  • Although e-Learning contents contain audio materials as well as visual materials, research on the design of audio materials has been focused on visual design. If it is considered that non-speech sounds which are a type of audio materials can promptly provide feedbacks of learners' responses and guide learners' learning process, the systemic design of non-speech sounds is needed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the learners' perceptions toward non-speech sounds contained the e-Learning contents with multidimensional scaling method. For this purpose, the eleven non-speech sounds were selected among non-speech sounds designed Korea Open Courseware. The 66 juniors in A university responded the degree of similarity among 11 non-speech sounds and the learners' perceptions towards non-speech sounds were represented in the multidimensional space. The result shows that learners perceive separately non-speech sounds by the length of non-speech sounds and the atmosphere which is positive or negative.

  • This thesis analyzed the correlation between the psychological characteristics of adolescents and the use of games in the first year students of the national high school in 2016. The game is one of the representative entertainment industries in Korea and is an industry that has a great influence on becoming a powerhouse as cultural contents. However, games and immersion are expressed as a negative vocabulary of game addiction and are referred to as social problems and youth problems, and they give negative perception to the content of games. All users have the right to enjoy the content, but only negative words are used in poisonous games and they are packed as if they are social problems. In the present study, many emotional problems that were derived from previous studies were not related to game use in general adolescents. Through the questions related to 'depression', students who are not motivated or energy. The results of this study are as follows. First, the positive effects of game and youth emotional problems were derived through the conclusion that students who are active and emotionally bright are more likely to use game contents. This study was conducted to help change the social perception of the game positively by breaking the social fixed point of view that the emotionally troubled adolescents engage with the game and cause social problems.

  • It is often reported that foreign tourists visiting Korea are not satisfied with dining in a Korean restaurant, and the reason is assumed that most of the Korean restaurants are targeting Koreans and operating in a traditional way; thus, this study suggests the need of a new type of Korean restaurant such as quick service restaurant, where foreign tourists could have Korean food in a more familiar way. It is attempted to examine foreign tourists' visit intention toward Korean quick service restaurant (QSR) applying the model of goal-oriented behavior (MGB). The survey was conducted with foreign tourists and total 275 data was gathered. Structural equation modeling was used for analysis. Among MGB variables, attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control had significant effect on desire, while postive and negative anticipated emotions did not had significant effect. Also, involvement showed a significant moderating effect as positive anticipated emotion had much stronger effect on desire in a high involvement group.

This paper aimed at examining the advent of UCC as a critical media tool in interactive two-way communication and the effect of ethical questions on the level of UCC participation. The findings show that uncertainty avoidance gives an positive and significant effect on privacy concern and regulatory preference, but it is not related to copyright invasion in Korea and U.S.A. It is shown that privacy concern does not influence on UCC retrieval in Korea whereas it is positively related to UCC retrieval in the United States. Also, privacy concern has not relationship with UCC production(modification, recreation, generation) in both nations. In the case of regulatory preference, it posits an significant and positive effect on UCC retrieval in Korea while it is not related to UCC retrieval in the United States. Also, regulatory preference does not affect on UCC production in Korea whereas it influences on UCC generation without impacting UCC modification and recreation in U.S.A. Finally, the results show that copyright invasion has stronger relationship with UCC recreation and generation than UCC modification, and it is positively related to UCC retrieval in both nations.

  • The purpose of the study was to understand the various aspects of learning experiences of Korean university students on K-MOOC. Analyses on the major motivation of the enrollment in a certain MOOC class, the actual learning experiences in the class and the perception of the achievement of the class were the three main foci of the current study. The study employed inductive content analysis as a major analysis tool. Reflective journals from 94 students who enrolled in K-MOOC classes were collected and analyzed at the end of the semester. The result of this study indicated that most of students selected the specific K-MOOC classes based on their general interests on the topics the class offered. Other factors such as intellectual curiosity, practical reasons for their study or work and popularity were also influential on the selection of MOOC classes. Watching videos, taking quizzes and taking tests were the three major sources of the students' satisfaction. Most students felt that K-MOOC is technically satisfactory. However, some students reported on simple errors and absence of advanced functions in the platform. Students perceived positively on their academic achievements of obtaining knowledge(remembering and understanding), attitudes (receiving), and skills through K-MOOC. This study ultimately showed a new awareness of learning experiences around K-MOOC from the perspective of the students. Future research is needed to understand the relationships between the students' learning experience and the students' performance in MOOC classes.

  • This study is a descriptive research study conducted to investigate the influence of fear of evaluation and test anxiety on social anxiety among nursing students. The subjects were 383 nursing students in a university and surveyed the structured questionnaires for evaluation fear, test anxiety and social anxiety from June to July 2015. As a result, it was found that fear of positive evaluation, fear of negative evaluation and test anxiety were found to affect social anxiety, and these variables predicted social anxiety of nursing students by 30%. The social anxiety of nursing students verified differences according to the economic condition, satisfaction of major in nursing, and academic stress, and that there was a positive correlation between fear of positive evaluation (r=.45, p<.001), fear of negative evaluation (r=.29, p<.001) and test anxiety (r=.29, p<.001). This study is significant in that fear of evaluation and test anxiety of nursing students are verified to be factors affecting social anxiety. We suggest that a social anxiety intervention program be developed and applied for nursing students. Also, it is necessary secure a strategy to apply the intervention program by screening social anxiety of nursing students in advance.

  • This study was conducted to investigate whether Stroop-related cognitive task will be affected according to the preceding affective valence factored by matchedness in response time(RT) and whether facial recognition will be indexed by specific event-related potentials(ERPs) signature in normal person as in patients suffering from affective disorder. ERPs primed by subliminal(30ms) facial stimuli were recorded when presented with four pairs of affect(positive or negative) and cognitive task(matched or mismatched) to get ERP effects(N2 and P300) in terms of its amplitude and peak latency variations. Behavioral response analysis based on RTs confirmed that subliminal affective stimuli primed the target processing in all affective condition except for the neutral stimulus. Additional results for the ERPs performed in the negative affect with mismatched condition reached significance of emotional-face specificity named N2 showing more amplitude and delayed peak latency compared to the positive counterpart. Furthermore the condition shows more positive amplitude and earlier peak latency of P300 effect denoting cognitive closure than the corresponding positive affect condition. These results are suggested to reflect that negative affect stimulus in subliminal level is automatically inhibited such that this effect had influence on accelerating detection of the affect and facilitating response allowing adequate reallocation of attentional resources. The functional and cognitive significance with these findings was implied in terms of subliminal effect and affect-related recognition modulating the cognitive tasks.
