In this review, the fabrication of silicon based memory capacitor and organic memory thin film transistors (TFTs) was discussed for their potential identification tag applications and biosensor applications. Metal or non-metal nanoparticles (NPs) could be capped with chemicals or biomolecules such as protein and oligo-DNA, and also be self-assembly monolayered on corresponding target biomolecules conjugated dielectric layers. The monolayered NPs were formed to be charging elements of a nano floating gate layer as forming organic memody deivces. In particular, the strong and selective binding events of the NPs through biomolecular interactions exhibited effective electrostatic phenomena in memory capacitors and TFTs formats. In addition, memory devices fabricated as organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) have been intensively introduced to facilitate organic electronics era on flexible substrates. The memory OTFTs could be applicable eventually to the development of new conceptual devices.

Laser-induced plasmonic sintering of metal nanoparticles (NPs) holds significant promise as a technology for producing flexible conducting electrodes. This method offers immediate, straightforward, and scalable manufacturing approaches, eliminating the need for expensive facilities and intricate processes. Nevertheless, the metal NPs come at a high cost due to the intricate synthesis procedures required to ensure long-term reliability in terms of chemical stability and the prevention of NP aggregation. Herein, we induced the self-generation of metal nanoparticles from Ag organometallic ink, and fabricated highly conductive electrodes on flexible substrates through laser-assisted plasmonic annealing. To demonstrate the practicality of the fabricated flexible electrode, it was configured in a mesh pattern, realizing multi-touchable flexible touch screen panel.
$In_2O_3$-based thin film sensor with 500-600 nm thick was fabricated for the detection of CO gas by rf magnetron sputtering. In order to improve both sensitivity to CO gas and selectivity to hydrogen gas containing -CH, ultra-thin transition metal Co catalyst was sputtered over $In_2O_3$ thin film and annealed at $500^{\circ}C$. Sensitivity to CO was maximum at the thickness of Co 2.1 nm and $300^{\circ}C$, and that to $C_3H_8$ was at the thickness of Co 1.4 nm and $350-400^{\circ}C$. From the x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) result, ultra-thin Co was existed into CoO covered with $Co_2O_3$ on $In_2O_3$ particles, and thus p-n junction of $In_2O_3(n-type)$-CoO(p-type) was thought to be formed. In this p-n junction type sensors, sensing mechanism with reducing gases can be explained by the variation of depletion layer thickness formed in the interface.
In order to satisfy the requirements of dynamic X-ray imaging with high frame rate and low image lag, minimizing parasitic capacitance in photodiode and overlapped electrodes in pixels is critically required. This study presents duoPIXTM dynamic X-ray imaging sensor composing of readout thin film transistor, reset thin film transistor and photodiode in a pixel. Furthermore, dynamic X-ray detector using duoPIXTM imaging sensor was manufactured and evaluated its X-ray imaging performances such as frame rate, sensitivity, noise, MTF and image lag. duoPIXTM dynamic X-ray detector has 150 × 150 mm2 imaging area, 73 um pixel pitch, 2048 × 2048 matrix resolution(4.2M pixels) and maximum 50 frames per second. By means of comparison with conventional dynamic X-ray detector, duoPIXTM dynamic X-ray detector showed overall better performances than conventional dynamic X-ray detector as shown in the previous study.
In order to investigate the effects of heat treatment on the thermoelectric motive force (EMF) of type R thermocouples, the changes of EMF in the freezing points of aluminum and silver cells were measured with the immersion depth of themocouples. With the variation of heat treatment methods before use, it was found that the EMF values were different from each other, maximum $17.1{\mu}V$ at $660.323^{\circ}C$ and $18.1{\mu}V$ at $961.78^{\circ}C$. Additionally a thermocouple, which was not heat-treated fully, showed an EMF difference with the immersion depth even though it was located on the region maintained at the constant temperature. The measured differences were about maximum $7.8{\mu}V$ at the Al freezing point and $18.9{\mu}V$ at the Ag freezing point. It was recongnized that a thermocouple for the precise temperature measurement should be heat-treated carefully before service. In this report, the proper heat treatment methods for the type R thermocouple were given on the basis of the obtained experimental results.
In order to fabricate the piezoelectric thin film of the PZT-PNN ternary compound, the metal alkoxides were used as starting materials. The electrical and crystalline properties of the thin film were evaluated. The X- RD study shows that the crystallization of the film is optimized at $550^{\circ}C$ of sintering temperature. According to the D-E hysterisis curve, the coercive field is 28.8 kV /cm, and the remanent polariztion is $18.3\;{\mu}C/cm^{2}$. The break down voltages of the thin films are $76.0\;{\sim}\;27.0\;MV/m$. When the sintering temperature is raised, the break down voltage is lowered. As a result of measuring the C-V characteristic curve of the ternary compound piezoelectric thin film, the relative dielectric constants are 406 for the composition (50:40:10), 1084 for the composition (50:30:20), 723 for the composition (45:35:20) and 316 for the composition (40:40:20).
${Co_3}{O_4}$ and ${Co_3}{O_4}$-based thick films with additives such as ${Co_3}{O_4}-{Fe_2}{O_3}$(5 wt.%), ${Co_3}{O_4}-{SnO_2}$ (5 wt.%), ${Co_3}{O_4}-{WO_3}$(5 wt.%) and ${Co_3}{O_4}$-ZnO(5 wt.%) were fabricated by screen printing method on alumina substrates. Their structural properties were examined by XRD and SEM. The sensitivities to iso-${C_4}H_{10}$, $CH_4$, CO, $NH_3$ and NO gases were investigated with the thick films heat treated at $400^{\circ}C$, $500^{\circ}C$ and $600^{\circ}C$. From the gas sensing properties of the films, the films showed p-type semiconductor behaviors. ${Co_3}{O_4}-{SnO_2}$(5 wt.%) thick film heat treated at $600^{\circ}C$ showed higher sensitivity to i-${C_4}H_{10}$ and CO gases than other thick-films. ${Co_3}{O_4}-{SnO_2}$(5 wt.%) thick film heat treated at $600^{\circ}C$ showed the sensitivity of 170 % to 3000 ppm iso-${C_4}H_{10}$ gas and 100 % to 100 ppm CO gas at the working temperature of $250^{\circ}C$. The response time to i-${C_4}H_{10}$ and CO gases showed rise time of about 10 seconds and fall time of about $3{\sim}4$ minutes. The selectivity to i-${C_4}H_{10}$ and CO gases was enhanced in the ${Co_3}{O_4}-{SnO_2}$(5 wt.%) thick film.

Cellulose Electro-Active Paper (EAPap) is attractive as a biomimetic actuator because of its merits: it is lightweight, operates in dry conditions, has a large displacement output, has a low actuation voltage, and has low power consumption. Cellulose is regenerated so as to align its microfibrils, which results in a piezoelectric paper. When chemically bonded and mixed with carbon nanotubes, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, tin oxides, the cellulose EAPap can be used as a hybrid nanocomposite that has versatile properties and that can meet the requirements of many application devices. This paper presents trends in recent research on the cellulose EAPap, mainly on material preparation and its use in devices, including biosensors, chemical sensors, flexible transistors, and actuators. This paper also explains wirelessly driving technology for the cellulose EAPap, which is attractive for use in biomimetic robotics and micro-aerial vehicles.

In this study, we developed a method of improving the surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) response characteristics by depositing a nanoporous Ag metal thin film through cluster source sputtering after forming a pyramidal texture structure on the Si substrate surface. A reactive ion etching (RIE) system with a metal mesh inside the system was used to form a pyramidal texture structure on the Si surface without following a complicated photolithography process, unlike in case of the conventional RIE system. The size of the texture structure increased with the RIE process time. However, after a process time of 60 min, the size of the structure did not increase but tended to saturate. When the RF power increased from 200 to 250 W, the size of the pyramidal texture structure increased from 0.45 to 0.8 ㎛. The SERS response characteristics were measured by depositing approximately 1.5 ㎛ of nanoporous Ag metal thin film through cluster sputtering on the formed texture structure by varying the RIE process conditions. The Raman signal strength of the nanoporous Ag metal thin film deposited on the Si substrate with the texture structure was higher than that deposited on the general silicon substrate by up to 19%. The Raman response characteristics were influenced by the pyramid size and the number of pyramids per unit area but appeared to be influenced more by the number of pyramids per unit area. Therefore, further studies are required in this regard.
In this study, we have fabricated in-situ multilayer $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$/$SrTiO_{3}$/$YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$ ramp edge type junctions by using a metal mask and pulsed laser deposition method and studied the junction properties. The junctions showed RSJ-like I-V characteristics. The normal state junction resistance R, of $18 \omega$ was nearly constant with temperature. The dc-SQUID sensors fabricated with the junctions show a sensitivity that transfer function dV/$d\Phi$)~$22\mu$V/$\Phi_{0}$, indicating that the in-situ ramp edge type junction is potentially useful for sensor application.
