Determination of brightener concentrations in Watt-type Ni Electroplating bath using dilution titration-cyclic voltammetry stripping (DT-CVS) (희석 적정-순환전류전압법을 이용한 와트욕 내부 광택제 농도 모니터링)

  • 스마트 도금공장을 구축하기 위해서는 도금액 내부의 화학 물질 농도 변화를 측정할 수 있는 화학 센서 기술이 필수적으로 요구된다. 와트욕은 대표적인 고속 니켈 도금액 중 하나로 기본적으로 황산니켈, 염화니켈, 보릭산의 염과 함께 케리어(type-1 광택제), 광택제(type 2-광택제), 응력 제어제 등의 유기 첨가제로 구성되어 있다. 이러한 유기 첨가제는 전차된 니켈층의 두께 균일도, 조도, 미세 구조, 내부 응력 등 다양한 특성을 제어하며, 정밀한 농도 관리가 필수적으로 요구되나, 분석 기술의 부재로 인하여 지금까지도 대부분의 액관리는 할셀법이나 작업자의 경험에 의존하고 있다. Cyclic voltammetry stripping(CVS) 방법은 전기화학 분석 과정에서 나타나는 첨가제의 가속, 감속 특성 등과 여기에 수반되는 stripping peak의 변화를 이용하여 개별 첨가제의 농도를 측정하는 방법이며, 지금까지 인쇄회로기판의 비아필 공정, 전해 동박 제조, 반도체 배선 등 구리도금 산업 전반에 걸쳐 첨가제 관리에 효과적으로 적용되고 있다. 그러나 수소 발생으로 인한 stripping 효율 문제로 인하여 니켈, 주석, 아연 등 표준 환원 전위가 높은 금속 도금액 내부 첨가제 농도 측정은 아직 어려운 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 이 문제를 극복하기 위해 염소를 과량 첨가한 구리 도금액을 CVS 분석의 base 용액으로 이용하여 니켈 도금액 내부 여러 광택제 (polyetylene glycol(PEG) 계열, thiourea 계열, 2-butyne-1,4-diol 등) 농도를 측정하는 법을 제시하였다. 제시된 방법은 CVS 분석 과정에서 구리-염소 사이의 상호 작용으로 인해 생성되는 3가지 stripping peak의 상대적인 크기 변화가 첨가제 농도에 따라 영향을 받는다는 사실에 기반하였다. 본 연구에서는 여기에 관한 원인에 대해 고찰하였으며, 제시된 방법을 통해 광택제 계열 첨가제 농도 측정을 선택적으로 할 수 있다는 것을 증명하였다.

  • Palladium plays a pivotal role in the production of dental and medicinal devices, medicinal substances, jewellery, automobile and high-performance adhesives. Despite the frequent and fruitful use of such reactions, one major setback is the high level of palladium in the resultant compounds which can harm the human body. Among the palladium species, $PdCl_2$ is the most toxic. As a consequence it is desirable to detect the $Pd^{2+}$ cations by fluorescence spectra because it can provide an operationally simple and cost-effective detection method together with high sensitivity and selectivity. Herein, an ${\alpha}$-carbonyl substituted pyrene derivative, ${\gamma}$-oxo-1-pyrenebutyric acid (OPBA), was demonstrated to be a highly sensitive and selective fluorescent probe for $Pd^{2+}$ among the metal cations examined in aqueous solutions.

  • $MgB_4O_7$: Tb, Tm, Dy, La, Ho and Nd phosphors have been prepared by sintering around $580^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours followed by flowing Ar gas. Activation energy and kinetic order of main peak of glow curve were studied by two methods peak shape method and initial rise method. By these methods, the estimated activation energies were $0.76\pm0.02eV$(Tb doped), $0.94\pm0.03eV$(Tm doped), $0.72\pm0.02eV$(Dy doped), respectively. The TL phosphors prepared in this work may be utilized to radiation sensor elements becaue of their high sensitivity to low energy X-ray.

  • 생물체의 cDNA를 유리기판위에 고밀도로 첨착 시킨 유전자 칩과 정량적인 방법으로 개별 유전자 발현을 진단 가능한 Real- time PCR (실시간 고분자중합연쇄반응 기술) 기법은 첨단 의학분야와 신약개발 및 독성유전체 연구분야에 활발히 도입되고 있는 기술이다. 본 발표의 첫 번째 부분에서는 유전자칩 에서 얻어진 유전자 발현패턴분석에 기반한 바이오마커 선정 및 real time PCR에 의한 확증 관련 기술 과 유전자칩에서 얻어지는 수많은 데이터를 재정렬 및 다양한 분석기법과 display기술을 활용하여 광범위한 화학물질에 대한 독성효과 분석을 가능하게 해주며, 특정 독성물질에 대한 관련유전자 그룹 발견 및 독성영향에 따른 분류방법에 관한 결과를 발표할 것이다. 또한 바이오마커 활용의 하나로 박테리아세포 기반 바이오센서 제작및 세포칩 개발등에 대한 결과도 추가될 것이다. 두 번째 부분에서는 non-model organism(유전체정보가 확보되지 않은 생물체)인 송사리를 이용하여 새로운 2K 유전자칩을 개발하고, 여기서 각종 화학물질에 대하여 얻어진 수많은 유전자칩 분석 데이타를 활용하여 각각의 화학물질이 보여주는 독성효과를 매우 효과적이고 쉽게 이해할 수 있는 display기술을 개발, 적용함으로써 유전자칩 발현에 기반한 화학물질 독성 screening 및 specificity discrimination을 가능케 하는 예가 발표될 것이다. 이 연구에서 개발한 송사리 유전자칩은 간조직의 RNA를 직접 cDNA화 하는 방식을 취하고 있어 전체 송사리의 유전정보를 필요로 하지 않아 비용 및 효율에서 전체 송사리의 유전정보를 얻는 비용과 노력을 취하지 않고 간에서 발생하는 독성학적 영향 및 유전자의 발현정도를 정밀하고 효율적인 방법으로 얻어 낸다. 현재 2000여개의 cDNA유전자중 50%이상의 유전자가 17베타에스트라디올, 페놀, 노닐페놀, 비스페놀, 감마레이조사, 잔류약품중 이보프란, 다이클로펜악, 농약중의 파라???R, 돌연변이 유발물질 중의 이티비알, 금속류중의 카드뮴을 통해 발현양상과 특정 캐미칼별 발현 특이성이 조사되었고, 이들 유전자는 염기서열 분석을 통해 염기서열이 분석되었으며, 미국 NCBI의 유전자 은행과의 비교를 통해 일부유전자는 새로운 유전자로 밝혀지고 있다. 또한 이 발표에서는 소염진통제계열 의약품인 dichlofenac 이 송사리의 각종 조직에 미치는 독성영향을 Real-time PCR을 이용하여 대표적 스트레스 유전자의 발현에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석 예가 발표될 것이다.

Measurement and Analysis of Electric Filed Distributions under 154[kV] Overhead Tranamission Lines (154[KV] 가공송전선로 아래에서 전장분포의 측정과 분석)

  • In this paper, the results of the measurement and analysis of extremely low freqency(ELF) eletric field in the vicinity of 154[kV] overhad transmission lines have been described. The planar-type electric field sensor has been fabricated by three dimensional structure with special consideration of taking the power frequency and lower components. The calibration experiments have been carried out according to the procedures of IEEE recommendation. The electric field measuring system has the frequency bandwidth of 7[Hz] to 2.7[MHz] and the response sensitivity of 0.094[mV/V/m]. Also the practical measurements of electric field under an 154[kV] double corcuit overhead transmission lines have been made abd abalyzed. It was known that the lateral electric field profiles under an 154[kV] double circuit overhead transmission lines show the asymmetrical distributions owing to the environmental metal frame structures and their maximum electric field magnitude is less than 3[kV/m]. It can be concluded that the measured results of the electric fields satisfy with all limits or guide -lines of the various authorized international institutes' recommendations.

Fabrication of $SnO_2$ Gas Sensor added by Metal Oxide for DMMP (DMMP 검출용 금속산화물을 첨가한 $SnO_2$ 가스센서 제조)

  • $SnO_2$ gas sensor for the detection DMMP, simulant of nerve gas was fabricated and its characteristics were examined. Sensing materials were $SnO_2$ added by TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$ with 0∼20wt.% and $In_{2}O_{3}$ with 0∼3wt.% and were physically mixed each material. They were deposited by screen printing method on alumina substrate. The sensor was consisted of sensing electrode with interdigit(IDT) type in front and a heater in back side. Its dimension was 7$\times$10$\times$0.6$\textrm{mm}^2$. Crystallite size 8t phase identification, specific surface area and morphology of fabricated $SnO_2$ powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), surface area analyzer(BET) and by a scanning electron microscope(SEM), respectively. Sensor was measured as flow type and sensor resistance change was monitored as real time using LabVIEW program. The best sensitivities were 75% at adding 4wt.% TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$, operating temperature $300^{\circ}C$ and 87% at adding 2wt.% $In_{2}O_{3}$, operating temperature $350^{\circ}C$ to DMMP 0.5ppm. Response and recovery times were about 1 and 3 min., respectively. Repetition measurement was very good with $\pm$3% in full scale. As a result, operating temperature was lower TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$ than $In_{2}O_{3}$, but sensitivity was higher $In_{2}O_{3}$ than $\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$.

  • Colloids are a heterogeneous system in which particles of a few nanometers to hundreds micrometers in size are finely dispersed in liquid medium, but show homogeneous properties in macroscopic scale. They have attracted much attention not only as model systems of natural atomic and molecular self-assembled structures but also as novel structural materials of practical applications in a wide range of areas. In particular, recent advances in colloidal science have focused on nano-bio materials and devices which are essential for drug discovery and delivery, diagnostics and biomedical applications. In this review, first we introduce nano-bio colloidal systems and surface modification of colloidal particles which creates various functional groups. Then, various methods of fabrication of colloidal particles using holographic lithography, microfluidics and virus templates are discussed in detail. Finally, various applications of colloids in metal inks, three-dimensional photonic crystals and two-dimensional nanopatterns are also reviewed as representative potential applications.

A Study on Determining the Shape of Small Axial Cracks by using Magnetic Flux Leakage in NDT System for Underground Pipe (배관용 자기누설 비파괴 검사에서 축방향 미소결함의 형상 판정에 관한 연구)

  • MFL PIG (Magnetic Flux Leakage Pipeline Inspection Gauge) is called the system which detects the defect for underground pipelines by using magnetic flux leakage method in nondestructive testing. This method is very suitable for testing pipelines because pipeline has high magnetic permeability. MFL PIG generates the magnetic fields to the pipe axially oriented, and detect the signal of leakage flux by using hall sensor. However, MFL PIG is hard to detect the axially oriented crack with small size because the magnetic flux leakage is not enough to be occurred. To detect the small size and axially oriented crack, the circumferential MFL (CMFL) PIG is being proposed and it can maximize the leakage flux for the axial crack by performing magnetic fields circumferentially on the pipe. In this paper, CMFL PIG is applied to detect the axially oriented crack with small size and the analysis for the distribution and the amplitude of the leakage flux signal is performed by using three dimensional finite element method. From sensing signals, the method how to determine the shape of axially oriented cracks is proposed and verified with experiment.

Optimization of Printing Process for the Development of Metal-oxide Resistivity Sensor (전기저항형 금속산화물 센서의 인쇄공정 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we have studied about the optimum fabrication condition of the printed Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) layers for the electrical resistance-type sensor application. We have investigated on the substrates surface treatments, mixing ratio of organic binder/ITO powder, and viscosity of the printing paste to determine the optimum condition of the screen printed ITO layer. Also, we found that the printing condition is closely related with the sensor performance. To know the feasibility of printed ITO layer as an electrical resistance-type sensor, we have fabricated the ITO sensors with a printed and sputtered ITO layers. The printed ITO films revealed $10^2$ times higher sensitivity than the sputtered ITO layer. Also, the sputtered ITO layer exhibited an operating temperature of $127^{\circ}C$ at the operating voltage of 5 V. While, in case of the printed ITO layer showed the operating temperature of $27.6^{\circ}C$ in high operating voltage of 30 V. We found that the printed ITO layer is suitable for the various sensor applications.
