In radar systems, information of three-dimensional (3D) trajectory is necessary for tracking targets. The information of 3D trajectory for a 3D radar can be obtained by estimating the azimuth angle, the elevation angle, and the distance. The estimated information of the angles and the distance has errors according to received signals. Since these errors affect performances of 3D radar systems, performance analysis of 3D radar for the angles and the distance errors is required. In this paper, the performance of 3D radar systems is analyzed by root mean square error (RMSE) between true trajectory information and the estimated trajectory information according to the angles and the distance errors.

The present work is to analyze the longitudinal static stability and the drop trajectory of fighter aircraft's external fuel tank, of which horizontal fin is modified as the 20% scale down size compared with the original one. The analytical results to the pitching stability of external fuel tank using a thin airfoil's aerodynamic force data show the corresponding tendency to results of wind tunnel experiment. Results of trajectory simulation by the 6 degree of freedom equations of motion, comparing with drop trajectories of wind tunnel experiment, are shown that aircraft's attitude affects strongly on horizontal movement but not on the vertical movement. Those results give the reliability to aircraft safety when the external fuel tank with the 20% reduced horizontal fins is released from aircraft based on the flight manual.
This study aims to estimate the trajectory of outpatient medical service use and examine what factors are associated with the trajectory among older adults 60 and over with specific focuses on age variations. Using the first three waves of the Korean Welfare Panel Study data, the trajectory and predictors were examined through the Latent Growth Curve Modeling and age variations were examined through the Multi-group Comparison Analyses. The research model was developed based on the Anderson Model. The results showed that study participants tend to increase outpatient medical service use with years. Individuals 75 or younger presented a much faster increasing rate of medical service use than those 75 and over. Similar to the findings of the previous studies, most predisposing factors, resource factors, and needs factors were found to be associated with the trajectory of outpatient medical service use. Needs factors were more closely associated with the medical service use trajectory than resource factors. With regard to age variations in predictors, few significant age variations were found. Based on the finding of the study, implications and future research directions were discussed.
In order to analyze the behavior of moving objects, a measure for determining the similarity of trajectories needs to be defined. Although research has been conducted that retrieved similar trajectories of moving objects in Euclidean space, very little research has been conducted on moving objects in the space defined by road networks. In terms of real applications, most moving objects are located in road network space rather than in Euclidean space. In similarity measure between trajectories, however, previous methods were based on Euclidean distance and only considered spatial similarity. In this paper, we define similarity measure based on POI and TOI in road network space. With this definition, we present methods to retrieve similar trajectories using spatio-temporal similarity between trajectories. We show clustering results for similar trajectories. Experimental results show that similar trajectories searched by each method and consistency rate between each method for the searched trajectories.

With the spread of mobile devices and advances in communication techknowledges, the needs of application which uses the movement patterns of moving objects in history trajectory data of moving objects gets Increasing. Especially, to design public transportation route or road network of the new city, we can use the similar patterns in the trajectories of moving objects that move on the spatial network such as road and railway. In this paper, we propose a spatio-temporal similar trajectory search algorithm for moving objects on road network. For this, we define a spatio-temporal similarity measure based on the real road network distance and propose a grid-based index structure for similar trajectory search. Finally, we analyze the performance of the proposed similar trajectory search algorithm in order to show its efficiency.

We developed an algorithm to efficiently detect streaks in survey images and made a performance test with YSTAR-NEOPAT images obtained by the 0.5m telescope stationed in South Africa. Fast moving objects whose apparent speeds exceed 10 arcsec/min are the main target of our algorithm; these include artificial satellites, space debris, and very fast Near-Earth Objects. Our algorithm, based on the outline shape of elongated sources employs a step of image subtraction in order to reduce the confusion caused by dense distribution of faint stars. It takes less than a second to find and characterize streaks present in normal astronomical images of 2K format. Comparison with visual inspection proves the efficiency and completeness of our automated detection algorithm. When applied to about 7,000 time-series images from YSTAR telescope, nearly 700 incidents of streaks are detected. Fast moving objects are identified by the presence of matching streaks in adjoining frames. Nearly all of confirmed fast moving objects turn out to be artificial satellites or space debris. Majority of streaks are however meteors and cosmic ray hits, whose identity is often difficult to classify.
Automobile shredder residue (ASR) is the final waste produced when end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) are shredded. ASR can be separated using mineral-processing operations such as comminution, air classification, magnetic separation, and/or electrostatic separation. In this work, trajectory analyses of conductors (copper) and non-conductors (glass) in the ASR have been carried out using induction electrostatic separator for predicting or improving the ASR-separation efficiency. From results of trajectory analysis for conductors, the trajectories of copper wire by observation versus simulation for coarse particles of 0.5 and 0.25 mm showed consistent congruity. The observed 0.06 mm fine-particles trajectory was deflected toward the (-) attractive electrode owing to the charge-density effects due to the particle characteristics and relative humidity. In the case of non-conductors, the actual trajectory of dielectric glass deflected toward the (-) electrode, showing characteristics similar to those of conductive particles. The analyses of stereoscopic microscope and SEM & EDS found heterologous materials (fine ferrous particles and conductive organics) on the glass surface. This demonstrates the glass decreasing separation efficiency for non-ferrous metals during electrostatic separation for the recycling of ASR. Future work will require a pretreatment process for eliminating impurities from the glass and advanced trajectory-simulation processes.

It is difficult to estimate missile flight trajectory since a ballistic missile velocity is highly fast and has inherent behavior such as corkscrew due to unstable descending. This paper describes a comprehensive analysis of the flight trajectory characteristics of ballistic missiles. Various missile flight ranges based the comprehensive flight trajectory characteristics are derived by an analytical approach. It is shown analytically that threat due to the flight characteristics is significantly increased with reducing maximum missile ranges. This work is basic research of the establishment of operational concept for the lower tier missile defense system implementation.
