)의 산패(酸敗))

  • Ramyon(deep fat fried instant noodle with palm oil) preserved in sunlight, room temp. ($20{\pm}5^{\circ}C$), incubator ($30{\pm}2^{\circ}C$) and corrugated fiber board box to investigate the oxidative changes of the Ramyon lipids. In the study, changes in acid value, peroxide value, carbonyl value, TBA value, fatty acid composition, iodine value and panel test were determined with the lipids extracted from the Ramyon samples in intervals for a period of 20 weeks. Acid value, peroxide value, carbonyl value and TBA value of the Ramyon lipid were increased slightly during the storage in aluminum foil package in the corrugated fiber board box in the dark room. They did not appear the oxidative rancid odor at the end of 20 weeks storage. Acid value, peroxide value, carbonyl value and TBA value of the samples under room temp., incubator slightly during storage, while a sharp increase of those values were noticed with the samples of sunlight. Especially, the TBA value of the Ramyon lipid under sunlight markedly increased within 14 weeks and then decreased. Oxidative rancid odor appeared at the end of 10 weeks storage under sunlight, while it took 18 weeks with the sample stored under room temp. and incubator. During the storage under incubator and sunlight for 18 weeks, the content of oleic, linoleic acid decreased, while palmitic and stearic acid increased. However, only small changes were noticed in iodine value of the samples.

The Development of Kitchenware Design through Cognitive Analysis (인지적 사고과정 분석을 통한 주방기구디자인 개발)

  • The whole design process drawing outputs from design planning is based on designers' intuitive ideas and differences in technical ability. However, every design professional agrees to the fact that such design process is filled with individuals' implicit acts or inherent intuition rather than following directions in a certain defined frame. If the design process based on such intuition and experience can start from the rational and scientific process, it would be possible to move more systematic design process to the next step. This study aims to examine what system of thinking are used by designers to conduct the design information process, by using the protocol analysis which is the representative qualitative study method of cognitive science, on designers' cognitive behaviors like the contents of the design sketch process which is the initial step of the kitchenware development process, in order to understand professionals' and non-professionals' design application direction. Thus, the scope of this paper would be limited to "the initial protocol analysis on kitchenware" and "encoding of the analysis on thinking" in the qualitative study that can be the most basic to understand the design cognitive science. As a procedure to solve this study question, it aimed to seek for the product development flow and the educational effect by considering the preceding researches and also re-interpreting cognitive thinking in systematic methods.

A Study on the Potential and Limitation of Pre-producing Dramas through Social Analysis -focusing on a jtbc drama - (소셜 분석을 통한 사전제작 드라마의 가능성과 한계에 관한 연구 -jtbc <맨투맨>을 중심으로-)

  • This paper examines the relevance of pre-production and storytelling in big data analysis and, focusing on JTBC's Man to Man series, looks at how the drama's storytelling should be structured. In this study, we conducted text mining on blogs focused on a particular topic to read the viewer's thoughts on pre-produced dramas and on 67 blogs written about Pre-Production Dramas from 2016.12.15 to 2017.12.15. Also, we conducted sentiment analysis about the Man to Man series, which is not only a pre-production drama, but also has storytelling issues. The blog text extraction and text mining were analyzed using the OutWit Hub and the R, and the tools.provided by social metrics were used to make sentiment analyses of the larger data. Sentiment analysis revealed that the viewers of the Man to Man series did not agree with the romance between Kim Sul-woo and Cha Do-ha, due to the lack of reality in the female characters. Therefore, it was concluded that it is crucial to increase the reality of the characters in order to increase the audience's empathy. These studies will continue to be necessary, because they will form the basis for digitally driven storytelling studies and will provide valuable materials for conducting predictions and instructions in the cultural content industry.

A Study on the Nutrient Release Characteristics from Sediments in the Asan Reservoir (아산호 퇴적물에서 영양염류 용출특성에 관한 연구)

  • To investigate the effects of sediments on the water quality of an estuary reservoir, Asan reservoir, we analyzed physical and chemical characteristics of the sediments and estimated nutrients release rate from the sediments. The sediments characterized as sandy loam are mainly composed of Nonapatite-P(64.7%) which has strong influence on the eutrophication of the reservoir by releasing from the sediments under the condition of increasing pH and anaerobic environment. High nutrient release rates was observed in April. Negative release rates in June show that there is no significant nutrient release from the sediments. The nutrient release was active at the Site B around the confluence of tributary compared to the Site A near the embankment. Based on the information of nutrient release rates and sediments surface area, daily average nutrient release rates of Asan reservoir are estimated; TN 6,609 kg/d, TP 3,877 kg/d. Since the amount of N and P released from the sediments corresponds to the 7.06% of N and 22.04% of P incoming from the watershed, it can be concluded that there is little influence of sediments on the water quality of Asan reservoir.

Event-Related Potentials of a Monosyllabic Word (단음절 단어의 사건 관련 전위)

  • 본 실험은 종합적 인지과정을 추론할 수 있는 결합 문제(binding problem)를 언어적인지 과정을 통해 알아 본 실험으로, 총 10 명(남:61여:4, 평균나이:24.40 $\pm$ 1.35)의 정상군을 대상으로, 4개의 음소로 이루어진 단음절 명사를 목표 자극(target stimulus)으로 하고, 4개 음소의 임의적인 조합으로서 글자를 이루지 못하는 비목표 자극(non-target stimulus)을, 각각 200 회와 800 회씩 시각적으로 0.5초씩 무작위로 제시하여 128 채널 고밀도 사건관련전위(ERP)를 측정하였다. 이번 실험 결과의 주요 특징은 글자가 아닌 비목표 자극보다 글자인 목표 자극에서 두드러지게 나타난 두정엽 부근의 P500 과 N900 이라고 할 수 있다. 자극 제시 비율의 차이에서 오는 oddball 효과로 인한 기존 P300 의 인지적 의미를 이번 결과의 P500 이 함축한다고 볼 수 있으며, 단음절 단어를 인지할 때, 글자임을 인식하는 순간은 의미적인지 과정이 진행되었다기보다 그 글자의 형태만으로 낯익은 글자인지를 분간하는 것으로 보인다 따라서, 이 경우 기존 언어 실험에 자주 등장하던 의미론적 peak 인 N400 은 보이지 않고, 곧바로 형태적이고, 통사적(syntactic)인 인지 처리 과정인 P500이 나타났다고 해석할 수 있다. 하지만, 이번 실험에서는 N400 대신에 N900 이 나타났다. 이 결과는 이번 ERP 실험과 병행된 프로토콜 분석을 통해, 피험자가 자극 제시 후, 약 900ms 정도에, 이미 제시되고 사라진 글자 자극을 다시 한번 떠올리는 인지 과정이 일어난다는 점과 관련 지어 해석하면, 기존에 의미적(semantic) 인지 과정으로만 해석했던 negative-peak 를 생각(thinking)과 같은 내재적인지 과정(internal cognitive process)으로 확장하여 일반화하는 추론도 생각해 볼 수 있다. 요컨대, 언어인지를 통한 이번 실험을 통해, 뇌파에서 검출되는 negative-peak 은 internal cognitive process로 추측되고, positive-peak 는 external cognitive process 라고 생각된다. 덧붙여, 유의해서 볼 점은 각 peak-topology 에서 Cz 의 진폭이 Fz 보다 크게 나온 점과, 일반적으로 언어 기능을 담당한다는 좌측 측두엽(T7)이 우측(T8)보다 통계적으로 더 유의미한 차이를 보였다는 점등이다.

Priority Derivation of Policy Plans for ICT SMEs and Ventures' Globalization (정보통신분야 중소벤처기업의 글로벌화 정책방안 우선순위 도출)

  • This study analyzed the globalization policy of ICT SMEs and ventures using cognitive map analysis and derived the priority to importance about action plans using AHP model, while the globalization paradigm has been rapidly changing in the ICT industry. Empirical results showed that policy tool variables should be needed to develop because policy goal variables are generally presented more than policy tool variables. In addition, this cognitive map could be characterized by a scarcity of feedback loops which means policy landscape for ICT SMEs and ventures' globalization is unilateral rather than cyclical to reach policy goal from policy tools. Another finding is that creative economy policy variable was not observed as policy tool variable but as policy goal variable. This means creative economy can be implemented through support for ICT SMEs and ventures' globalization. Finally, for detailed policy measures, installation of global start-up center, recruiting and utilization of global specialists, revitalization of ICT R&D international collaboration study, enlargement of global investment network, accompanied overseas advance of large enterprises and SMEs are presented in order in terms of the importance of policy priority.

Physico-Chemical Properties of Starches from Atlantic and Bora Valley Potato Cultivar with Different Colors (색깔이 다른 대서와 보라밸리 감자 전분의 이화학적 특성)

  • Physico-chemical properties of starches from potato cultivars with different colors were investigated. White Atlantic potato had 10% higher starch yield than violet Bora Valley potato. It turned out that the shape and structure of Atlantic and Bora Valley potato starch were the same by mechanical analysis using X-ray and SEM. The ratio of $50\;{\mu}m$ particle in starches from Atlantic and Bora Valley potato was $45.44\pm2.79%$ and $42.37\pm1.03%$ respectively. The particle size of Atlantic potato starch was less than that of Bora Valley; however, there was no significant difference (p<0.05). As for moisture coupling, there was no difference (p<0.05) between the two potatoes. Swelling power showed a high increase from $65^{\circ}C$ to $80^{\circ}C$. The swelling power of Atlantic starch was higher by about 0.3% than that of Bora Valley at $90^{\circ}C$. Since Atlantic has smaller starch particles than Bora Valley, more starch particles are contained in the same size, and hence a difference in swelling power. As a result of measuring the gelatinization of potato starches from Atlantic and Bora Valley, a higher gelatinization start, climax, and complete temperatures occurred at Bora Valley than Atlantic. As for gelatinization enthalpy, Bora Valley starch with a higher gelatinization temperature consumed more energy for gelatinization.

Study on Vulnerability of Multi-Culturalism Discourses in Korea A Case Study of JTBC's Entertainment Show (텔레비전 예능 프로그램 속의 다문화주의 JTBC <비정상회담>의 '기미가요' 논란을 통해 본 다문화주의 담론의 취약성 연구)

  • Korean mass media has represented foreigners in their documentaries, entertainment shows, situational comedies, and dramas for long time, while the representations created plenty of controversies. Alleged West-oriented racism found from various televison programs may be one of them. Recently, however, more Korean television shows began to incorporate the ideas of multi-culturalism. This paper is an attempt to explore how television audiences interpret multi-culturalism reflected in the media. More specifically, this is a case study of JTBC's , a show featuring foreigners debating on various topics regarding Korean culture. Particularly, it focuses on disputes over the producers' decision to play 'Kimigayo' (the national anthem of Japan, which is also considered as a symbol of Japanese militaristic past) when introduced a new Japanese panel. Critical discourse analysis was adoped as the main research method, and researchers found that audiences draw certain guidelines in accepting multi-cultural aspects. If and when these aspects overstep the line, they tend to abandon it without hesitance. In the case of 'Kimigayo,' it was ethno-centrism and/or anti-Japanes sentiments which made multi-culturalsim much weaker. It does not mean that multi-culturalism was replaced-or defeated-by nationalism, but show the 'vulnerability' of multi-culturalsim. Multi-culturalism is not as concretely rooted in Korean society as many people have claimed or hoped. The research has its own limitations as a case study, but it is hoped to stimulate other researchers to keep their eyes on media and multi-culturalsim in Korea.
