An Analysis of the Interaction of Perceptive, Cognitive, and Metacognitive Activities on the Middleschool Students' Modeling Activity (모델링 과정에서 지각적, 인지적, 메타인지적 활동의 상호작용에 관한 사례연구)

  • In this article, we classify the middleschool students' mathematical modeling activities with three types as following: perceptive activity, cognitive activity, and metacognitive activity. And we research model development process through the interaction of perceptive, cognitive, and metacognitive activities. We report three results of our case study as following: First, students understanded the context of the modeling tasks on the base of their own experience and constructed the tasks with perceptive activity operating tool. Second, students developed various models with reorganizing cognitive activity which think and reason about perceptive activity-based model. Third, students were able to create generalizable and reusable models through metacognitive activities. This study revealed that the possible contribution of modeling activity as following. Students are able to understand abstractive mathematical knowledge as connecting between realistic activity and abstractive activity.

  • 인터넷 환경의 데이터 베이스에 접속하여 물품을 적은 경비를 들여 신속하고 효율적으로 원하는 장소에 때를 맞추어보낼 수 있도록 함으로써 가치를 창출하는 경제 활동 즉, 자재 및 제품의 포장·수송·하역·보관·통신 등의 활동을 시스템적으로 개발 함으로서 보다 효율적이고, 신속한 물류의 흐름을 파악할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 대단위 트랜잭션 처리가 가능한 컴포넌트 기반의 고 가용성 물류시스템의 구축을 목표로 구성하였다. 이 시스템은 윈도우 DNA 기반의 컴포넌트 기반구조를 중점으로 구현했으며 TP 모니터위주의 설계를 중점으로 하였다. 따라서 한가지만의 정보가 아닌 전체적인 포탈 시스템으로 전반적인 정보의 활용을 할 수 있는 시스템이다.

Impact of Peer Assessment Activities on High School Student's Argumentation in Argument-Based Inquiry (논의 기반 탐구 과학수업에서 동료평가 활동이 고등학생의 논의에 미치는 영향)

  • This study focused on the use of peer assessment activities to investigate its the impact on students' argumentation skills in argument-based inquiry. The participants of the study were 106 10th grade students (four classes). Two classes were assigned to the experimental group, and the other two classes were assigned to the comparative group. The experimental group was taught argument-based inquiry through the application of peer assessment activities. The comparative group was taught argument-based inquiry without peer assessments. At the claim and evidence stage, students were asked to evaluate whether peers' claims fit with the evidence and whether peers' explanation of the evidences validity was sufficient. The quality of argumentation used in the students' writing was different in each group. According to the analysis of the summary writing test, the results showed that the experimental group had a significantly higher mean score than the comparative group in argumentation components, including evidence and warrant/backing. In addition, the experimental group used better multimodal representation including explanation of evidence than the comparative group. The findings showed that argument-based inquiry applying peer assessment activities had an effect on the argumentation skills in students' writing.

Exploratory Study on Maker Education Activity based on Scientific Concept: For University Students (과학 개념 기반 메이커 교육 활동에 대한 탐색 연구 -대학생들을 대상으로-)

  • This study aims to identify the characteristics of the program that integrates maker education with science subjects and to explore the maker's competency expressed in students. To this study, a maker activity program based on scientific concepts was developed and applied to 20 first-year students at H University in a general chemistry experiment course, and activity data were analyzed. The analysis results of maker activities based on scientific concepts are as follows. First, students performed activities through the process of 'presentation of ideas,' 'selection and planning of ideas,' and 'prototyping'. In particular, it was confirmed that prototyping was divided into stages of "partial prototyping" and "full prototyping". Second, as characteristics of the activity, 'use of scientific concepts as logic for coding in the process of maker activities', 'in-depth understanding of scientific concepts', and 'inducing high achievement and interest through transfer of initiative in learning' were confirmed. Third, collaboration competency and making performance competency were frequently expressed in the process of activities, but human-centered competency were rarely expressed.

  • 웹 기반 프로젝트학습은 학생들 스스로 웹에서 자신들의 제작물을 만들면서 자신의 기능과 지식을 실제로 적용하는 과정과 학습경험을 모두 의미한다. 그러므로 학습자들의 다양하고 폭넓은 학습활동이 기대된다. 본 연구에서 설계한 프로젝트 학습 시스템은 수시로 교사와 전문가의 도움도 받고 다른 팀의 동료 학생들로부터 평가를 받으면서 아동의 관심과 흥미, 주제 중심, 활동 중심, 문제 중심의 프로젝트 활동을 할 수 있도록 한다. 그리고 이들 웹 상에서 구현함으로써 학습자 중심의 공동 프로젝트 학습이 되도록 한다.

Complexity of Productive Activities and Life-Satisfaction of Korea's Older People (노인 생산적 활동의 복합성과 생활만족도)

  • Current discussions on productive aging are going towards the direction to sustain a social productivity and lessen a social burden, and this becomes distinct as it gives a strong value to the activity and independence of older people. This study highlights complex situations of productive activities in the group of older people by analyzing the survey of Among the productive activities of older people, two areas of activities - paid labor and social support - were interpreted differently according to their economic stability, spontaneity and family relations. This difference becomes more remarkable in the analysis on life satisfaction of older people. In paid work, which is the most common productive activity, there was a big difference in life satisfaction between those who work spontaneously and those who work inevitably to make a living. And in the comparison of life satisfaction for those who participate in homemaking and care working according to their economic situations and family relations, those who were unsatisfied with family relations showed lower life satisfaction.

  • Learning analytic has been utilized to helps us to successfully complete the course by using the interaction of the teacher and the learner data generated from the teaching and learning support system. In other words, Learning analytic is a method in order to understand the activities of learners. In the learning analytic, the data model is needed in order to utilize the more useful for teaching and learning activities data. Therefore, in this study, we propose a user centric data model of learning styles and learning objects. This model is expressed by aggregating of user learning style, learning objects, and learning activities. The proposed model is significant that laid the foundation for analyzing the activities of the learners in course units.

  • 최근 해양 분야에서는 레저보트, 윈드서핑, 낚시 해상관광 등 해상에서 활동이 증가됨에 따라 선박의 안전을 비롯하여 해상 활동을 위한 다양한 정보 제공 요구가 점차 늘어가고 있다. 해상활동을 위한 정보제공은 사용자의 위치를 기반으로 사용자에게 적합한 정보의 제공이 필요하다. 특히, 전자해도 상에 사용자의 위치 또는 사용자가 지정한 위치를 기반으로 정보를 제공하는 위치 기반 정보 서비스의 제공 요구가 늘어나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 위치 또는 사용자가 설정한 위치를 중심으로 전자해도 상에 정보를 표시하여 제공하는 정보시스템 모델을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 시스템은 사용자 디바이스로부터 획득한 위치정보 또는 사용자가 전자해도 상에 지정한 위치를 바탕으로 항로표지 정보, 일출, 일몰, 간조, 만조, 날씨 등을 표시하여 제공한다.

  • 민간에 의한 경찰활동의 역사는 뿌리가 깊다. 자신과 가족의 보호로부터 시작된 경찰활동은 시간이 지남에 따라 그 영역을 넓히면서 더욱 구체화 되었다. 경찰활동은 공공에 의한 경우와 개인적 차원의 활동으로 구분할 수 있다. 경찰활동을 police activity, police operation, policing이라고 하는데 공공 또는 정부 차원에서 이루어지는 경찰활동은 public police activity, 개인적 차원 혹은 민간 차원의 경찰활동을 private police activity라고도 한다. 인류 역사 이래 스스로를 지키기 위한 경찰활동이 있었으며 국가체제에서도 경찰국가로 불리던 시기가 있었다. 시간이 지남에 따라 경찰활동 영역에도 많은 변화가 있었는데 공경찰활동은 국가 또는 중앙정부, 혹은 지방정부의 변화와 맥락을 같이한다. 민간경찰활동 역시 경찰활동을 요구하는 개인 또는 기업 등의 변화에 따라 많은 변화가 있었다. 민간에 의한 경찰활동은 정부의 공경찰활동이 미치지 못하는 영역에서 요구되었으며 이는 자연스럽게 민간경찰활동의 성장으로 귀결되었다. 단순하게 개인과 재산, 시설 등을 경비하던 수준에서 벗어나 이제는 연관되지 않은 영역이 없을 정도의 발전을 하였으며 과학적이고 기술적으로 진보되고 발전되었다. 앞으로는 첨단 시설과 장비는 물론이고 각종 데이터베이스를 기반으로 하는 인공지능의 활용이 더욱 활발할 것으로 기대된다.

A Study on Data Preprocessing for the Activity-Travel Simulator: A Case of FEATHERS Seoul (활동기반 시뮬레이터 입력 자료의 전처리 방안에 대한 연구: FEATHERS Seoul을 사례로)

  • Research on activity-based travel demand forecasting and activity-travel simulator has received an international attention for the last two decades. Ways to develop the activity-based simulator may be manifold. It is obvious that importing an existing simulator that has been proven internationally likely reduces the development cost and the risk of failure. By definition of the activity-based approach, however, the details of an activity-based simulator inevitably relies on particular social, economic and cultural characteristics of the society where the simulator is developed. When importing such a simulator from overseas, the researcher should be aware of the importance of tuning the system for the society to which the imported system is applied. There are many potential works on this, including for example the tuning of data structure that is likely different form of the original system. The authors are yet aware of certain research on those. The current paper aims to report the result of transforming the input data for applying the existing activity-travel simulator to Seoul. The paper first introduces FEATHERS that was developed in Belgium having Albatross which is the core of system. FEATHERS Seoul that is under development and modified version of the original FEATHERS is briefly described and the related problems are discussed. The paper then explored to resolve and to alleviate such problems.
